FROM PARVATI TO KALI
Her long tresses flowed around her
Her skin shown like a thousand moons
Her eyes lined with khol, filled with deep love,
Her lips curved up, as she gently smiled at her beloved devotees.
But, As she heard their cries,
Her fingers clenched,
The beatific smile twitched and snarled,
Her eyes burned red, with fire,
Her skin shimmered blue and then black
Her forehead was smeared with vermilion,
Her tresses now tangled and matted,
A dark Halo it created,
She stomped her feet,
And the Earth shuddered and creaked,
And Deep from her throat,
Shumb Nishumb heard her
Terrifying roar.
