Update for feb5, part1

The episode starts with sita and her sisters running joyfully through the corridors of The palace at Mithila and eventually reaching the room where Shivdhanush is kept.Sita does puja of the dhanush and spreads flower on it. On seeing this her sisters are astonished and they say if it isnot an offence. They also ask, if maharaja Janaka rebukes them. Sita assures them saying "kisike puja karne mein aparadh kyu hogi?"😛

Faraway in Mahendra parvat, rishi Parasuram is meditating when he startles up and taking along with his celebrated axe starts moving. A storm follows and people of Mithila flees it.the king ,his brother and their wives cannot figure out what's happening. King Janaka comes out , his brother follows him. Out of the blue appears Rishi Parasuram. Both the royalties are struck with awe. The Rishi famous for his terse remarks , speaks out , and asks whether the tradition of catering to guests in Mithila has been lost. King Janaka invites Rishi Parasuram inside. There he introduces him to his daughters. Sita pluckily gives replies to his rematks and works. The Rishi is amazed at the childwhen king janaka revels this his his daughter sita,w ho is still a kid and immature. So the rishi must forgive her cheekiness.D rishi wonders at the leela of the mighty lord and offers a pranam to THE LORD.

He reveals that while meditating at the mahendra parvat ,he was instructed by lord SHIVA to go and visit the shiv dhanush situated at Mithila, and so he is there.the king takes him to the place. The rishi offers his pranam and puja and says, its so well maintained he felt its like worshipping lord SHIVA himself.He leaves gradually. Before that he warns the king so that the dhanush is never neglected which may cause great affliction.Queen is worried, she thinks the rishi is warning them against some impending disaster following negligence.

Back at the palace, sita and her sisters are all curios to know, what is so special about that shivdhanush. they insist King Janaka to recite them the story.The queen also requests him to narrate the story. SO he narrates the story:

Once their was a mighty demon named tarakasur. He was blessed by a boon, tat all his 3 sons could fly and they could not be killed when they were separate. Only when they r hit all together with one arrow will they die. The Devtas, seeing no other way, prayed to lord Shiva to get rid of these demons. They were causing a lot of destruction.SO lord shiva killed Them with a single arrow that chased them and killed them. This he accomplished with the Famous Haradhanu/Shivdhanush.

Update for feb5, part2

Its Gurukul. In the evening, in front of Devi Saraswati, Rama is playing the Veena. There in mIthila, in front of The tutor Guruma, sita and her sisters are dancing. It seems like sita and rama already have a telepathic coordination.😎Sita is dancing spontaneously to the tune RAMA is playing. After they finish, sita drops down in front of the statue of lord Vishnu. She says as if somebody was playing for her(👏) and her every part of body was dancing to it. Her sisters joke, its none other than him(looks like little girl but talks like bigger ones😉)
Then the sisters ask the gurumata to describe why Lord vishnu is called Palanakarta. She explains, its because whenever there is sin and atrocitiy, he comes down to earth in one of his incarnations to suppress them and restore peace. Sita is spell bound and says when will lord Vishnu come down for her? Her sisters joke again.[too much big girl talk huh?😉]Guruma explains the Lord only comes down to save the world. Sita solemnly declares she will stand by the lord to help him in his job (dutiful wife😆)

In this way Rama and sita grows up.
After a few years
Gurumata , at Guru Vashista's ashrama calls rama. Over the year she has grown fonder and fonder of rama. Guru says , he thinks ram is meditating. Later Rama comes(wow, grown up Rama, boy he looks great) and offers his teachers his Pranams. The guru then elads him to perform Surya pranam. Everyone is standing, Rama, Laxman, Bharat, Satrughna and other students.
Gurudev explains. this pranam has 12 movements and completing this whole set means finishing the pranam once. The pranam turns out to be streachings. It starts with hands up in tree posture, then stretching back standing, then bending front, then stretching with back up, then pushing up and stretching back and finally closing eyes and folding hands in Pranam .this has to be done atleast thrice 👍🏼😎
[No wonder people at that time were strong and able bodied. IN the name of a religious rite so that everyone comes and perform all they are doing is stretching. According to Indian customs, all forms of pranams should be offered atleats thrice. Which meant doing these rigorous strechings over and over again. Explains why our ancestors were strong. They worked out as a method of workout.

You are right that pranam was like exercise. Surya namaskar is a very good example. It is a good exercise.

wish we could do the same, we work out as a method of fashiona s everyone is doing so. But if we are told to do it as a method of worship,w e will stray away from it😉

This had to be my favourite episode so far.
Love the new Ram and his bros - they look well cast.
And the Surya Namaskar was so inspirational.
