Part 9
Raman's POV:
Yeh toh wahi Ishita hai whom I had meet in the art gallery. She is the only girl I was thinking about. Aaj tak kabhi bhi kise bhi ladki ke baare mai maine itna nahi socha tha jitna maine Ishita ke baare mai socha tha. Us din mai uske sath aur time spend karna chata tha aur pata nahi kyu but woh feeling bahut accha laga tha muze. Jab bhabhi ne muze woh radhakrishna ke painting dikhaye and bola Ishita ne gift kiya hai I was 100% sure woh yahi Ishita hoge and I wanted to meet her but it didnt happen. Bhabhi ne infact kaha bhi tha tabhi agar thoda jaldi aata toh I would have meet her and muze confirm bhi hojata yeh wahi Ishita hai but to my bad luck aise nahi hua. Ab muze use jaane ka chance mila hai lets see if she is really upto my expectations. I really want her to be at my expectations and woh bilkul mere types ke hai but Brain alerts him: "Arey Arey ruk Raman beta itne kis baat ke jaldi hai tuze?? ruk jara first meet pe usne chaar acche baate kya kar liye tu toh use apna jeevan sathi banae ke sapne dekh raha hai!! Tuze use baate karne hai uske views jana hai so wait!!
Ishita's POV:
Aiyyooo yeh toh wahi Raman hai whom I had meet and maine unko salesperson assume kiya tha!!! Ohhh shitt I hope he do not remember about that incident. Mai kaise baat karne wale hu unse how embarrassing yaar!!
They both comes out of their thoughts when Simmi asks all to settle down for tea. Everyone settles down near pool.
Param (decides to speak up): Bala teen mahino pehle socha he nahi tha agle mulakaat aise hoge apne. But accha lag raha hai.
Bala: Bikul sahi kaha tune Param kabhi socha he nahi tha. All thanks to Vandita and Simmi agar yeh dono ek dusrse se nahi milte toh hum shayad kabhi nahi mil paate.
Simmi: Hehehe kuch bhi Jiju. Waise amma aap itne shaant kyu hai?? Aap thik ho na?? Aapko kuch aur chaye kya??
Iyers knew why madhavi was silent but Madhavi speaks up: Aise nahi hai kanna its just travelling se thoda tired hu but ab tum sabse mile hu dekhna hojaunge normal.
Mr Iyer decides to come to the topic as Iyers wanted to know about Raman. Madhavi signals him to speak.
Mr.Iyer: So Raman what are your views about marriage?? Mai isley puch raha hu because tuze abhi yeh contract mila hai and hum sab bahut kush hai is baat se...toh age kya karne ka iradaa hai tumhara? Any more career plans??
(Listening to this Ishita becomes attentive as she wanted to know his plans what are his expectations and thinking)
Raman: Appa actually jab se maine sab samajne laga hai aur jaise jaise mai bada hota gaya maine bhai aur papa ko dekha hai and they are always whom I idolize so mai unke jaise bana chahta hu. Bas yahi dream and focus hai mera. Abhi jo contract mila hai this is the first step towards my dreams abhi aur bahut age jana hai aur sabse bada dream hai to maintain this contented smile on their faces ise bada focus toh aur kuch nahi hai.
Iyers were getting impressed the way Raman was expressing his thoughts and how much he loves his family.
Where as Bhallas were proud of their upbringing. Mr.Bhalla had tears in his eyes to listen this.
Madhavi was still not satisfied with this and most of all how will their daughter will be treated in this family so she decided to speak up.
Mrs.Iyer: Mrs.Bhalla ke guzar jane ke baad aap sabne kaise sambhala apne aapko? Mai jaante hu ke bahut difficult hota hai..kya aap...
Before any one could speak Raman took the charge as this is very sensative topic for all Bhallas as Toshi was loved by all.
Raman: Amma to be very honest hum sab maa ko bahut jada miss karte hai Maa ke jagah koi nahi le sakta kyunki maa nahi hoti toh hum nahi hote aur humara yeh parivar nahi hota. Aaj hum jo kuch bhi hai woh sirf unke wajse hai. Aur aapko pata hai maa ke guzar jane ke baad hum sab bikhar gaye the life mai kuch motive he nahi raha tha aisa laga tha ke sab khatam ho gya aur tab bhabhi ne maa ki jimedari utha le hum sabko sambhala ghar ko sambhala agar aaj hum sab ek hai toh maa ke waje se aur unke jane ke baad use kayam bhabhi ne rakha. Unhone ne kabhi bhi maa ki kami ka ehsaas nahi dilaya. Woh sirf is ghar ke bahu nahi hai woh is ghar ke support system hai!! Woh mere sirf bhabhi nahi Maa hai woh mere. She has made so many sacrifices for us.
