Ye to hona he tha .. if KJo had to launch Jhanvi then he would have done that by now. I am getting the feeling that Jhanvi will end up like Govinda's daughter. Her, Shamita, Tanisha, Rinke Khanna etc. are examples of insider actresses who got enough movies offered but didn't pick the right ones at the right time and then the offers dried up.

Whatever is given here wrt reasons for change or shelving the movie seem justified to me. It's easier to make a movie on caste differences for a smaller target audience. But the Hindi film audience is bigger and spans across states. Which state will it base on? Also it could run into controversy. Plus actors seem unsuitable for what the role requires. Something like TFIOS is something that could work better for Jhanvi or even something like SOTY. They should ideally go for outsiders for Sairat but Dharma is incapable of finding such people.

Dharma does not have the capability to make Sairat. They will only be able to take the basic idea of a forbidden love story and that's it. The rest is beyond them and too "real." Hence it is better if they shelve it.

I think the director of Sairat had refused to be associated with the Hindi remake in any way saying the visions were completely different and I think he also disapproved of the cast KJo had in mind.
