I can def see where you are coming from and why you would find it hard to respect, but at least for me, what I look at as a viewer is did I like the movie? did the actors do justice to their roles? and aside from SOTY, Alia has been doing great in whatever roles she plays, at least for me. And it seems other audiences also agree which is why she is accepted.
The one who bothers me is Shraddha- she hasn't gotten too many difficult or pathbreaking roles, but the ones she get she is sooo horrible at em, yet she continues to get roles despite most her movies failing at the BO and her acting being panned by critics. That is when nepotism bothers me and is hard to respect at least for me. But for Alia, yeah she didnt have to struggle but she is also fulfilling the roles given to her.
Shraddha is going to slowly fade, once Sara and Jhanhvi come and if they at-least have decent acting chops. Her looks are going to keep her in the game for a while, but with no acting skills, it will be hard to survive. And Kriti is also slowly building her popularity. So, let's see. And I agree that Alia does well at her job, she definitely is a natural and likely will become better with experience. But, I think other girls could do just as well if given the right opportunities. I think there is a good pool of new batch of actresses that through right opportunities can provide healthy competition for each other. Pari is an idiot who someone needs to mentor in terms of career choices, but she had/has lots of potential. It's yet to be determined if she manages to bounce back in her career. But, I think she has talent and if she leaves YRF behind and gets a good film that has a meaty role (which is obviously not easy), then she still has a chance.
Though for audiences accepting Alia, I think once you have average/above average talent like Alia, it is not hard for audiences to accept such person when they see them in good and well done projects. And that again comes down to opportunities, and now I'm repeating myself. 😆 But mostly a little fairness and a more even distribution in opportunities can bring more variety in terms of talent on the screen for audiences, rather than it being monopolized by just one person. Because at the end of the day, even audiences can get tired of seeing that one person over and over again. But, yes, I definitely understood your point.
