No Hollywood offers for Deepika Padukone?

What's worse is that her latest attempts to prove her market value in the West are falling flat too.

Even while word is that she's been turning down Hollywood projects, the fact is that Deepika Padukone hasn't received a single international offer since xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. This, in spite of her best efforts to woo the West.

Says a well-informed source, "Deepika did everything possible to get herself the success Priyanka Chopra got in the US. She hired the best Hollywood agents and got superstar Vin Diesel to promote her. But to no success.

What's worse is that her latest attempts to prove her market value in the West are falling flat too. A source close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's forthcoming magnum opus Padmavati says, "Deepika's latest attempt to prove she's still in the reckoning in Hollywood is a laugh. Her publicists have claimed that she lost a lead in a romantic Hollywood film' because she was busy in Bollywood. How vague and laughable is that claim! As far as we know, she was never offered any international film after xXx.

Deepika Padukone is allegedly struggling to break Hollywood - despite Vin Diesel's help

The Deccan Chronicle cites a source as saying that the Bollywood star and her team have been trying to rise her stock in tinseltown after the success of xXx: Return of Xander Cage - but with no luck.

"Deepika did everything to make it big in Hollywood, like Priyanka Chopra, their alleged insider claimed.

"She hired the best Hollywood agents and even got superstar Vin Diesel to promote her. But to no avail.

They added: "Deepika's latest attempt to prove she is still in the reckoning in Hollywood can't be taken seriously.

Indeed, it was reported earlier this month that her ensemble romcom role had to be dropped because of work for Padmavati, which has only just wrapped filming.

A source told India.com at the time: "She had to let go of the offer since the producers wanted to start filming this year and start workshops for the actors from August onwards.

She was a hit in xXx: Return of Xander Cage earlier this year

"Since Deepika is still neck deep into Padmavati, she wouldn't have been able to take out time and therefore gave it a pass.

Express.co.uk has contacted a rep about the whole story.

She is, however, expected to be invited back to the xXx family for the next film in that franchise.

Director DJ Caruso confirmed last month that the plan is to make a follow-up, following the movie's huge success overseas - particularly in China.

Serves her right. In urdu there is a saying..."Kawa chala huns ki chaal apni chaal bhi bhool gaya". If PAdmavati flops she is over in Bollywood as well. She just ruined her career like Karishma did in 1998 by taking a year and a half long break.

Hollywood doesn't really make any offers anyway. Even the top actors have to audition for roles most of the time.

She didn't make a big impact in xXx and she has a terrible accent. It was always going to be difficult for her.

Why bother when she can make as much money from BW? Deepu still beat Priyanka even after all the boasting about being a global star and getting international endorsements like Pantene and Gap.

She did fail in HW.
Now she better concentrate on Bollywood. She made enough impact here when she worked last time. 3 out of 6 nominations were hers in almost every award show back then. People have fortunately not forgotten her but they will if she won't work soon. It's high time that she claims that position back by doing some good work.
