Suppose the day came.

The day when the world lost connection to its metallic geniuses. Wouldn't there ensue an absolute chaos?

Imagine, you wake up right at eight; oh but, the alarm's gone too! Imagine waking up all sweaty and being exhausted even before you've risen.

Gosh, the food's gone bad now. You better visit the poles if you need solid water! And how exactly would you cook on a stove without gas? Oh the horror!

Only if you'd put the clothes in the machine last night. Now you gotta give them the dhobitreatment!

But then, the water's gone! The city water controller has crashed!

But WHY?

The phone's off and the charger ain't working! Gah, you could've done with the news feed at least!

The balcony feels soothing! You never realized it had been so long since you last stopped here for a breath of air. Ah, there used to be a tree. When did they fell it? Now there's the sun scorching around everywhere. You make to return to your room, but this place is probably cooler than the rest of the house.

Bored with life, you venture out. On your way, you stop, your eyes begin to water, trying figure which way to go. With the phone in your hand life seemed so straight. Well, you had definitely been spared the complexities of the fact that the postbox lies right in your way!

And voila! There's that pani puri vendor you'd loved as a child. Grinning to yourself you go and say hello. After all, you never say no to them gol guppas!

Silence does have a voice of its own!

You've been on your own all day. No music, no pings and no sitcoms. What tranquility!

You thought you were bored while it was just the beginning of what the learned refer to as introspection.

Absence of all the ring tones and alarms and memos made life so simple for a day! There was nothing to distract you while you spoke to little Sweety or when you were cuddling that absolutely adorable terrier! And you thought they were indispensable!

Also when exactly was the last time you slept without wondering whether you're going to miss the alarm? No idea, right?

When you return home on that day, you'll be filled to the brim with new experiences. Little notes among the melodies of nature. Things that you were missing out on,, stuff that life's been trying to grab your attention with!

Of course, dispensing of technology would mean a great setback to mankind but think for a while, aren't making ourselves too vulnerable?

What kind of an inventor is one who would not sustain a single day without his inventions?

As much as technology has made our life easier the other effect is pretty destructive. We tend to forget our surroundings as a side effect of being glued to our technology devices.

Even if we are aware of the real problems, we are still denying the fact. Media has started to take the social scourge seriously by posting articles and campaigns.

Using technology devices for a long time can affect health. Eyes start to hurt and headaches appear... This becomes frequent because the brain is not capable of accepting the magnetic waves as they can be dangerous for health. The pain felt is different from person to person since we all have a different level of using technology devices.

Some studies have given frightening results. Being exposed to a high level of electromagnetic waves can cause panic, disorientation and fear. This happens because the waves attack a particular site in brain and the neurons don't work properly. If we're excessively exposed, the consequences can be more catastrophic: the flow of blood can be dangerously altered or neurons groups can be turned off. Many have experimented different intensities of seizures such as loosing consciousness or slip into coma. The last and tragic consequence is death.

The other problem which is directly related to this new life and our schedule is food and how we can become careless about it. It mainly happens during lunch break when we are doing some work and we eat in front of our screens at the same time. We often eat a quick sandwich. Thus, our body is also affected.

The circle seems never ending; we use a lot, we eat less or more and we sleep less. The natural operation of the body is disturbed.

Using technology devices can make us unsocial. This is quite paradoxical since we mainly use these ways to be in contact with family or friends. Our phones and social networks take such a major place in our lives that we forget to simply go and meet our friend who's not living far away from us. When the previous generation say that their lives were better before, they are right, in a way.

Let us not forget that too much of dependence can change the way we're and can make us look for someone we're not in real life. Some people, especially teenagers want to get acknowledged and they sometimes create fake profiles. Their world completely becomes virtual and it's like they're living in a bubble. Parents are helpless about it as they're also stuck in their daily routine.

Dependence on technology is a social problem that needs to be taken seriously by all of us. If the situation remains like this we might not be able to cure this new illness from the 21st century.

"Mitzi, wake up!"
The 9.8N pull was reactivated as she fell down on her bed with a thud. Ah, the feeling of floating in air while dozing off was cut short rather abruptly as the sonic sensors responded.

"Uh, Mom!", She whined. "It's just one twelfth of earth's rotation!"

Well, for those wondering, it wasn't her Mom but her holographic projection. She opened her eyes.

"Damn, the light's too bright!", She murmured as she stretched her arms to get her clothes replaced with the help of mechanised equipment. And since they were well to do, she also delightfully sprayed some water on her face. Water otherwise costed around 1 million dollars for ten litres.

Mitzi, a budding astrophysics expert was currently working on the study of age old animals like dogs and tigers.
They'd gone extinct owing to radiation poisoning and there was just one sample left which was being cloned into a million other pets through DNA transfiguration. The alarm in her communication device rang off as it was time for her breakfast. Popping a tablet, she set off for her lab.

Her bike, an automated Stellar 279, with wheels replaced by magnetic levitation through superconductivity, was a sensation recently. The streetlights shone over her head which buzzed her off. "I wonder how people managed with the Sun", as she thanked the lead dome again, which essentially covered their city for ultraviolet protection.

Elsewhere, Olfoy was getting extremely late to reach his office as the skyway was jammed. It was nearly impossible to travel by road and water now (which hardly existed). And inspite of having an air loaf to travel, he was stuck.

"Darn it!", He banged his steering. Apparently a drone had crashed into another aero-bridge.

"I don't know how people managed with just one roadway all those years back", he pondered as he paced a bit forward in the air queue.

Was it better then, or now?