Mr. Bhalla: Raman ne bilkul sahi kaha Simmi ko bahu bula he nahi sakte hai woh hum sabke jaan hai. Usne aapne sare jimedari bakhubhi nibahaya hai. Bahut kuch sacrifices ke hai usne aapko pata hai she was the Technical Engineer of Bhalla Industries. But Toshiji ke jane ke baad usne office ana band kiya. Woh kehte hai family is her first priority. Hum aaj bhi use wapas office join hone kehte hai but woh nahi sunte. Ab bas hume humare dusre beti bhi waise he chaye jo ab humare simmi ko thoda relaax hone de sake kyu simmi thik kaha na maine??
To which simmi blushed she had tears in her eyes. She knew that the family members love her alot but after listening all this she couldn't control her emotions.
Iyers were completely in love with the family bond and all their doubts regarding Ishita's happiness were cleared. Ishita was completely lost in their sayings she didnt knew how to react after all this, all she did was looked at Raman and same time even Raman looked at her and both shared a brief eye look which expressed many emotions. Ishita was first to break the eye lock and shly looked down where as Raman had a naughty smile adoring his face.
Now it was Bhallas turn to know about Ishita. Mr. Bhalla asked Param to speak but he signals Mr. Bhalla to only speak.
Mr. Bhalla: So Ishita beta tumhe joint family pasand hai ya nuclear family?? Tumhare kyaa ryaa hai joint family ko lekar??
Ishita: Muze dono apne jagah sahi lagte hai. Pros and Cons toh sabka hota hai uncle but hum use kaise handle karte hai that matters the most. Mere liye parivaar size se matter nahi karta bas parivaar ke sabhi log mil julkar rahe. Apne haar sukh dukh mai ek dusre ke sathi rahe. Mai bachpan se joint family mai nahi rahe hu but mere friends ko dekhkar I always wanted to live in joint family. Joint mai humaare sath humara pura parivaar hoga chaye sukh ho ya dukh ek dusre ke madat karne ke liye humesha hote hai they dont judge us! I agree joint families mai bahut fights hote hai lekin agar chote badona ka aadaar kare and sanmaan kare, apne galti hue ho toh uske liye beizijhak hokar maafi mange aur bade choton ko pyaar se samjha kar unhe maaf karde toh fights kaam honge. Maine apne parivar mein bachpan se yahi dekha aur sikha hai aur mai ise tradition ko age prochahit karunge.
Bhallas were impressed by Ishita her thoughts and nature while Iyers were completely proud of her. Being a mumbai girl she respects her values traditions is something which was commendable. Mr. Bhalla now wanted Ishita to be their daughter in law.
On the other hand Raman was impressed by Ishita's words listening to her his doubts of any wrong girl coming in the family was cleared and he was mentally told his brain that why he was soo sure that Ishita is the girl for his family but brain again taunted what about you then?? She is going to marry you and not the family so better dont jump to conclusions!!
Like this all were having light chit chats and both the families started loving each other. After a while simmi realises Ishra needs their space to talk and says: Papaji hume toh Ishita pasand hai par shaddi toh Raman and Ishita ko karne hai, inhe decision lene ke liye kuch samay akele mai dete hai taki wo bhi ek dusre ko jaan paye afterall final decision toh unka hi hoga akhir unhe zindagi bhar saath rehna hai.
Mr. Bhalla: Muze koi aitraaz nahi hai Iyer sahab apko kya lagta hai??
Mr. Iyer: Ji ha muze bhi aesa hi lagta hai bachon ko ek dusre ko jana ka mauka dena chaiye.
Simmi: Toh chalo run run the "Would be couple permission mil gaye hai. Iseka wait ho raha tha na kabse???
Raman with a shy smile gets up along with Ishita whose cheeks were already red due to blushing. Both started walking with different thoughts going in minds. Raman was thinking what talks they will have with he didnt wanted to make her uncomfortable while Ishita was nervous and her heart beat was increasing with rocket speed as she was having no idea what she is going to talk with Raman and what Raman will ask her.
They were just walking and walking, Raman realised that they need to stop as they have already walked quite long!!
Raman: Ishita muze lagta hai hume yaha ke garden mai baithna chaye warna hum pura goa ghumke ayenge aur pata bhi nahi chalega.
