Preeta was so worried about him catching a cold, then why didn't she invite him inside her house. She could have given him a towel to dry himself off. Of course no men in her family would mean no clothes to change into, but at least she could have offered him a hot drink?

Maybe she didn't want to worry her family unnecessarily but she could have told them that they were following Sherlyn to get proof and got wet in the process.
