CHAPTER 44
"Tell me that you weren't savouring over all her body with your eyes. I didn't SEE you kissing her or anything of that sort. But I did SEE your intentions that was proudly displayed by your eyes." Her nose was tinted red with hurt and anger.
"Then why don't you once try reading my eyes now?" He asked softly.
She looked into his eyes just to rebuke again but words deceived her. Not able to come up with some sarcastic or angry remarks, she opted to ask a logical question. "So, what did you ask her?"
"I got the names of people who helped her... all of them who helped her to drift us apart. They are in police custody right now along with Ruqaiya." Jalal answered calmly. Seeing Jodha contemplating things silently, he cupped her face and continued "I know it was wrong of me to do it this way. But I didn't had any other option. If I would have handed her directly to police, I would have never known about the people who helped her. I am sorry, and I am ready for any punishment that seems fit to you."
Jodha smirked, eyes shining with evil thoughts "You sure, you won't back off"
"Yes" he answered softly discerning from her shining eyes that she is planning something weird and crazy.
"Perform strip dance for me." she whispered and chuckled seeing his changing expressions.
"What..." He was too shocked to even react properly to her demand.
"You heard it." A flat response came his way.
"I am good with couple dance but I don't know how to do all those things." He reasoned.
"You can try." She shrugged off his attempt to escape. The chit chat gave enough time to Jalal to think of some naughty resorts.
"You want me to seduce you? I can do that without stripping off." Reducing the distance between them, he whispered.
"But you said you would do anything I want. And that is what I want." Knowing his intentions very well, she placed her palms on his chest and tried maintaining some distance between their demanding bodies.
"Your wish, my command." He scooted away whispering the husky message near her left ear, aware of the effect it must have on her.
His fingers proceeded to unbutton the top button of his shirt, his eyes seducing her without even touching her. Two buttons down, and Jodha giggled "you are missing the 'dance' part Mister."
"Glad that you find me amusing" he said flatly.
"Offended? Eh" Jodha walked to him and placed a kiss on his chest, above his heart.
Giving up the pretence, he wrapped his arms around her reliving all their memories.. the good ones. Words weren't needed neither spoken. Hearts played their role, apologising, forgiving, loving, craving.. all at once.
She needed him to know that along with his apology, she had accepted HIM back "Enough of these misunderstandings and fights. It had to happen, and it did. They are punished for what they did. I don't want to punish us for their sins."
His lips curved into a full blown smile "I love you sweetheart"
"I love you too Jalal." She whispered and smiled at the realisation "This is the first time we confessed our love out loud."
He chuckled "This might be the first time our lips pronounced it, but our hearts have confessed million times."
"When will our reception party be held?" Jodha asked out of nowhere.
"What? Where did that come from?" He blinked in confusion and it didn't take his not so innocent mind to form devil ideas.
She shrugged.
"Jealous?" Jalal quipped.
"Why would I be?" It was her chance to get confused.
"Because to me it sounded like 'I want the world to know that you are mine now and to keep their hands and eyes off you' Am I right Mrs. Jodha Khan?" He smirked.
"It's nothing like that." She huffed and sat on the bed.
"You know it's not wrong to think that." Jalal said measuring her irritated gazes.
"Seems like you want reception party for that very purpose." She raised an eyebrow.
"Ofcourse yes. Those guys out there should know that you aren't available now." He smirked and made himself comfortable beside her.
"You devil." She giggled at his theories.
"So how about this weekend.. for the reception party?" Jalal asked.
"After 3 days.. seems you are very desperate." Jodha whispered.
"You have no idea." The shift in his tone reflexively made her glance at him. His eyes had a devilish shine in them. He continued winking at her "It is after our reception that will be going on our honeymoon"
"Seems like you have planned that too." Her lips thinned to stop her smile from becoming evident.
"You get to choose the place... rest of the things... I have planned very well." He chuckled seeing her astonished expressions.
"Isshhh.. you are a.. devil" she turned her face away to hide the heat rushing through her body to her cheeks.
"I am." He proudly accepted and continued "By the way.. we were deciding on the place of our honeymoon. Although it doesn't matter much.. you know what I mean." He grinned smugly.
Jodha faked a sulking face to avoid any further questions but then a thought popped up in her mind "Agra" she said.
