Aankhon ki Gustakhiyan Season II Mumbai Chapter
Part 7
It had been another 6 months when the rhythm of life was taking them on a joyful journey. Every morning Oberoi household was woken up with the sound of bhajans in the soulful voice of Gauri, the aarti was performed by the trio of Daadi, Chote Papa and Gauri. Everyone left whatever they were doing to come and pay their respects and collect their Prasad (Tej included). In fact, he had even started including the two bahus in his morning newspaper reading time with Rudra.
He had started these sessions with Rudra years ago, once he was a teenager, to spend some time with his son. He knew he had proved to be a bad father so far but he was trying to make amends every now and then, atleast he will not let Rudy suffer the way Om did. He also knew very well that Omkara would never join in these sessions.
But every morning, AniRiRu would be by his side and they would discuss all things trivial, after all there was so much time left in the day to discuss business news with Shivaay. And he was getting bits of insights into the life and thoughts of his two new daughters. He missed Priyanka a lot after she settled abroad. And his ultimate plan was to get Om to join, via Gauri. And Gauri's aim was to get to know Tej a bit better in order to assess how she was going to bridge the gap between the father and son duo.
Rudra just couldn't part with his Bhabhis, the bond they had, was getting stronger by the day, just like his bros. They were the three pranksters and crime-partners in the household, always hatching plans to trouble the older Obros or exposing villians/vamps that graced the halls of OM every now and then.
But according to ShivKara, enough was enough'. They were extremely frustrated. They hardly got to tease their wives in between corridors, now they had even less time for them.
As if all this morning gossip business and pranking together was not enough for the three, now Ru had also started the training together' session with his Obhabhis. Anika had seen somewhere on TV that after marriage husbands start losing interest in their wives if they grow fat. Although she knew Shivaay was not like that, the old woman avatar she had donned during Rikara's Bareilly track had left her a bit confused. She was determined to keep a svelte figure to not give Shivaay any options whatsoever, and so she had asked Rudy for advice re: exercises. She had also roped Gauri in on this mission. At first Gauri was skeptical, she had faith as big as a mountain in her Omkaraji, but she was easily convinced once Rudy showed her pictures of O's previous girlfriends. In fact, to say, that Gauri was fuming looking at those pictures won't be wrong. She made a note to herself for probing Rudy Bhiayaa and bit more; later to get to know about Omkara's past life re: girlfriends. The AniRiRu exercise regimes started, that took a good part of an hour every morning.
Gauri had started waking up even earlier for this, leaving Omkara missing her cuddles for that extra hour. He was furious. Gauri's routine was now more hectic the Prime Minister himself, thought Omkara. She woke up early, one hour training with AniRu, then shower, morning rituals, puja and aarti with Daadi and Chote Papa, then newspaper gossip session with AniRu and Tej (Mr. Oberoi), whilst he and Shivaay prepared breakfast for all. They met on the breakfast table as a family, where now he had to take desperate measures like hold her hand whilst eating just to be close to her. Then she was off to her classes with DivyaMa and he was off to his studio, only to meet at dinner time. In between she had a million things and he had a million things to do, he would try and sneak up to her in corridors, etc. like he did the other day in the kitchen, but that was not enough. He missed his Chiraiyaa, who he thought was solely his, but now everybody wanted a piece of her!!
He told his frustration to Shivaay one day when looking grumpy and was quizzed by his big bro, and lo and behold, Shivaay had the same problem. Rudy had whisked away their wives leaving them wanting. To simply state -ShivKara were jealous of the trio. So this time it was their turn to hatch a plan against the trio.
So, this morning they put an alarm, woke up early, just 5 minutes into their respective wives leaving for the gym, got ready and walked. They met in the corridor, shook hands Obro style and barged into Rudra's training studio. AniRiRu didn't know what hit them. Gauri hid herself shyly behind Anika, not wanting to reveal her gym outfit to Omkara. It was similar to what she wore when she misunderstood Omkara's quest for inspiration' to be perspiration'. She looked perfectly cute in it, as Omkara had pulled her cheeks and remarked back then. But Gauri just didn't know what her Nandi will do this time when he sees her like this, now that he has the license and all.
She was not wrong, as soon as Omkara saw her; he picked her up and walked towards the door. Rudra shouted' O, what are you doing, put Bhabhi down, her training is ongoing'. But Omkara kept walking and so did Shivaay with Anika in his arms. Both the gals kept protesting,' Om, let me take my robe atleast' Gauri pleaded. He picked up the robe on the way out and they disappeared. Rudy was not happy, he was very strict when it came to training etc. now bhabhis will have to work double hard tomorrow, he told himself and continued his own exercises.
