I can't help but wonder at Satrupa's motive in finding Anami and in reinstating her as heir.

I mean, this is the same mother who pulled the trigger on her own head after Vatsalya's loss - because she had nothing to live for. And she knows why she's lost her son: for the Royal Steel inheritance, etc. Any sane mother would surely (now that Baldev has separated himself from her, well verbally) hold on to her surviving child and hide her from certain death.

But instead, there goes Satrupa's to dig out her daughter from safety and drag her into certain danger... All for what? If the killers could get to her beloved son, they can surely get to her daughter.

And then what... She'll be left with less than nothing!!

Unless of course Vatsalya is still alive but in a coma or suchlike, and she wants to safeguard the fortune for him for when he returns.

Or unless it is to prevent the inheritance from falling into the hands of Avdhoot and Pujans clan. So revenge then... Stronger than love?!?

Or unless she wants to resuscitate her almost dead marriage... But is that more important than the life of her surviving child?!!

Or unless the gurus diktat is absolute... And we know it's not otherwise Satrupa would have given up her son those many years ago.

Either way, I am yet to come to terms with her motive. One thing seems a little clearer, that Amani is little more than a pawn to her at this point.

Concern for Anami must have warred with her lust for power, money, or revenge or blind obedience to her Guru in that endless night. But it fell short somewhere. Which is why Anami is fronted now into the fray.

I have to confess I am intrigued as I wait for the motive to unfold.

i think maker will later justify all her act of greed of power as facade but the reality is she wanted to save royal still and the labourers working over there just like in mahabharta krishna justified the wars because kauravs are adharmi

because there is no doubt that satrupa love her daughter not more than her son but not less than him even

and i feel anami main reason of staying here later even will be vatsalya as wehave seeen how she has got connected with him and how much she was concerned for the raksha sutra which he have given she has just gott conneccted or just started to love the person and innocence in him more than anything

later even when vatsalya willl come she will not leave the power so that she can protect him just like satrupa everyone will not understand her and that time anami will understand her mother and both will start to bond

Hey Gaushiv thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I agree @ the maker will justify later... Am expecting some of the reasons - some because this is a clearly complex and morally ambiguous - to reveal themselves slowly. I don't want it to be about the practicalities of jobs saved and greed, but more spurred by love and concern for her children. Let's see how it pans out.

@ anami will stay for vatsalya: I agree. Although it's the threat to her family initially, the enduring reason will be her brother. She will want to stay to revenge him and also to learn more about him - al that she missed of that relationship in her childhood.

What I am also looking forward to see is if she bonds with anyone else in the house. Baldev? Or will she compare her biological parents with the ones who raised her and always find them wanting...

Finally an amazing post from you👏

I'll go with the first being the most likely reason Satrupa decides to bring back her abandoned girl.

She has no clue that her son was murdered. And she and all believe it was an accident that happened due to her son running off etc etc

Now why I think reason one, is that I think the women in this family are only for child-bearing reasons and have no say in the matter. May it be Gayatri or Pujan's wife. This could be one of the reasons she had to give away her girl child. At the same time if you compare what status Satrupa holds to the other women including Gayatri, its different. She is kind of given more power...and as good as second to Dadaji. The only reason could be that Satrupa has contributed in a big way to the Singh coffers, crown etc.

So for her to safeguard that wealth and place for her kids and pass it on to their lineage of generations would be right. Bringing back the girl child now makes sense then. Its like Satrupa passing on the power to her daughter in the absence (maybe temporary) of her son.

Yes in the course of all of this power play...she does come to love her girl-child eventually. But for now its not love at all.

We saw a bit of softening of Satrupa's character is today's episode... as a mother fighting for her daughter's right. It does not go with the original 'satta' promo.

After seeing today's episode, me thinks it might have been Sudha who may have captured, kidnapped and kept Vatsayla hidden somewhere. In some dungeon or something. That woman is crazy!

Another good episode...and the crown turns to ashes!

Agree with you about it not being overtly about love...the initial dash to get Anami was a panicked reaction. But then Satrupa spent a night mulling over her decision, and I am thinking that there's some complexity going on... She seems to have weighed a few pros and cons. Somewhere she is convinced that she is doing the right thing. And so far she has treated Anami with consideration. So yes a lot going on with this decision.

And then there's Satrupas characterisation. A lot of shades here. Powerful, loving, vulnerable, caring, tough... The decision would be typical of that too.

After today, looks like the makers will only reveal this bit by bit. I am still intrigued.

Agreed, Bohemian. She's never going to let Avdoot displace her child. She hasn't let Narottam thrive, there is no chance shed let Avdoot take vatsalyas place.

About the softening, despite all her toughness, Satrupa has a softness that's becoming more evident with each episode. She can sing and indulge her son. Cry when Baldev wounds her with his barbs... Only not in front of anyone. And yet she gave up her daughter!!!

So much more than meets the eye! 😃
