Parul Chauhan aka Ragini of Babul Ka Sapna Bidaai reveals that her real life story is quite similar to her on screen role. Parul, who admits that she is not a very good looking girl, says she had to face a lot of taunts because of it.
"I used to get the same treatment from people for my looks in real life that I get in the serial. I am originally from Lucknow and in the interiors of our country people still discriminate between boys and girls. After my birth, those who came to see me commented ladki hui aur who bhi gori nahi. The only difference in the two is that Parul is very bindaas while Ragini is very subdued, "Parul tells us.
"My grandmother used to advice my mother to apply chanadal flour and uptan to me so that my skin colour will change slowly. She told my mother so many things that initially she got very tense. She followed some and ignored the others," the actress adds.
Even after Parul grew up people used to tell her to apply fairness creams and stuff like that but things have changed now. "My mother has stopped bothering about it. She feels that my skin colour has changed a lot after growing up. Now nobody says anything to me. In fact everyone is happy with my progress. I have bought a new flat for my family as well here in Mumbai. We are soon planning a puja over here. My life has changed totally," exclaims Parul.
In Babul Ka Sapna Bidaai right now Ragini's fairer sister Sadhna has got a job but someone is following her. There is a mystery behind it which is going to be revealed soon. The romantic angle featuring both the female leads will also come in with the twist.
Babul apart, Parul has also done a cameo in the show Kayamath.
