Hello!

I know it has been 2 days since Friendship day but for me it's everyday!
So Happy Friendship Day buddies!

So a small info before you read this part!
Our innocent lady will be referring to soaps and their characters.
All the name are only imaginary! If any similarities with real serial or characters you know, sorry!
And the second info is that this part is almost 6000+ words! So ready as you wish!

As he entered the room, he turned around and closed the door and locked it.

- This is going to be difficult.
Awkward situation and me never hangs out together. -

As he made slowly his way inside his normal size room, he saw her bend her head as much possible as she can.

*** What is going to happen now?
Why is my heart beating like this? ***

Not knowing where to start and how to talk to her in this situation, he clears his throat gaining her attention as she lifted her head under the veil to face him, still sitting in the same position her mother-in-law left her.

After few seconds of hesitation, he opened his mouth "Be comfortable, I will be in balcony! Call me!" in a calm tone but his heart was racing like a bike with the reason of not being prepared for this situation. He made his way to the small balcony attached to his room not giving a glance to her.

- It's not like I'm talking to her for first time but this is new and I feel the need to know what she thinks about me, our marriage, being here. -

*** Why my life is like this?
Doesn't he like me? ***

With a sad expression she started to change while the person in the balcony had his thought process which was calculating the events of the day.

Well, before this morning, she was someone he just knew, may be someone with whom he had a simple conversation, may be someone who might happen to be his friend if the situation didn't turn like this.
But now, she is his wife, the person with whom he is not only going to share the roof but also the room and indeed the bed as he can't arrange anything to sleep on the floor and more than that his life.

- 5 years I wasn't staying here permanently and I can't even afford a sleeping mattress.
I don't know how she is going to feel to share a bed with a man who she has smiled twice and talked once.
A man a lot elder than her. -

As his work place is far away from here, he comes to visit his family occasionally since the time he left his house and his room.
And the last time he came was for Diwali.
Even for his own marriage, he came back only 2 days before the special day and stayed at his uncle's house which was near the mandap and went through all the rituals from there only.

Inside the room, while changing her dress in to a simple sari, she entered her world of soaps and started to compare her life with it.

*** Is life really like serials?
A sudden marriage. Don't know if it's a marriage with full consent!
Don't know what he thinks of me!

I'm not the person he first choose.
But from the moment I came in front of his parents, along with Chachi, I accepted this marriage.
The moment he tied the knot, I accepted him as my husband.
But now, I don't know if he accepted me as his wife?

Doesn't he like me?
What can be the reason if he doesn't like me?
His likes and my age! Maa and Papa were 8 years different if I remember, so if they were happy, we too can.
So it must be that he doesn't like me.

That's the reason, he didn't do the normal things like removing veil, hold my hands or ask me if I'm missing my mother's house even if it's not one for me.

May be I should wait so that he can say to go away from him. ***

Her thoughts continued and she had a reason and he too had one.
They need to start somewhere.
They both don't know where to begin and with what.

She hoped he will start but seeing him distant, her feelings got worse than what she felt when she was alone in the previous house as here she is his wife, a person who was and is last in his option. He liked her cousin and here she is his wife. That is not what she dreamt of.

*** He will never accept me! He liked Imli Di and I'm just a substitute. ***

All her wishes of happy life crumbled down.

He hoped to speak or to hear her say something but neither him nor her were having courage to speak.

- I accepted to marry the person of my parents' choice but with the person's consent.
I thought Imli was interested in this marriage but no! I should have talked to her.
And now I'm with my wife.
I thought to give the person my whole life from the moment she steps in my life and that's what I'm going to do even if she wants to go away from this relationship. -

His thoughts were interrupted by the knock and when he turned, he found her with her eyes cast downwards.

"Please wait here!" he asked as he moved out and she nodded as a response.

Once he changed into something comfortable, he asked her to come back.
Closing the door of balcony and pulling the curtains, he asked:
"Do you want any specific side on the bed?"
She shook her head at the right moment he turned.