Ishita (smiling): Hahahaha kuch bhi!! Haan chalega we will sit here.
With this Raman cleaned the bench in the garden so that both can sit properly. Ishita liked this sweet gesture of Raman and Ishita added +1 for Raman.
After settling down their was a complete silence as both didn't knew how and what to talk.
Raman saw Ishita was completely nervous which is quite obvious and decides to take the charge but before he could speak anything...
Ishita: I am really sorry!!!
Raman: Sorry??? Kyu kya hua??
Ishita: For the misunderstanding in the art gallery that day.
Raman: Ohhh God Ishita!! tum abhi bhi uske liye sorry bol rahi ho?? Woh baat ab kitne purani hogaye hai and by the way mai yeh bhool bhi gaya tha aur ab tum bhi use bhool jao.
Ishita smiles and nods in agreement for the same.
Raman: But trust me us din jate jate maine aesai he bol diya tha phir milenge!! and not in my wildest dreams hume ne socha hoga ke hum milenge!! aur milenge toh bhi aise!!
Ishita (slowly getting comfortable): Bilkul sahi kaha aapne. Maine bhi kabhi nahi socha tha aise bhi hosakta hai.
Raman: I genuinely don't know hume abhi kya baate karne chaiye but kuch cheeze hai which I want share hope you dont mind??
Ishita: Arey isme mind Karen ke koi baat nahi yes you can share and even I will talk about the same warna hum ek dusre ko kabhi samaj he nahi payange. Abhi humara mai intention he wahi hai to understand each other. (Ishita decides to take a step ahead) So Raman friends??

Raman (Happily): Kyaa baat hai!! I like this!! Friends!! (and both shakes there hands and speaks): You know mai abhi shaddi ke liye mentally prepared nahi tha mera focus abhi sirf apna career banane ka hai. But jab maine bhai aur bhabhi ke sath baate karne laga I realised the importance of this. I realised ke mere is safar mai muze ek sathi ke zarurat hai aur bas use sathi ke talash mai hu. Toh ab tum sach sach bolna are you ready for marriage??
Ishita: Same!! mere bhi aise he situation the and you know mere liye bhi utna he difficult tha to decide about my future. Mere liye yeh dono equally important hai aur ab mai ready hu not for marriage but to start a beautiful journey with my soul mate!!

Raman (admiring her): This means hum dono ke halat ek jaisi hai.. but you know mai humesha se career oriented ready to chase her dreams wale life partner expect ke hai and I am glad that you are doing this.
Ishita: Means mai agar shaddi ke baad apna job continue karna chati hu toh apko koi problem nahi hogi??
Raman (smiling): Muze kyu problem hogi!! jaise mere dreams hai tumhare bhi dreams and aims honge kuch aur yeh tumhara right hai use pura karna mera farz hoga. And humare ghar bahut he modern thinking wala hai!! Bhabhi bhi toh karte the work in our office toh tumhare liye koi kuch nahi bolega ulta tumhe motivate karega.Tum aaraam se apne career pe focus kar sakti ho but not at the cost of the family because mere family mere liye bahut important hai!!

Raman: Pleasure is all mine (and bows down showing imaginary cap) he further continues: As you know Ishita I am hard core punjabi toh I drink but that does not mean mai bevda types hu aur roj peeta hu!! Woh toh bas kabhi friends ke sath ya fir parties mai hojata hai. Aur mai humesa hosh me rehta hu I dont over drink so I hope its fine.
Ishita: Agar mai aapko drink chodne bolu toh kya aap chod denge??
Raman (honestly): Frankly possible nahi hoga..but that does not mean ke mai try he nahi karunge!! Yes I will try to avoid it. But once in a while toh koi problem nahi hoga na?? Actually hum typical punjabies hai toh drinking ke bachpan se adaat hai hume.

Ishita: I was about to ask you about any such habbits you have and I am glad ke aapne muze sab sach bola naaki koi jhooti tasli de taki mai koi hopes build up karu. Trust is very important in any or infact every relationship and I am happy that our friendship is being crystal clear.

Raman: Ohh yess!! Yeh bilkul sahi kaha tune even I hate lies and dont like to give any false hopes. Secondly I smoke once in while jab mai bahut jada stress ya tension mai hota hu. I know this will not give me any solution but hojata hai muzse. I am not at all addicted to smoking and trust me I m working on quitting on it but nahi ho raha hai.
