Part 23 : Garlands & Gauze
Getting up from the place where he was, he picked a glass of water and got his phone out of his pocket and talked to unconnected call as he exited from there.
"Hello!"
"Haan! Suraj is speaking!"
"Yeah! Hmm"
'Good job!' his brain praised him.
'Waste fellow!' his heart.
'Mind your words'
And seeing him go away, she left the breath she was holding unconsciously.
'He is really blizzard! Talking about my eyes and all! Something has happened to him! I need to be safe!'
She thought as she got up and made her way back to kitchen to see Girija.
The sisters spent time in getting used to the mansion, the brothers in settling back and Girja on her habitual works while KN started to makes calls for the wedding arrangements.
With everyone in their own thoughts, finished the dinner and settled in the hall with Chakor and Imli in two seaters, KN and Suraj in the middle and Vivaan alone, opposite to the girls.
"Decorators will be here tomorrow morning earlier!" KN said.
"I have called for priest Papa!" Suraj said.
"Ask him to be present here by 6 PM tomorrow, Son! So we can conduct the first ritual of the marriage." with a smiling face.
"Sure Dad!" he said with a nod as he smiled to his brother and future sister(SIL) but his eyes stopped when it landed on the pair of beautiful eyes but as she shifted her view to somewhere, he come back to his starting point.
'What was that? Why this awkwardness?' she questioned herself until she got called by KN.
"Dresses for every functions except marriage will be here by tomorrow morning, around 11 AM dears, you both select whatever you want!" he finished as he saw the sisters affectionately.
"Sure!" both the sisters said in unison.
"And as Vivaan and Imli can't go out after the first ritual, I want you" facing Chakor and turning towards Suraj "you to go after the haldi function in 2 days."
'Yipeee! Alone time!'
'You are never going to change!' his brain said tired of his arguments with his heart.
'I'm all good and lovely, so changed needed in me!'
'Oh really?'
'Of course yes!'
"Yeah! Sure Papa!" Suraj answered while Chakor nodded her head unsure of what to say as the flashes of the storeroom events crossed her mind with the air around her turning awkwardness.
"Okay! See you all! Be fresh!" KN got up and left from there.
'What is going on? Why am I not clear now?' Chakor questioned herself.
"Di!" gaining Chakor's attention, Imli started to talk about all the preparations they need to do.
And Vivaan being Vivaan, left from there while Suraj tried to escape from there but got caught by Imli.
"If she doesn't choose the dress matchingly, you should choose it for us." She said in her own way to Suraj.
"Sure" he assure with a smile plastered on his face as he got up and left from there with an unsure feeling ruling his mind and heart.
Speaking about whatever she wants, Imli made herself and her sister to get to their room to end the day.
"Bhaiya(Brother), this color will go well with that white flower!" Chakor said and turned to the other person who was gathering flower garlands "You take care of all the door around here Bhaiya, I will put on the first floor."
"But Madamji, Sir said to not let anyone to work!" he said.
"Don't worry Bhaiya, I will take care of it!" taking a bucket of fresh flower garland, she turned and went to start her work, one by one.
Starting from KN's room door, she arrived at the closed door of Suraj's room.
"Yes Pandit uncle! 6 PM today! Everything will be ready!" putting his metallic wrist watch, he opened the door in his one hand to see the ladder with Chakor trying to balance herself there as she was taking the support of the door until now, with garlands in one hand and knife in other.
"Be carefu" and there she lost her balance while he lost the balance of his phone, making it kiss the floor in 3 pieces as both Chakor and Suraj made one piece of element with Chakor landing on Suraj with garlands on them and knife from Chakor's hand landed near Suraj.
"Can't you open the door later?"
"How do I know that you were there?"
"You should have opened slowly!" she accused trying to get up.
"You shouldn't have tried to do works which are not for you!" helping her.
"Oh! I didn't see that it was written I shouldn't do this, this and that"
"Ouch!" Suraj as the tread of the flower garlands caressed the cut he got from the knife when he held Chakor.
"When?" She took his hand in hers as she sat with garlands around them.
"Let's first get out of this mess then you can!" he said as he saw she was going to tear her dupatta to treat his wound in his left hand.
"But!"
"It will be easier!"
"Hmm" she nodded.
Holding her shoulder "Get up at the same time as me!"
Getting her nod, both got up and got easily out of the garland.
"First aid box in my room!" he said immediately as she took his hand.
Putting the antiseptic and cotton on the wound, she rolled the small gauze around his ring finger as there was no Band-Aid in the box.
"Sorry! I didn't know it was the knife!" she said.
"It's not your fault!" and he smiled and changed immediately his face "Cut what if it hurt gravely?"
"I'm Sorry!" in a sad tone.
"Heey I was just pulling your legs!" and the smile appeared again "Nothing would have happened as you are not aiming to kill me for now!" as he got up followed by her.
"You are"
"Di!" and Imli interrupted their conversation with a stressed face.
"Haan(Yes) Imli!" turning towards her sister who was analyzing the flower near the doorway.
"Wohh(That) Tina di and Adi" Chakor face crossed 1000s of emotions which didn't went unnoticed by Suraj.
'Who are they?' his mind and heart questioned at the same time.
