Epilogue"You are my happily ever after.""O bete ki." I was sure my mouth was in a perfect O.
"You like it, Mrs. Anika Shivaay Singh Oberoi?" Shivaay who reached my side whispered against my ear.
"Just Anika." I smiled. "Like it? I absolutely love it billuji." I squealed with delight.
We were at the terrace of the Oberoi Mansion which a beautifully decorated. In the middle was a table for two with a flower vase and a bottle of champagne on it. I looked around to see our photos hanging around.
I stepped forward to went towards the nearest photo frame. The one where I had fallen on top of Shivaay on the floor. When Priyanka had gifted me high heels on my birthday. I wore them and tried walking around in the room. But then lost my balance and fell right on top of Shivaay. I smiled at the memory.
I moved to the next frame. Shivaay was drenched in water and I stood there my hand outstretched, holding an empty jar. The time we had a huge argument over something really silly. He had said something in his tadi that had angered me. And what was next? Splash!
The next frame, where Shivaay and I were hugging Sahil. He was playing around the Oberoi Mansion when he tripped over his crutch and fell down banging his head on the pillar. His head bled and he had fallen unconscious. We were so scared that something happened to him. But then he opened his eyes and we hugged him tightly.
I looked around looking at all the frames. There were so many. Each frame had a special memory with it. When we first got married, little did I know that we'd come this long. I wasn't even sure if our marriage would last. But here we are. I wiped away my tears.
"This is so so so beautiful Shivaay. But- Where did you get all these pictures from?" I looked at him confused who was standing at a corner with a proud smile on his face. He slowly walked towards me.
"Khanna."
"Khanna?"
"Yes, Khanna. I recently found out that he is fond of photography. I got all these pictures from him." He said.
My mind went back to the time I had confessed my feeling to Shivaay.
"Shivaay, aapko pata hai. I've been wanting to tell you something for some time now."
"I know." He muttered smiling.
"Huh? Aapne kuch kaha?" I asked.
"Nahi toh. Tum bolo kya bol rahi thi?" He said smiling wider. I eyed him suspiciously but continued,
"Woh.. In everyone's life there is someone who's really important to them. Who mean the world to them. Who is their strength and their weakness too. Their happiness is your happiness and their sadness is yours. Aap samajh rahe hai ki main kya bolna chah rahi hoon?"
He stepped closer to me, his one hand on my cheek. "Haan Anika. Main sab samajh raha hoon." He smiled.
I swallowed. I didn't realise it would be this hard. "I love you Shivaay. I love you." And I buried my face in the crook of his neck.
"I love you too, Anika." He pulled me closer. "I love you. I always have. And always will."
We stayed that way for a few moments before pulling away.
"Aapko pata tha na, ki main kya bolne wali hoon?"
"Haan. I heard you yesterday." He chuckled. I looked at him shocked. "So you were acting like you were sleeping?"
"I was sleeping, but when you started talking to me, I woke up."
"Then why didn't you say anything Shivaay?"
"I was waiting for you to accept it and then confess it. I know that you know that I love you. That's why I wanted you to take the first step this time. It was important Anika. And see, you took almost a month to digest the fact that you love me." He laughed.
I smacked his arm and walked near the pool.
"Shivaay, when did you-" I stopped mid sentence as Shivaay knelt down on one leg in front of me.
"I know under what circumstances our marriage happened. And I feel really bad about it. There were a lot of misunderstandings then, but now that everything good." He took a small box from his pocket and opened it. A simple yet beautiful ring in it. He stretched his hand forward. "Will you marry me again, Anika?"
I clasped my mouth. I felt like I had all the happiness in the world. Tears rolled down my cheek. I nodded my head vigorously and placed my hand on his. He slowly put the ring on my finger. He got up and wiped my tears away.
"Don't cry Anika. I can't see you crying." I smiled and he pulled me into a hug. At that moment everything fell into place. It felt perfect.
He snapped his fingers in front of me bringing me out of my thoughts.
He grabbed my hand gently and pulled me towards him, as I crashed into his chest. Both my hands resting on his shoulders. He moved closer and whispered, "Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary, Anika."
"Aapko bhi Shivaay." I said, our foreheads now resting against each other.
And just then we heard the camera click.
We didn't move but whispered to each other at the same time, "Khanna!" And we laughed.
