Coming to this forum, it is blessed with so many amazing writers itself. I really love reading the posts being made here. I don't know if I'm doing justice to the show and it's remarkable characters but I would love to hear(read) your feedbacks.
Anami - The Mirror, The young Warrior
The long lost twin. The estranged girl child banished from Royalty the very day she was born to live a peasant life. Her Shraad Pandit, Pagli Panditayan and Laddoo became her little world; blessed with foster parents who taught her to stand her ground and gave her strong values. Mercilessly thrown back into the Lal Mahal by her birth mother who suddenly wants her back in her life. Far too mature for seventeen years, she may be vulnerable but will never show it. Taking over the Lal Mahal by a storm with her daredevil attiude. She will hold a mirror before you, show your true self which you desperately seek to hide behind the mask of being shareef. She will not stand injustice and will try to uncover sketelons safely tucked away in the closet. But when night falls, all she wants is to hear her Pagli Panditayan's soothing lullaby and feast on her favourite dahi chawal, still a child.
Satrupa - The Lioness, The Matlabi Mataji
The one with seven forms (or faces). The artful Queen of the palace. Rightly named Matlabi Mataji by The daughter she had abandoned. Will not tolerate Anami being called a bas***d but gave her away, chose the son over the daughter and never looked back. But she was a good mother to Vatsalya and would go to roots of what happened to her precious boy. She oozes power and command; a true lioness. "Strike when the iron is hot" and strike she will. The minute she sees a soft corner she will use it to her advantage. She chooses to be the way she is. She will kill someone without batting an eye. Residents of Lal Mahal beware! But at the end of the day, she reminicises the vivid memories of her precious boy cruelly snatched away, desperately wanting to sing with him again. Solace in symphony. Will she ever be a good mother to Anami? Only time will tell.
Narottam - The underdog here to win
Shunned. The illegitimate child who is half man, half woman. A cloud of mystery around him. He is abused, berated and taunted by every member of the family including his own father, who would not stand up for him. He lurks in the shadows of the Lal Mahal. Bottled up with rage. He keeps count and will give it back when the time is right. He does not forget. Beware! Uses his status in the royal family to his utmost advantage and will play you like a fiddle. He knows who you are and what you are. Ultimately, he only craves for one thing - Acceptance.
Baldev - The powerless King
King of the Lal Mahal on paper. His one mistake in a heat of passion costed him the trust of his father which has still not been restored. Feigns ignorance and indifference to everything happening around him. Jealous that his father trusts his wife more than him. Couldn't he give him a chance to prove his worth? The last thread holding his marriage together was also gone. He need not be civil with his wife anymore. He finds courage in the poems penned down by his son, who tells him not to wash the memories of him through his tears. He will hold on to that. The grieving father denying paternity to his own daughter.
Pujan - The Master of Minds
A trickster with a million tactics up his sleeve. A slave to his brain. Manoeuvreus his way out of any situation. Gloats at small victories. He is constantly covering his tracks and ensuring they stay covered. A heartless and conniving person who will go to any ends for the royal wealth. He has read your weak points and knows when to push your emotional buttons.
My take on few of the characters. :)
