Hi

I can see that a lot of people feel a little peeved about the fact that Dev has kind of taken a backseat as far as his wife and family is concerned and is quite happy being a house husband so to say. They are upset about the fact that Sona has been portrayed as the competitive one or the superwoman or someone who is stubborn or always thinks she is right and hence does not want to give up her job. I have only one thing to say about this It requires a supremely confident person to give up their business for a while and being housebound and let your spouse pursue a career imagine someone who has always shouldered the responsibility of running his business and being very very successful at that and giving all of it up for spending time with your children and wife.

Sona never wanted to be perfect in my view. Its just that her father always saw her as perfect and she felt obligated to keep up the faade. Its just that Dev and Sona's views and outlook to life is very different. She is naturally very competitive and Dev is not competitive as far as Sona is concerned. He is living life the way he wants and not how the world wants him to. Remember that scene just post the leap when he takes away Sona's award I always felt that he took it away because he was very proud of her achievements and not to spite her. He simply did not want to admit that he was proud of her then. Dev has always been the kind of man to support his woman in every way possible and Sona has been the kind of woman who would stand by her man come what may.

They both made mistakes along the way but now are in a very happy space after long now.

They both want to live life on their own terms.

Come on lets admit don't we all want someone who looks at us the way these two look at each other without saying a word!

Looking forward to start of the new season!!

Cheers

Asha

I might be wrong here but let me just hazard a guess as to why people are peeved. As Shaheer said in his interview that the fans were unhappy that the end of the show was sudden and it did not have a chance to show a proper closure and that's why on the demand of fans they are back this time for a short span and hopefully have a proper closure.
Now as we had seen in the last season a lot of tracks were left unresolved, be it the prenup truth, the boses knowing about the eviction truth, the struggles of Sonakshi for seven years, Dev's girlfriends, Vicky & Ex-GKBs crimes, Ronita's jewellery theft truth etc. This season the makers have a chance to close out at least a few of these if not all. But from the segments and the interviews of Shaheer and Erica it seems like this season is going to be about the missed moments of Dev during Soha's' childhood. There is absolutely nothing wrong in that but if they can close out a few of these tracks it will be great. It does not need to be all saccharine this season.
Now coming to the segments where Dev is shown as house husband and Sonakshi handling her business I absolutely have no issues with it as long as both are happy with it. As you rightly said for Bijoy Sonakshi is always perfect and Sonakshi felt obliged to maintain that facade I hope she is not doing it for that reason.
I will comment in detail about the whole track only once it is aired.

Just my POV, no offence.

SP 12, I was not sure if I should respond to your post or not, but finally decided to do it. 😊 .

As you and Asha, said Sonakshi might not have wanted to be perfect, but it is Bijoy who demands it. But by agreeing to maintain that perfection facade, Sonakshi is still being blinded by Bijoy and his dreams for her as opposed to her acting as per her wishes. After the series was closed, I spent time rewatching old episodes. In that one thing that stood out was Sonakshi was not averse to house work or learn cooking or be a housewife. But it was Bijoy who constantly rebuked her for trying to learn cooking or do anything other than pursue her career. He is the one who demanded that she achieve this professional excellence. He told her it was beneath her to be a housewife.

He is one of the reasons why Sonakshi feels inferior to Dev and wants to do things so that she is on the same footing as Dev in professional sphere. This is her way to define equality. But by Dev being a homemaker, he is showing that there is nothing wrong in learning to cook or take care of kids. What I mean is one doesn't have to work in a professional field and gain that name and fame to feel like they have accomplished and achieved something in life. A homemaker is not someone who is nobody, they are as much accomplished as any of the ones who have made a name in professional sphere. It is makers way of saying don't treat homemakers as someone who are good for nothing. They also bring a lot of things to the table and have a lot to offer.

Ishwari was a homemaker who was forced to go out and look for work. She was forced to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Asha, dida, Neha and even Ronita are also homemakers. But it doesn't mean that they are any less accomplished than Sonakshi. Conversely even though Elena is supposed to be a photographer, Vickky constantly taunts her of not being accomplished, as not having achieved anything. He was even shown to call her good for nothing in some of the episodes.

