Regardless, this weekend is going to be exciting! Has Bhrigi's story ever been portrayed by another serial? How he's included is even more exciting;

Yes. Bhringi's story had been shown already in Mahadev. That too exactly in the same way as told in scriptures. So nothing new here except may be new interpretations as per their convenience and creativity.

Though every form is of Adi Sakti there are variations as per the way they are described. When Lalita Tripura Sundari is elaborately described her Sripura has also been described with many goddesses guarding the prakaras of Sri Lalita the concert of Maha Kameswara. The outer Prakara is guarded by Mahakali and Mahakala.

In fact Maha Sambhu and Adi Parasakti does a great sacrifice to invoke Lalita Tripurasundari to kill Bhandasur.

Years back Hema Malini made a show on Adi Sakti's different incarnations and she did it with great conviction.

Anyway to each the vision differs. Agree to disagree . I may not find it convincing...

I've seen clips of Hema Malini's serial. Even though it's dated, it's incredibly impressive and entertaining. Of course, she's also a remarkable performer and dancer.

A lot of this is subjective. Even if we disagree, I'm amazed at your extensive knowledge of and dedication toward the scriptures. That's what should be used as education: your Purana threads. Serials are entertainment. Unless it purported to be biographical (which it can't), the creative liberties would be disappointing, if not egregious.

For some, it's difficult to view Mahakaali as just entertainment. And understandably so. After all, the Puranas and Vedas are revered and beloved. But I don't think it's this serial people will turn to when they want to learn about Kali or Shakti. That's like watching The Avengers to learn about Thor or the Hulk. It's the canonical sources. I think it's fair to say most, if not all, members look forward to more of your threads.

Yes the first few episodes were extremely rushed; but the show is picking up since Lasya Tandav episodes; for few Sati track was rushed but I felt the makers just highlighted the important part of Sati track they might hv thot people would not be much interested to see Sati track in detail; yes the track was distorted as Sati was always a devotee of Lord Shiva; but the makers wanted to gv a different touch to it; I personally feel mythology shows aired on television are not the right place for viewers to learn about their respective God/Goddess almost every mythology show is distorted; MB was great but it was also highly distorted though widely appreciated as well same go for Mahakali; it's distorted but it's widely being appreciated as well; just today only in Indian wiki media gv it's rating to all shows of 2017; in rating Mahakali and another show only manage to get 4 ratings out of 5. So genuinely viewers mostly look up to mythology shows and entertainment together but such shows not right place for viewers to learn about scripture and Vedas.
And I think season 1 might come to a closure by the end of this yr; the show is mostly abt Parvati self journey and her discovery. So Adi Shakti is shown in this season or we get to see nxt season only time will tell

I agree that Kali and Gauri are both forms of Adishakti and the show is about Mahakaali but still I don't like that Kali is shown all the time. My knowledge of mythology is limited but from what I know Kali is a fierce warrior who is capable of creating a havoc as shown in the first 3 episodes of the show. She is the raudra roop of the Goddess. Now it seems like Parvati just changed to Kali as and when she wished like its a armour. So I really don't want Mahakaali to be shown during the Bhringi sequence.
But anyway i love the show. Pooja and Saurabh are really good . Also i like the present pace of the show. Waiting for Mahishasur and then the birth of Lord Ganesha.

Also i agree that shows cannot go on exactly as per the mythology. Creative liberty has to be exercised for better entertainment. But I think the writers could try to avoid too much distortion.

Okay, this might be a bit of a ramble and not to point. Apologise in advance.
From what I have read and understood, Parvati is essentially the human form of Adi Shakti - the Primordial Goddess.
She maintains human form symbolically so that Mahadev who is vairagi is constantly in touch with the trials and tribulations of the world/engaged with sansaar.

The questions that Parvati poses, is a 'Leela'. In the sense, that with her questions and actions she forces Shiva to share knowledge. Many shastras are said to originate from the conversations between Shiva and Parvati. As Adi Guru, Mahadev gives the answers to questions posed by Parvati, which results in the knowledge being sent down to "us".

Unfortunately, the way it is portrayed in the show is that she is unaware/fearful/?, but the 'leela' part is what I have gleaned from many writings; and which I feel is more in line.

In many places I have read that Mahakali is the most loved aspect of the Goddess for Mahadev - and for the first time in a show they actually have Mahadev saying it. I would have liked if they could have elaborated on this. It would have been lovely to have this point given more footage, as the show is called Mahakali.

Do agree that the cvs are just gussaoing Mahakali in anything and everything, but then for most this is just entertainment, and in such a situation anything goes.

I am trying to be totally zen about it, but not very successfully.

Parvati has indeed gradually recognized herself as Adi Shakti. It's true she hasn't explicity acknowledged or recalled it, but addressing herself as Jagat Mata (at least to me) points to a growing metamorphosis. Additionally, she now consciously and intentionally becomes Kali, and consciously and intentionally returns to Parvati.
Canon sources vary in how Parvati acknowledges herself. Usually, she doesn't immediately know. That's what the serial has used. They're building on it, though; after Bhringi, it seems like Parvati is going toward manifesting entirely as Adi Shakti (hopefully to destroy Mahishasura).
