I had no expectations for this show when I saw the promos and did not want to watch it. I was bored out of my mind one day and decided to look for something to watch on Hotstar. Viola! It gave me a recommendation to watch this show and I've been hooked to it ever since. This show amazes me to no end. I'm completely bowled over by the ensemble cast who are doing such great justice to their characters. Kudos to the writers of this show for coming up with a gripping storyline. In the era of the same old saas-bahu sagas, Rishton Ka Chakravyuh is refreshing and realistic.

Coming to this forum, it is blessed with so many amazing writers itself. I really love reading the posts being made here. I don't know if I'm doing justice to the show and it's remarkable characters but I would love to hear(read) your feedbacks.

Anami - The Mirror, The young Warrior

The long lost twin. The estranged girl child banished from Royalty the very day she was born to live a peasant life. Her Shraad Pandit, Pagli Panditayan and Laddoo became her little world; blessed with foster parents who taught her to stand her ground and gave her strong values. Mercilessly thrown back into the Lal Mahal by her birth mother who suddenly wants her back in her life. Far too mature for seventeen years, she may be vulnerable but will never show it. Taking over the Lal Mahal by a storm with her daredevil attiude. She will hold a mirror before you, show your true self which you desperately seek to hide behind the mask of being shareef. She will not stand injustice and will try to uncover sketelons safely tucked away in the closet. But when night falls, all she wants is to hear her Pagli Panditayan's soothing lullaby and feast on her favourite dahi chawal, still a child.

Satrupa - The Lioness, The Matlabi Mataji

The one with seven forms (or faces). The artful Queen of the palace. Rightly named Matlabi Mataji by The daughter she had abandoned. Will not tolerate Anami being called a bas***d but gave her away, chose the son over the daughter and never looked back. But she was a good mother to Vatsalya and would go to roots of what happened to her precious boy. She oozes power and command; a true lioness. "Strike when the iron is hot" and strike she will. The minute she sees a soft corner she will use it to her advantage. She chooses to be the way she is. She will kill someone without batting an eye. Residents of Lal Mahal beware! But at the end of the day, she reminicises the vivid memories of her precious boy cruelly snatched away, desperately wanting to sing with him again. Solace in symphony. Will she ever be a good mother to Anami? Only time will tell.

Narottam - The underdog here to win

Shunned. The illegitimate child who is half man, half woman. A cloud of mystery around him. He is abused, berated and taunted by every member of the family including his own father, who would not stand up for him. He lurks in the shadows of the Lal Mahal. Bottled up with rage. He keeps count and will give it back when the time is right. He does not forget. Beware! Uses his status in the royal family to his utmost advantage and will play you like a fiddle. He knows who you are and what you are. Ultimately, he only craves for one thing - Acceptance.

Baldev - The powerless King

King of the Lal Mahal on paper. His one mistake in a heat of passion costed him the trust of his father which has still not been restored. Feigns ignorance and indifference to everything happening around him. Jealous that his father trusts his wife more than him. Couldn't he give him a chance to prove his worth? The last thread holding his marriage together was also gone. He need not be civil with his wife anymore. He finds courage in the poems penned down by his son, who tells him not to wash the memories of him through his tears. He will hold on to that. The grieving father denying paternity to his own daughter.

Pujan - The Master of Minds

A trickster with a million tactics up his sleeve. A slave to his brain. Manoeuvreus his way out of any situation. Gloats at small victories. He is constantly covering his tracks and ensuring they stay covered. A heartless and conniving person who will go to any ends for the royal wealth. He has read your weak points and knows when to push your emotional buttons.

My take on few of the characters. :)

You got an awesome post here Sherlock-ed! 😆
This show definitely came out as a surprise. A good one at that too! I saw one promo too, and pretty had that "Blahh~~ - oh Praneet is there! - but Blah" reaction. Because I was also super bored like you and in desperate need of some distraction, I watched the first episode on the first day itself (Blah reaction and still watched it, this much boredom! Can you believe that??) Anyway, the first few episodes were good, but still I didn't absolutely started loving the show until I figured that they'll gonna rock it in the music section and how strong and clever these characters are.
Now coming back to your post, the little character analysis is pretty good. I didn't think of Anami as a mirror, but what you said here makes sense! She has been pretty much a mirror telling everyone how they're in real. Lol I loved how she told Adhiraj that he's a two faced person 😆
Satrupa is totally a lion here! Protecting her cubs and ruling her kingdom, even though a lot of them living in the house wouldn't like to agree~ She's also protecting her child so that her child can be the next ruler.
If we are referring to animals, I will add Pujan as the snake here. The snake's clever and lulls his captive projecting himself as the innocent one. He hisses to the ones who comes too close to his truth (Adhiraj for example) and bitesthe ones who tries to take away what snake believes is his. This snake bites and kills. Saam, daam, dandh, bhed, all the way ----- 😆
I like how you referred to Baldev being jealous, because YES he soo is!!! Baldev loved or love Satrupa? Blahh. He's jealous of her. Period. Jealousy can make u hate someone u loved once so at this moment he's definitely not fond of Satrupa. She got all the respect, love and control, that was his "right". So, at the moment he probably wants her to go through the feeling of being thrown away from her position and see someone else, Pujan in this case, on it. He wants her to go through a similar humilation and hurt that he's been going through all this time of their marriage.
Narottam's the underdog definitely. And he wants acceptance too at the end. But as Satrupa said, he needs to fight his own battles. He's been trying to fight by using other house members, and is becoming obvious in his revenge and dreams. Not his fault, because as he said nobody will listen to him. They don't even treat him like a human being, so why will they take him seriously, right?
Now, I would love to see you analyze Sudha 😆 Her obsession with Red color and Red Mahal is something to watch 😆 The way she refers red to the color of death ("matam" as she said) and fire from which she's planning on burning the Red Mahal down---- :-!

Hey! Thank you. I had the exact same "blah blah" reaction too. 😆

I think that is the beauty of Anami. She does not beat around the bush. She will say things you do not want to hear, things you know that are true. Force you to look at yourself.

Satrupa is such a complex character and it's an absolute treat watching her. Narayani brings life to her.

Oh yes, Pujan is definitely the saap. Hahaha, he is well-versed in Chankya Neeti. 😆

Baldev cannot stand the fact that his father gave the empire over to her. He never had a chance to prove his worth. Satrupa was, is (currently strained) and will always continue to be in control of their relationship. He has no say.

I just cannot wait to see how Narottam's character develops. I love the mystery around him. Yes I agree that he has to fight his own battles. I think he has learnt his lesson and will be extra cautious in his next move.

I still don't have anything concrete on Sudha because she is being too vague, but I love her references.

Man, this is such a brilliant show.