As she waited for him, she recalled her alone nights in the mattress in the store room.

*** Why am I shivering with the thought of sleeping?
It's not like we are going to hug like Ram and Latha on their first night together.
And I don't even know if he is leaving me to use his bed because he pity me or because he has no other choice. ***

He settled on the left of the bed and laid down with his arms under his head, watching the ceiling.

She slowly moved to the other side of the bed and laid there with all care she could take, facing the wall.

- Why is it difficult to talk to her now when I have screamed on her before?
Is this normal? May be time will get her to speak to me or me to her. -

He switched off the light thinking to give her time to feel free to speak as she didn't even say one word since the marriage.

Minutes passes, she waited for him to speak to her but nothing came, as she turned to see him, she saw him sleeping with a visible frown on his forehead.

*** Am I not wanted here?
Why didn't he say anything?
May be because it's my first day here.
He will also treat me like Chachi and Chacha. ***

She closed her eyes with these thoughts which made a tear drop slip from her eye.

Next day morning, she woke at her usual hours and saw that she was alone on bed, in a new place.
She twisted and turned as she analysed the room as the events of yesterday came back to her.
Getting her mind back, she got down and made her way towards the balcony listening to the sound of metallic objects colliding with the floor and nothing else as she has removed her bangles and anklets the previous night.
As she came in front of it, she find him working out there in his gym vest.

Coming back to our hero, its his routine to do exercise everyday and especially whenever his mind is mixed up, exercise helps him a lot!

*** This is the reason why he looks young like Krishna from Videshe se vapaas(Return From Foreign).
He looks more like 24 than 27 or 30 now! ***

Standing near the door frame, holding it, she is keenly watching every moves of his, him doing push ups with his toned out muscles and sweats sliding and shinning everywhere visible.
She felt something new churn inside her.

*** Wow! What is that?
I had seen Krishna exercise and even his friend Zain do exercises like this but never felt like now.
Is it because he is my husband?
May be yes! ***

With her thoughts going all over the world and eyes fixed on his partially covered body, she put her force on the door and it creaked and immediately she bent her head seeing him catching her watching him.

*** What is he going to think of me?
I didn't do that wontedly. ***

Not knowing what to say or talk to her, he got up and put a towel over his body as he entered their room.
"Bathroom on the left!" he said after finding his voice.
"Hmm!" her heart started to beat faster than before as he passed by her.

He pulled a tee over his body and excited the room!

- What was that feeling that I got seeing her all flushed?
No nothing! It's just my illusion.
She doesn't like me!
She is here for her family sake. -

*** That is how Ganga from Pyaari(Lovely) felt when Varun held her wrist but here we didn't even touch and I'm feeling my tummy burn. ***

Thinking about her feelings, she made her way towards the bathroom and got ready before getting down and that too to find him reading newspapers while no one was there.
She went into the prayer room where her mother-in-law brought her yesterday and prayed before going to kitchen to see the only person she talked with since the moment she got married, her mother-in-law preparing tea by adding sugar in tea cups while her father-in-law joined his son in reading newspapers.

"Call me Maa dear!" Radha said immediately as Madhu addressed her as 'Sasuma(MIL)'
"Ji... Maa!"

*** Maa, I got another mother for my whole life if he accepts me else I don't know maa. ***

She smiled and asked "Did you sleep well last night?"
"Hmmm" she nodded.
"If you have any problem or discomfort, tell it to Rishab or me."
"Ji Maa!"
"So! You are happy here?" even if the question was formulated in an affirmative way, it stays a question.
"Hmmm!" she answered not knowing what to say or if it's correct or not to say something.
"Did you both talk?"

*** He talked to me? Yeah, he asked me to get changed and the bed side. And what did I do? I hummed.
It's also a discussion as showed in 'Pativrata Patni(Devoted Wife)'. ***

Coming to a conclusion, she nodded as she started to flush without the knowledge of why.

