Muslim 500, an annual publication ranking influential Muslims since 2009, has just released its 2018 list, bringing to light the top 500 most influential Muslims.

The list aims to "recognize those who have managed to undertake exceptional accomplishments in a relatively short time span of one or two years," the publication says in a statement.

The ranking is divided into several categories, including Muslim man of the year(Pakistani Sadiq Khan), Muslim woman of the year (Moroccan Nawal al-Soufi) as well as ranking Muslims based on their popularity on social media.