Ishita: Aise kaise nahi ho raha hai?? Agar koi bhi problem hote hai use aapno ke sath share karne hote hai hume solution milta hai and support bhi milta hai...yeh smoking se what sastification you get haa?? Next time when you are in any problem you can share it me..and trust me I wont judge you.
Raman (Smiling): Hopefully! Waise tum toh pure veg ho na?? ya kabhi kabar non veg kha lete ho with friends?
Ishita (making faces): Never ever not even in my dreams I m pure Tamil Brahmin mai kabhi bhi non veg ko touch karunge.
Raman: Agar tumhara pyaar karne wala khae to and if he asks you to make it and also asks you to eat it kya tum woh karoge??
Ishita: Agar wo muze itna he pyaar karta hoga toh woh muze aise sab karne kabhi bhi nahi bolega he will respect my choice. I trust you Raman on this aap muze aisa kuch bhi karne nahi bologe jisme I am not comfortable.

Raman: Itna bharosa muzpe?? Kya baat hai my charm is working on you!! I know I know tumhe baatne ke need nahi hai!! I know mai bahut smart aur handsome hu!! (Ishita was just laughing at his antics he continues): Waise koi boyfriend tha kya tumhara??
Ishita: Kyu?? Suddenly yeh pucha?? Will my answer change your decision??
Raman: Obviously no!! Maine toj aweii puch liya if you are not comfortable then its it's fine and sorry agar tumhe bura laga...
Ishita (smiling): Aap haar baat pe itna kyu sochte ho yaar and sorry kyu?? Its ok mai samjte hu aajkal sabke bf gfs hote hai and all isley you are asking.
Raman: Because I don't want to hurt you intentionally or even unintentionally.
Ishita was in complete awww with his thoughts and + 1 again!!
Ishita: Thats so sweet of you Raman but I don't think aap purposely muze ya kise aur ko hurt karoge so relax!! aur rahi baat boy friend ki toh sach mai uske liye kabhi time hi nahi mila pehle studies then masters aur ab job!! Time hi kaha hai yeh sab ke liye aur maine kabhi yeh sab ka initiative bhi nahi liya.
(A big smile appered on Raman face after hearing this)
Raman: I know you will not ask me but mai phir bhi mein bata deta hu meri bhi koi girl friend nahi the actually mera bhi same scenario tha time hi nahi mila and infact mere friends ko lagta hai ke kahi mai woh toh nahi as mai girls mai itna interest nahi deta (making faces)
Ishita: What?? Aise hote hai bahut baar but ignore!! and starts laughing loudly with holding her stomach
Raman was lost in her as it was first time he has seen her laughing whole heartedly he composed himself and spoke
Raman: Thank you so much for thinking my problem so funny here my whole character is at stake and you are laughing!! Poor me! (Trying to act innocent)
Ishita (composes herself): Actually I was laughing at the expressions you made while telling kitne irritated dikh rahe the and I couldn't control myself. Sorry!!
Raman: Ya Ya its ok!! Maaf kar diyaa
Ishita: Raman can I ask you something?
Raman: Yess Ofcourse.
Ishita: I love my family very much after marriage I have to leave them and shift to a new house but I have some responsibilities as a daughter of that house and I want to fulfill those I know anna and bhabhi hai but fir bhi mai chahti hu mai bhi amma appa ko help karu jab bhi unhe mere jarurat ho.
Raman: Yeh toh bahut acchi baat hai jaise mere liye meri family important hai tumhare liye bhi tumhari hogi and tum life mai kabhi bhi unke help kar sakte Ho you dont need to take any permissions from anyone. Aur agar humare shaadi hoge toh woh hum dono ek honge toh tera aur mera aise kuch hoga he nahi its going to "Ours toh hum jo bhi karange milkar karange.
Ishita: Thank you so much!! Mai abhi bas itna he bol sakte hu aapse.
Raman realised situation was getting emotional and decides to lighten the atmosphere.
Raman (with naughty smile): Acha jo tumne waha joint family ke bare mai bola wo dilse tha ki papaji ko impress karne ke liye bola tha??
Ishita (smirks as she got his intentions): Same!! Mai bhi puch sakti hu apne bhi jo bola woh mere amma appa ko woh dilse tha ya impress karne ke liye tha?
Raman: Intelligent haan!!! Mera question muze he chipkaya but you know I like intelligent girls and winks her
Ishita shyly puts her head down and before raman could speak further he gets call from simmi to ask there whereabouts thats when they realized that its 8 pm and all are waiting for them in farmhouse.
