Music, Lyrics & Michi

One of the best things about yesterday's sangeet scene was that they finally used the right song for the scene. I don't understand the words of Hindi songs but music is a universal language and I feel that the powers to be usually gets it wrong when choosing the music for Michi. The songs never seem to quite fit the intensity or vibe of the scene. I know many people loved the song used for the 'C' night scene but I thought it was totally off. They started the scene with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam instrumental music playing. I think they should have stuck with that. Another scene were I felt they got it wrong was the tea-stall flash back scene. Chose the absolute correct singer in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan but they should have used 'O Re Piya' instead of 'Jag Soona Soona Lage'. Another thing they need to do is is come up with a signature Michi song instead of just using the Kayamath title track. They absolutely nailed it in KS with 'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak'. In the end it got played to death but it did become synonymous with Jai & Bani. Even Kuch Is Tara is getting it right with their music. The Golmaal song and the hint of 'Tum Se Hi' were absolutely spot on in the scenes they were used. All of this makes me think that maybe KYM is the stepchild of BT and therefore no one pays attention to these things. šŸ˜† In a scene with no dialogues it's the music that can make or break the scene and too often I'm busy thinking 'why this song?!" instead of getting caught up in the Michi magic.

PS. You are all welcome to pour scorn on me for my little rant šŸ˜† but this is my pet peeve of KYM. No wait, my pet peeve is the insane storylines but that's another post. šŸ˜†

BC I actually loved all songs on Michi rather have noticed them more because of them.My list

1.Sau dard hain often played on Michi especially on their first wedding night was very apt.

2.Eik pal key liye hii sahi ghariyan humko mileen makhmaleen pyaar ki....this song was played on their way to the picnic in the car Michi sat and it was so beautiful I know it back to front now cuz I've listened to it so much.

3.Chup tum raho chup hum rahein honestly there couldn't have been a better choice the song complimented their actions especially "Dharti sey amber tak gunjey jismon ka sangeet" was too good.

4.Jag soona soona llagey was so well fit it suited Milind's agony perfectly his pain and anguish. The tea stall scene was a flash back which only increased his pain tenfolds.

5.Rang rang terey rang rang main the Michi engagement was too cute liked it too.

6.Yesterday's sangeet one was fab too "tenu leykeymain jawanga!" so just like Milsi.

Hated tonite's mehendi song was a total put off apart from that all songs on Michi are good and well suited.

Edited to add the Do Pal song during Michi near divorce scenario had me crying literally tears of unhappiness.

I am actually quite satisfied with the choice of songs

I can think of dozen other songs to suit their C-night, but CHUP TUM RAHO was also perfect. Their longing for each other was so profound that no words could have done justice to it! Hence, why not let the silence speak as the bodies intertwine and unite in love....Muneeza's chosen line is my fav too! šŸ˜†

"Khamoshi Ko Khamoshi Se, Zindagi Ko Zindagi Se Baat Karne Do" 😳

Ooh...Baahon Ke Darmiyan would have also been wonderful!!!!!!!
