It's been awhile since I opened a topic on this forum. But the current status is such, we all need to went. I love Naamkarann and I think it's one of the best shows I ever saw on Indian TV. The story is well thought out most of the time, the characters are consistent an there is growth in the characters and their relationships. It's not just a love story, there are many relationships explored and the other characters are as important to the narrative as the leads are. No one is a prop.
One of the best things about NK has been the "Non-cliche" way they have dealt with many subjects. ALL of this got me interested in the story. But what "Got" me about this show was Avni and Neil. That amazing chemistry and connection, that electric attraction which still managed to retain a purity and an innocence at the same time. Even their Bhang scenes, they were so cute with the right amount of sexiness in it. They were always so understated, but every scene of their's was impactful. Nothing was a waste.
Neil Khanna was never perfect, but he was a guy you felt was someone to be relied upon. A guy with high standards. He respects women, he believes in truth and justice, and he always helps people who he feels deserves it. Yes he was pursuing Avni with the intent of busting her, but we saw there was more to it right from get go. He always defended Rhea even when she didn't deserve it out of some strange loyalty. But we knew he wanted to think the worst of Avni coz he was falling for her and he didn't want to. That was his way of stopping himself.
Then we see emotional Neil, still talking to his dead GF sometimes. There was a purity in that love too. An untouched quality. I saw the same quality in his feelings for Avni. But this one just felt stronger and the attraction was more visible. Neil is a dream man. He is handsome, has a job, is down to earth, caring, and he's cool. Yes he's a normal guy. But he has always been one step above your average Jo! That is why I say Neil Khann CANNOT have a "Baby Momma!" It ruins that status we have elevated him to in our heads. Yes even Hero's have feet of clay, but Neil is Neil because he is "Better" than other guys. He had a dead ex, it gave him depth and made him even more attractive. But the idea of him having a Baby Momma does not.
So this is my request to NK CV's...at least in fiction let us strive for and keep that touch of Perfection that we have come to love in Neil. Please dont take it from us!