Radha smiled and passed a plate with 3 cups.
"Serve them and you too have it!" she nodded and made her way to the hall.

"Thank you!" Mohan said as she neared him with the plate, leaving her anklets sound in the house "He went upstairs."
She smiled and climbed the stairs with delicateness.
As she entered their room, she saw him buttoning the last button of his shirt and folding the hands.

She approached him with the tray and moved the tray in front of him with her head bent.

- Doesn't she even want to speak to me? -

*** Why he is seeing me like I'm a ghost? ***

He picked a cup saying "Thank you!" and she smiled shyly.

- Finally! She is at least smiling! -

*** Does a 'Thank you!' have this effect? I didn't know!
Maa! Have you ever smiled like this towards Papa?
I don't remember!
Yeaaah Kamini smiled like this when Zahir said thank you in the Darga!
So, I think it's normal! ***

Drinking her morning tea, she climbed down the stairs and went on to prepare the breakfast as per the rituals.
Serving the god in first place, she got back to the dining table to see her new Maa serving breakfast to her husband and her new Papa.
Nearing the table, her eyes were fixed on him and his reactions, analysing every bit of it to see what he thinks about her cooking.

*** God! At-least now, he must smile or yell at me saying what he thinks about these dishes. ***

Taking the first bite and swallowing it, he directs his eyes directly to her which made her bend her head immediately.

- Should I appreciate the food is suberb or just smile?
What is the best way to communicate that I liked it?
Is there any book in market on How to talk to one's own wife when it's an arranged accidental marriage?
Someone help me! -

"You are blessed with amazing cooking skills dear! You have beat your Maa's cooking!" Mohan said licking his fingers while Radha smiled at her and launched daggers to her husband.
"I just felt like my Maa's taste in them. When you will taste, you will also say the same Radha Ji!" Mohan added "Take this dear!" giving her a small box with his late mother's jewels.
"I think our Son will return double the size the next time they come back!" Radha said playfully as Mohan laughed as he got up from there.

- I too think it will happen if she decides to stay with me and I stop doing my routines! -

*** I will cook for him all he wants and even learn new dishes if he wants me to stay with him. ***

"Chagan and Shiku wanted me to come to our old school! I'm going there Maa!" he said to his Maa as he got up "I will be back by evening!" hearing that he will not be there for whole day, she lifted her head and saw him.
He nodded at her as he made his way out of their mansion, while she was standing there lost in her thoughts to know what to do or how to react.

*** If we were like Raji and Umesh, I would have also went to send him off but here we didn't even say a word.
I mean I didn't say a word to him since the moment we married.
Why can't I get my voice when he is here?
Chachi asks me to keep quiet when I was in their house and here I can't even pronounce a word without hesitation.

Maa! Please help me! ***

The new duo: Daughter and Maa talked over breakfast and throughout the day without any interruption as Mohan went out and they were the only two living beings in the house.
Radha showed their family pics and shared few family traditions and heritage history with her new daughter in the same way her MIL did with her.

*** Maa is really easy to talk!
She is completely different from what they show in TVs!
She is liking me and I can see that in her eyes and talks but Ji is the important person!
If he doesn't like me, I will loose her too. ***

They were preparing dinner when he came back and freshen up in their room and got down to see his wife talk and smile happily with his mother.

- Happy that she is getting along with family.
If only I could know what she thinks about this marriage and me. -

As he pulled a chair, she got back to her silent mode seeing him and started to help her Maa with the serving.

*** Why can't I be myself in front of him? ***

- Am I scaring her? -

"You too sit Dear!"
"Maa! You" she started but couldn't finish.
"I will also join! You sit first!" she tried to sound authoritatively but with a smile which made her effort to go down the drain.

She took the only place which was by her husband's side as her MIL was standing by her FIL's side and the chair there.