I have nothing against working woman or it is not to negate their importance or any such thing. What I am talking about is about what one wants to do. Whether being a homemaker or a professional should be a woman's own choice. A woman shouldn't have to work because she is forced to work. She should be given the choice of being a stay at home mom. A stay at home mom should not be considered any less than a working mom. And it is not just a working mom who deserves all the accolades. I feel this is makers way of saying that give the same respect to homemakers as you would to a professional. I remember this woman who applied to a job after around 10 years break had put in her resume that she was a nurse, an artist, a storyteller, a negotiator , a teacher, etc. She had listed like having learnt 15 -20 skills in that 10 yrs break. When the interviewer questioned how she acquired those skills, she said being a mother taught her those skills. When her kids fell sick, she was the nurse, she was a teacher when she taught them everything be it from ABCs to learning how to sit or walk. She was a negotiator between her kids when they fought etc. The interviewer was very impressed and hired her. And for me she is one accomplished person.

And as I said in the analysis thread, the themes of the 3 blocked episodes are intertwined in these tracks. Even what they showed in the segment is part of the theme in one of the blocked episode. In the episode with muh dikhayi, there is one scene where RR says that Sonakshi might have been "dreaming" about diamond necklaces or marrying to affluent familiy. Sonakshi replies that she never "dreamed" of diamonds, but had always "dreamed" of fulfilling her father's "dream". This track is for her to differentiate her dreams from her father's dream. And the series might begin with saccharine sweetness to begin with, but i am sure it will not be that all the way through. The blocking of those 5 episodes was deliberate from the makers perspective. And that is what the makers are focusing on. Unblocking those episodes. And those three episodes are what is related to the unfinished tracks that you are mentioning.

With Dev doing what he is doing, he is trying to relive the last 7 years. All others like Sonakshi,, Ishwari or Bijoy would love to move on and forget the last 7 years as they don't want to take responsibility of what happened 7 years ago. They just want to forget it so that they don't have to introspect or make amends. But by Dev trying to relive those 7 years, all others are now forced to look back as to what happened in those 7 years and retrospect their actions. By Sonakshi seeing Dev trying to get back the lost time with the kids, will have to question herself if she did right by not telling him about Soha. With him enjoying with Shubh, she will be forced to introspect if it was right of her to give maami the importance she gave. Bijoy on his side because of Sonakshi's introspection will be forced to question himself as to how accurate was his judgement of Dev or the Dixits. The makers are cleverly keeping the focus on the 7 years and the events that led to breakup.

I trust the makers. 😃

Actually it all depends on which state you are in career or personal life currently.
Dev has already achieved a lot professionally and is able to manage successfully without even visiting office for 7yrs..so taking break now is not a big deal for him. Also he missed Soha's time..so wants to spend maximum time with him. Sona is doing wat every working women does...balancing work n kids. Specially business woman or women in leadership roles, cant disassociate with work completely and start working very soon post childbirth. I find Sona ambitious n practical like any common working woman n dont see her being extremely competitive or blinded by Bijoy's idea of perfection.

Coming to the part why people are apprehensive is bcoz of experience with past tracks..everyone wants Dev Sona to work as one team..together managing both kids n work. I want Dev to work from home instead of completely taking a break from work n Sona to strike a balance between work n home. Thats it...together is d key word. They could alternate days going to office..n there are many practical ways of showing this. Hopefully the track is all about both learning how to strike a balance.

Why I am not overJOYed is the fact that we never saw a glimpse of how Sona handled raising Soha without Dev n when she was starting her new business. Even Sona wudnt have enjoyed Soha's childhood as much coz she was burdened with responsibilities. I so desperately wanted to see her story, struggles n how she transformed from Sona who firmly believed in work life balance to workaholic Sona. So this time with Shubh I thought both Dev n Sona wud together take care of Shubh for each n every little thing.

CVs are focusing only on Dev's feelings n POV whereas Sona's pov has been ignored in almost all the tracks post leap. Track after track we only see how Dev was miserable for 7yrs without Sona but Sona's story completely overlooked as if she had it all too easy. I dnt want to see crying n over emotional Sona but atleast some scenes where we could see what pain she went thru and how she overcame them n how she has become so strong now. Eviction was one of d major reason of separation...but Sona never questioned Dev about it..n forgave Vicki also so easily which just not justify the whole separation track.

Even I was waiting for some clarification on the eviction between Dev/Sona but I think that one episode when Vicky was asked to leave was where they closed the case. And now that everyone is at happy place, how they will show Sona's POV is a question. Maybe it is all over and done with. Let us wait and watch. I trust the story.