Rikara reached their room and Om put furious Gauri down on the bed. Aap' but as usual, she wasn't allowed to continue further and felt his fingers pulling her cheeks,' Why are you so cute? You will be the death of me someday' he said. And then he lay down on the bed and started cuddling with her. Well, Gauri wasn't complaining anymore, she had missed her Jatadhari as well and so she returned his embrace. He smiled with closed eyes.
Why do you do such things?' complained Gauri, how will I face Rudy Bhaiya now, do you have any idea how much he teased me the other day for the payal' incident?'
Bcoz I can't stay away from you for long, but tell me - you don't enjoy this? You didn't like me making you wear the payal that day?' challenged Omkara
Nahin, woh' Gauri was at a loss for words.
ok, I challenge you today? Let's see how much courage you've got as well?' Omkara looked into her eyes teasing her.
Gauri fell into the trap.
Hum kisise nahin darte. Tell me, what I have to do?' she was trying to be brave.
Kiss me' said Okmara
Ok' said Gauri and moved towards him.
In front of everyone' Omkara completed his sentence. He was just pulling her leg, he actually knew that would never happen.
Gauri was looking at him like the floor had slipped from underneath her feet. Kya? How shameless you are. I am going to do no such thing.' She retorted.
Ok, then proven', said Omkara
Proven, what?'
That I love you more and I have courage to show it' declared Omkara
Nooo. I have courage. I love you sooo much' remarked Gauri. Omkara left it at that.
ShivOmRu met later and came to a settlement about this dispute. 50-50 - That's what they agreed. The training sessions will now last only for half hour and AniRi will get another half hour of sleep. How much, and with what all ShivKara had to bribe baby Ru for this so called settlement, is best left unanswered. But they did plan to celebrate this settlement in the evening with a small get-together. Bhavya was also invited and she did join them. So after dinner, all three couples joined the floor seating in the pool area over drinks and played spin the bottle. This time, it was just for entertainment and not meant for pulling each other's legs. It was going smoothly, everyone was having loads of fun, by now Anika had done a khidkitod performance of copying Hema Malini from Sholay' movie accompanied by Rudra as Gabbar singh, at which Shivaay was clearly clean bold. Bhavya had done a compering act for a cricket match in ACP style which was hilarious, and Omkara had done shayari. Now the bottle stopped at Gauri. It was her turn.
What shall I do?' asked Gauri very sportily. Omkara was looking at her with squinted eyes as if hatching a conspiracy.' I will tell', said Anika. No' said Shivaay. Why?' Anika complained. Shivaay winked at her and said,' Om kya karvana hain Gauri se? Do you have something in mind?' I want to hear a song' ordered Omkara.
It had started raining, the pitter-patter was pleasant, lights were dimmed; everyone started clapping and settled down comfortably with cushions.
Hmmm, Gauri cleared her throat and started singing,' Aaoge jab tum o saajna, angna phool khilenge, barsega sawan, barsega sawan, jhoom jhoom ke... angna phool khilenge. Naina tere kajrare hain, naino pe hum dil hare hain'
Omkara lit a candle to her face; he was sitting in front of her observing acutely, half covering her to other's sight-line who were busy enjoying the voice and each other, Shivaay was caressing Anika's hair whose head was in his lap, and Rudra and Bhavya were lost in each other's eyes. When the song finished, everyone was busy clapping and cheering, Gauri leaned forward, blew off the candle Om was holding reached out her hand, caressed Omkara's cheek, leaned in and gave him a peck on the lip, withdrawing very quickly. Omkara was shocked, he had just challenged Gauri for fun, he had no idea his chiraiya took it seriously! He was still absorbing what just happened when lights came on, everyone started dispersing and Gauri got busy collecting food stuff with Anika.
Omkara waited patiently, and as soon as Gauri passed, her pulled her hand and fixed her to the pillar.
Woh kya tha?' Omkara asked seductively
Kya' Gauri pretended to not remember anything.
Woh, jo abhi tumne kiya,'
Kya kiya? Accha, woh? Well, you challenged me, didn't you, I was just completing the challenge' smarted Gauri
Really?' Omkara rolled his eyes.
Really.' Said Gauri, and turning red, blushed and ran in the opposite direction, whilst Omkara's smirk stayed with him for the next few days.