Just the simple action of her being close to him made his heart to start pump faster like what he realised last night and same thing happened to her too.

*** We are just eating but why am I feeling goosebumps?
Moreover we were more closer than this on the bed, I mean we shared a bed.
And that time nothing happened apart from the fact I thought my heart was going to come out. ***

- I want to know her and her feelings. Let her feel free for this 1 week here with family.
If she wants to talk, I will else I will wait for the moment she is ready to get to know each other well. -

Lost in his train of thoughts, he ate a piece of chilly and started to cough.
She panicked seeing his eyes watery and couching.
His mother was massaging his back while she passed him water with her trembling hands.

*** Why am I feeling stressed seeing him like this? ***

After calming down, he again caught her for the 2nd time of the day looking at him as if he has just came from another world.
"I'm fine!" he said as he saw a sad look on her face.
She nodded and resumed eating.

Finishing the dinner, they all headed towards their own room.
Rishab and Madhu were in the same position as the night before.
She was facing the wall while he was analysing the ceiling as they were on their bed.

He cleared his throat to gain her attention and she stiffened realising he didn't sleep yet as she was about to turn to face him.
He turned to face her and said.
"We will leave to my work place on Saturday!"
"Hmmm" she hummed as she turned to face him in the dark and she can see that he is already watching her moves after adjusting to the view.
"Are you regretting marring me?" he asked her.
She shook her head negativly as an answer and he can see that as his eyes were already adjusted to the darkness of their room.
"Do you want to stay here with Maa and Paa or come with me?" he asked her with palpitating hearts.
"They aren't coming with us!" it was more like saying to herself that if she goes she will be living alone with him while in soaps it was always a big family.

- Finally speaking to me! -

*** Is it good to stay in a big family or alone?
Oh Maa! He wants me to go with him!
He accepted me!
Thank you Maa! Thank you so much! ***

Feeling happy that she is at least speaking and reacting to his words, he said:
"I live there alone since 5 years and now if you want, we will be together. We will come back whenever you want."
"I thought wife stays with husband!" she murmured to herself but he heard her.
After a few seconds, she asked him "What should I call you?"

*** I don't even know how to call him!
Ji is when I will address him but I don't know if he will like that! ***

- Is the meaning of that question is she accepted me as her husband?
Is she having problem with the age gap?
That must be the reason she is asking this question! -

"What do you want to call me?" liking this conversation with her.
"Hmmm I never thought about it!"
"In that case call me Rishab!"
"No No No" praying god with her had folded asking forgiveness for making him even think about calling her husband with his name.
He chuckled seeing her actions and asked what is she doing.

"It's a sin to call husband by their name!" she said in her kitten voice.
"Where we are going to live, it's normal! And even here, it's becoming normal nowadays!"

- May be by calling by my name, we will get a new start for our relationship! -

They continued to discuss over the subject for few more minutes before coming to term that she will try to call him by his name only when they are alone.

"Good night!" he said.
"Good night!" she repeated.
"Tell my name Madhu!"
"Hunnn"
"My name!"
"Good night Ri...Rish...Rishab!" turning to other side.
He smiled and said "Good night Madhu!"

- Is this the new beginning I was waiting for? -

*** He is really good! ***

The next day was same as the previous one and for the rest of the days before they arrived to his apartment.
No! Not his apartment! It's their apartment now.

"Do you like it?" he asked as they came out of the only room in the apartment.
"Hmmm"
"If you want to change something, you can. It's our apartment."

- Hope she feels comfortable here! -

*** He is really caring! Thank you Maa & Papa for sending him as my Rajkumar ***

After making her take a tour of their apartment, he helps her to settle down.

In the evening they made their way to the shops and bought a new phone for her.

- She is not only childlike but innocent too.
I need to help her to get used to this city and this new situation. -

*** He is so respectful.
Taking care of me.
Buying things for me and by my wish.
I feel like I got back the life I lost years back. ***

The day ended with the same note they were used to since the night they started to interact.

