Watching Old IB episodes made me realise ....

Out of boredom and also on missing watching Shivika these days on show has pushed me to watch the old episodes and sigh, it made me realise how the show has been drastically reduced to lame comedy without a proper storyline...
In a way it just made me sad...so sad that I am now trying to vent off my feelings by posting this...
This is not a bashing post or ridiculing other fandoms...just my feelings of how things changed for most of the Shivika fans on this show after merger...

I just finished rewatching the 300th episode and the next episode where Annika was trying to find out if she had blurted out some stupid things in an inebriated state and had angered Shivaay who was ignoring her... how much I am missing these two !!! Very much in love Shivaay who wanted to recreate fresh memories of their marriage and Annika fighting herself to go away from her love to protect Shivaay... even though the separation was ridiculously timed yet there was some story and some beautifully enacted scenes both from Narbhi...mind you I still haven't watched the separation track completely but did see the last one where they just broke down ... there was love, pain, anger, heart break...so many shades of Shivika's relationship so beautifully show cased...

And today when I was watching the episode I wasn't able to see through it... the video was playing yet there was a disconnect...watching just for the sake of watching... what have Harneet and Co reduced this show to...? After merger all we see are illogical tracks which have no closures and some lame comedy tracks which have now become cringe worthy... why is that every thing has to be in groups??? Even talks between husbands and wives shown parallelly? Each couple are in a different stage of their journey and showing every relation in parallel is just killing the essence of these couples...in the name of giving equal screen space to all couples they are just putting every one in one screen and creating comedy tracks to suit that...
When I heard that IB will be reduced to 30 minutes I wondered how would they try to incorporate all three couples with senior Oberois and villains but never thought that we would get every one on screen without any story... in episode 301 when Annika asked Shivaay if she had talked something stupid, Shivaay tells her yes she did talk and in fact she talked a lot .. bina sar pair ke baatein ki tumne... you spoke so much but nothing was connected... it was illegible... now a ways IB seems like that... every one are in the episodes every one talking but none can make out the purpose...

In the earlier IB episodes before the launch of DBO, each brother did have their own track and still had Obros and family moments which were so endearing to watch... Obros discussing their issues and trying to cheer up each other...but now a days even thinking of Obros together is making me afraid of all the group interactions that writers are forcing on every one...comedy was always part of IB but it was subtle and but now a days it's like comedy is spread through out the episodes...
Please don't get me wrong, I live in a joint family with my in laws from the time of my marriage and I know the importance of being together but still as a wife I would want my alone time with my husband and I love my space... I am a working woman and I was only able to live with them because of the space my in laws give me...we cook together and we talk and watch some tv shows or movies together but still we have the individual space ... but this seems to be missing in the show...
With the lack of story andlack of proper progression everything interaction is looking forced which is making it difficult to watch... I never thought that some day I would say this... even during all the negative tracks I tried to be positive and hoped for some progression in Shivika...
I have nothing against other fandoms my disappointment is with makers but this merger has killed IB and especially Shivika...
None of the fandoms are happy with the current track... only thing that makers have achieved after show has been reduced to 30 min is to have all of the cast on screen...

On top of that all individual couple scenes are edited or chopped off to give way for family scenes... the segments these days look more complete than in the show...even hoping for an uninterrupted 3 minute Shivika scene these days looks like a distant dream...😡... I miss my Shivika...way too much than I had imagined after merger...

The mahasangam episodes did get them trps because the the whole family was reunited after long time and it had beautiful family and Obros moments with individual stories of Shivika , Rikara and Ruvya with planning and plotting of villains...but now I am not sure what to look forward too...

I just wanted to express my disappointment because of the way the show has been reduced to...as some of you have said that at the end of the Goa track something positive might come up but still I am worried that in the name of giving equal SS we will always get these forced interactions and group scenes...
I am hoping that I am proven wrong and Harneet and co come up with proper story lines with healthy dose of drama, comedy, romance...

Rant over...

So true that. I would have thought after merger and reducing the show to 30minutes they would have sense to show the story progressing rather than fill it with lame so called comedy filler tracks. They have such talented actors and such potential in both Shivika and Rikara, also in Rudy. Never felt much connected with Ruvya but that aside with such potential actors it's sad that the writers are clueless how to close the tracks they themselves opened up earlier and instead start off with random cringeworthy tracks.

Completely agree with you! The fact that these pathetic forced tracks are tarnishing my memories of the older wonderful tracks irks me more than anything! Need to get over this! *sigh*

And I'll stop before this comment becomes a full-fledged rant!

Exactly, most of them are in withdrawal mode...I thought what could be worse than separation but looking back, even that looks good now...During the separation track though everyone was pissed off, yet there was hope... hope of Shivika reunion... how they would come back with love intensified after knowing the sacrifices each went through... but now I am not sure what to look forward too... earlier the segments were kind of pre-excitement feels... now I am scared to even know what's happening...
@bold exactly, there is a huge potential with wonderful cast but sigh not sure where the writers are heading too...

Completely agree with you. I have been watching both shows since the beginning and the downgrade is getting more obvious each episode. Honestly, IB and DBO's most senseless tracks were more entertaining this new version of the show. In the past, we had breakfast scene or they ran into each other in the living room/kitchen then everyone went off on their own.

It's disappointing that the makers use equal SS (which I wholeheartedly agree with) to ruin all the charm of the show. Each character was unique so when they interacted there was a impact. The problem is now everyone has the same story, same conflicts, and wears the same color. The exact scene side-by-side don't really help either. The whole group thing is absurd and bordering on the creepy line.

The brothers were never this invested in each other lives and interacted like normal siblings. There was no forced interactions and the need to be doing the exact same thing all the time. Be it sad, happy, or funny there was something unique about the interaction. More importantly, there was a reason for the interaction. I'm so confused why they can't all have their own stories and personal space. Group confessions, group mistakes, and group guilt trips coming up. Like you mentioned, the writers showed different tracks before so why not now? It's the same for the FLs they don't have to be together all the time discussing their MLs. There has to more to them than that.

Also, is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of the pati and patni dribble. Husbands do this. Wives do that. Marriage is like this. Marriage is like that. Enough already they talk more about being husband and wife than actually behaving like spouses or actually talking to each other.

30 minutes takes a load off the cast and the crew, which is the only positive from this decision.

After the reduction in show time, every one assumed that we would get a crisp story line instead of the drag fests during 1 hour shows...but now there is no continuity and scenes keep jumping from one to other and the show seems to be running on skates now with no story...

@bold. Very true... So many beautiful memories of Shivika are now being over shadowed by these forced interactions...Shivika had the most beautiful journey and progression but now where are they headed to??? For each of us Shivaay is classy, sauvy and sophisticated but the segments of this Goa track made me close my eyes... along with the track the execution of story also matters... no matter what the track is there is always a way to showcase that... but this time along with track the execution is looking pathetic...hope the editors really chop off those stupid scenes from segments...

THIS is the biggest issue with the show since last week...the insistence on making EVERYTHING a group activity, forced interactions b/w all the characters and most of those interactions being slapstick comedy. Whatever little is given in lieu of one on one interactions b/w the pairs is also shown in parallel style editing as if everyone is the same character😕

In the name of giving "equal screen space"🤔, all they've done is ruined the only thing that was still working for the show despite all other nonsensical tracks...and that thing was Shivika. Cold truth, but there it is.