"Why Agra of all the places?" Though he liked her choice but he wanted her to confess that she wants to visit the city symbolising love.
"I want to see the palace of Shehensha Jalal-ud-din Mohammad Akbar"
He smiled and nodded "okay.. we will visit Agra. But.. you just want to visit Agra? No other place holds your interest?"
"I want to visit Kashmir, ladakh, and all those snow filled areas... and Rajasthan, Gujarat... and Kerala... yes.. beaches.. and.." her excitement was clearly evident in her voice. Jalal clamped her lips albeit his hands, knowing very well the consequence of using his lips instead. She was talking and he wanted to let her open up. If he would have used his lips, forget talking, it would have turned into something else altogether.
"We will go on an all India tour. Is that okay?" He giggled at her long list.
"Yes, for now. By the way.. Jalal... I wanted to ask you something." Jodha paused for his approval.
"Go on" Jalal nodded. Getting the needed cue, she questioned looking straight into his eyes "Are you sure that you saw ME kissing Surya?"
A striking anxiety reflected in his eyes and he turned away his face and hummed in response. Not satisfied with the outcome, Jodha probed "Please tell me what did you see."
"I saw the kiss and.. let's not talk about it Jodha." He tried to brush off the topic.
She was about to push him further but then a thought poked in. Jalal witnessed changing expressions on her face.. unconvinced to thoughtful to shocked to pain. Cupping her face he asked "What happened baby?"
"Did you see the face of the girl kissing him?" Jodha whispered.
Jalal asked confused by her question "What do you mean?"
"Did you see the face of the girl after she came out of the washroom?"
Still confused but he concentrated hard to remember if he did and he whispered in shock "No"
"It was me whom you followed into the washroom. But it was Priya whom you misunderstood to be me as we wore same dress for a promotional event." Jodha answered all the unasked questions.
"What" Jalal freezed flabbergasted.
Cupping his face Jodha sighed "Hey... I never wanted to clear this to make you sad.. rather I wanted you to know that it was just some coincidence. I can never betray you my love."
Overwhelmed by her love he hugged her "I know sweety"
"By the way, your punishment isn't over yet." The teasing smirk on her lips were back.
"What punishment?" Raising an eyebrow he asked.
"Your exclusive strip dance performance." She broke into enchanting grins.
"Achaaa... You want me to continue stripping? No problem. I can strip off my clothes as well as yours." He smirked leaning in and giving a hint of his intentions.
"Chii.. shameless creature" Jodha got up to flee but Jalal was fast enough to stop her by capturing her hands into his.
"You just want me to strip.. or you have plans thereafter too" he walked back towards her and whispered.
"How about tying you up and not letting you touch me after seducing you?" Jodha smirked and faced him.
"Atleast seducing part is amazing.. rest I can manage with another cold shower just like an hour ago." Jalal scratched his chin in contemplation very sure of the reaction his comments will have on her.
"You deserved it. Don't you dare try these stunts again." She glared at him.
"I am glad that you gave me a hint of something bothering you and I was able to clear it off." Jalal chucked and cautiously added. "But speaking of that kiss, you were amazing."
"I know" she giggled.
Now that she was okay with some intimacy, his heart couldn't resist the longing. Intense passion and dark desire were taking over his composed self. Shutting his eyes tight, he tried reigning over himself. He was close to accomplishing it when his passion was fuelled to zenith.
Jodha saw the proudly displayed longing in his eyes which followed by tightly shut lids to curb them. But she wanted him to know that she had accepted him.. in all senses. She raised on her toes and placed her lips on his'. She felt shivers running down his body but then he flinched back.
"Don't do this Jodha" He managed to voice out. Discerning how his words would have sounded to the lady in front of him, he rectified "If I hold on to you any longer, I won't be able to stop myself. It's just... too hard... to step back."
"Then don't" she whispered.
Stumped from her response he looked at her with wide eyes.
Jodha continued "I made you crave for me long enough. I need you much more than you do. Make me yours Jalal.. completely. But only after you are done with your punishment." She giggled.
A ridiculous grin broke out on his lips. That was all he needed. His hands pulled her in a jerk, rounded up behind her back and lifted her in his cocoon. His lips claimed her.. all of her marking the beginning of a beautiful life ahead, together.. as one.
Some love stories live forever...
But a fiction has to end 🤣
