Slotted for Christmas 2017 release, Tiger Zinda Hai's trailer has broken all records. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were said to be reprising their roles from EK Tha Tiger. However, it's being rumoured that the Central Board of Film Certification want to change Katrina Kaif's nationality in the film.

In Tiger Zinda Hai, Katrina Kaif essays the role of a Pakistani spy and her nationality may force the makers of the film to re-edit the film. A source told a leading online portal that last year; Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had to suffer a similar fate. Anushka Sharma's character in the film was originally a Pakistani, but after the ban, the makers of the film showed her as an Indian Muslim from Lucknow. 'If you remember, in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anushka Sharma's character Alizeh was from Pakistan. But after the surgical strikes and the escalated hostilities between the two countries, her nationality was quickly changed, and she became an Indian Muslim from Lucknow,' the source said.

That's not all. The source also added that love stories based on cross-border romances are unofficially banned. "The guidelines clearly don't allow this kind of a cross-border merger. The first installment of the film, Ek Tha Tiger revolves around a love story between an Indian and Pakistani agent who fall in love and their journey to survive against all odds. Although the director of the film claims that the film isn't focussing on the love story between the leads, the alleged demand of the CBFC will surely change the film's narrative.
