Kaveri is buttoning Pratiks shirt. Babuji walks in and is smiling
and jolly, he tells Pratik that after 40 years he has made some soup
with his own hands specially for Pratik. Maharaj smiles. Babuji
jokes as he admires his soup that we dont even need Maharaj anymore,
Maharaj jokes back saying ''haha who were you asking all the
ingredients and recipes for then''. Khan comes in and he and and
Maharaj have their usual cat-fight. Pratik gives an empty smile.
Rakesh and Avinash come in carrying a television for Pratiks room.
They smile and talk cheerfully. Bua and Malini come in with a
statuette of Gopalji and Bua smiles and says ''my son doesnt need a
television, hes very intelligent''. Yashoda and Rimjhim come in with
flowers for Pratik, Yashoda tells him to ask her for anything he
needs. Everyone is mega-happy. Pratik starts to weep, Rimjhim and
Babuji declare that no crying is allowed. Pratik tells them he loves
them and they altogether the whole family say ''we love u Pratik!''.
Outside Pratiks room, the whole family are discretely standing
around and each of them is sobbing their eyes out. Everyones mega-
sad. They're all crying so hard they look as if they are going to
flood the room. A crying Rimjhim puts her hand on Babujis shoulder
but Babuji wont stop his sobbing.
Pratik is in his room with a sad empty look on his face and he just
looks around abit and lays his head back on the pillow (not much
else he can do, i feel like crying).
Durga finds Chotu (Prems friend). Chotu is playing cards with some
of his fellow friends. Durga goes to Chotu and tells him that he
wants some information. As Chotu is gambling with cards he tells
Durga to give him 400rupees, Durga takes it out and Chotu gambles
further. Durga says he wants to know about Prem, Chotu tells him to
give him another 400rupees, Durga hesitates at first but Chotu tells
him ''You want information'', Durga hands the 400rupees. Chotu
gambles further and Durga gives more cash, Chotu loses it all. Chotu
then tells Durga to meet him somewhere tomorrow. Durga agrees and
then goes away. Chotu is suspicious.
Rakesh is talking on the phone to some guy called Matthew and Rakesh
is quite agitated. Yashoda comes along and asks him whats up. Rakesh
says that his cargo is stuck in singapore and it needs to get to
America. Rakesh says that he may need to bribe some people but that
wont look good if the americans find out (or something like that).
Yashoda tells him to just be careful and think before he does
anything, because of Pratiks situation. Rakesh says he has to give
the bribe and hope for the best.
Babuji is sitting there and Maharaj brings him his fourth cup of
tea. Maharaj thinks that he has had enough. Khan brings in the poor
Agarwal mill workers that Pratik helped. Babuji greets them and they
say they havent come for anything but only to ask Pratiks condition.
Babuji says that Pratik is doing well for now. They say that they
have brought some stuff for Pratik. One of the workers gives Babuji
oblations from Sai Baba's temple for Pratik. One of the muslim
workers brings holy threads and such from his mosque and another
whos sikh brings things from the guruwala and tells Babuji to put it
by Pratiks bed. Babuji thanks them and asks them to meet Pratik but
they refuse, Babuji asks them to stay for dinner and they again
humbly refuse. They then leave with best wishes.
Kaveri is in Pratiks room just straigtening his bedsheet or
something, Pratik is in bed sleeping. The television in his room is
on and someone is interviewing Pratapji (the bad politician who is
responsible for Pratiks paralysis). Pratapji is being interviewed
because he has just been appointed minister of the party. Pratapji
says that he has been put into this high position because of all the
work he has done. Kaveri suddenly looks at the television and her
anger begins to bubble. The interviewer goes on to ask Pratapji
about Kaveri and how he is Kaveri's godfather (mentor). Pratapji
says that he doesnt know Kaveri and she probably spread those
rumours to better her career. Pratapji is asked about the Agarwal
mills but he says he has no involvement with Agarwal mills and thats
Kaveri's department and again one of her rumours. Pratapji continues
to damage Kaveri's reputation on television. Rimjhim comes into the
room and puts her hand on Kaveris shoulder and tells her to calm her
anger and stay out of politics. Rimjhim turns the television off and
tells her to concentrate on Pratik. Rimjhim leaves the room. Pratik
opens his eyes and has heard everything. He tells her that he wants
her to ''fight Pratapji, not because he paralysed me but because hes
a bad man and the more power he gets, the worse it is, as he is an
enemy of this country''. Pratik asks her to fulfill his dream.
Pratik then says that he wasnt joking that day and he wants to die,
because otherwise she will never fulfil his dream and he wants to be
free of his helpless life he leads. He pleads with her to kill him
and he keeps saying it. Kaveri is shocked. Babuji has come into the
room and shouts ''Pratik!!''. Babuji looks terribly hurt and shouts
at Pratik for saying such things. Pratik repeatedly pleads for them
to kill him.