Giving her the needed instruction for help, he leaves her alone in their apartment after having breakfast.
Once she closed the door, she started to clean the house and then went to kitchen to cook lunch for her.

*** Maa! I'm really lucky that he is here with me, taking care of me and my needs.
But why aren't we behaving like Hari and Swathi from 'Pyaar Karo!(To Love)' where her husband hugs her whenever she is in the kitchen, holds her hand and talks sweetly.
I mean he too speaks sweetly but it's not the same.
Should I do something for that? ***

Thinking about her favourite characters' lives and comparing hers to them made the day eventful for her.

"How was your day? Did you go out and talk with others?"
"Nice! I didn't go!"
"You will get bored if you stay 24h at home! Make friends! I will take you one day for my office party, you could make friends with my colleagues or to my match where my friends' wives will be there." making his way to their room.
She nodded.

*** He is so sweet! He must have been a TV soap actor! Exercise in the morning and cricket matches!
I'm so happy that I will get a chance to see what Chacha watch on TVs! ***

"I have football practise thrice a week! I will be back by 8 PM!"
"Foot...Football?" with a questioning look.
"It's the sport I play with my friends! We need to mark points in the opponent court to win."
She nodded trying to understand what he is saying.
"One day we will watch a match! I will explain you them!"
"Okay! Thank you!" she smiled and asked "What do you want for dinner?"
"Do as per your wish Madhu!" he said as he picked his sport bag and bid her bye before exiting their apartment.

Like this their life started to go smoothly and 1 week flew.
They started to interact with small small talks, something simple, more like long last friends or as 2 distant strangers who share a bed just to sleep than a couple who live under the same roof.

She started to talk with her neighbours and especially their children.

*** Life here is different from what it was when I was with Chacha and Chachi.
Here I feel like I rule this house.
He has given me all the things I need without me asking him.
But I don't know what I should do for him apart from cooking and keeping the house clean and neat! ***

- I need to think about what she can do for herself.
I need to talk to her about what she has in mind for her future.
She is my wife but more than that we have become good friends in this 2 weeks time. -

"Do you want to go for a walk on the beach?" he asked her as they finished the Sunday lunch.
She immediately accepted the offer as she has always seen one on screen but never in real since ages.

As they were walking on the sand, they came across a ice-cream van from which he bought them two cones that she enjoyed like a child.

- She is really cute with the melted ice-cream on nose tip and her million watts smile. -

He passes her his kerchief and ask her to clean the ice-cream stains.

- How to get to know her likes and dislikes?
How to know if she is happy in this marriage?
How is she seeing me?
What is her expectation?
...
But what if she takes me wrong and feels it's my insecurity which is shown through those questions? -

*** Why can't we behave like other husband and wife who live in our building?
I saw Chotu's Maa and Papa being close and happy.
I'm happy too but I don't know if he is.
He is taking care of me a lot. I feel like a princess here.
But what about him?
Can I ask him to hold my hands or ask him if he likes me or not? ***

"Do you like this place?"
"Beach? I love it!" she answered.
He smiled "And life here?"
"Hmmm!" she nodded.
"Do you want to go back to your"
"No!" she answered even before he could complete his question.
He smiled again.

As they made their way to home, they got Chinese take away which she is going to discover for the first time.
"Take it like this!" showing her "Yeah! Turn it! Turn it again!" eyeing her fork "Yes! Now taste it!"
"Hmmm It's hmmm nice! Hmmm different!" with mouth full.
He smiled.
"I will try to learn to make this!" she said once she finished her first intake.
"If you like this dish we will get it once a month!"
"NO No no! I was just saying that I will try to cook for you if you like this dish!"
"You don't like it?" he asks not getting her answer.
"I like it!" not understanding fully what he is asking.
"Do only things you like!"
"What if I wanted to do something you like and I don't know what you like?" biting her lower lip after getting what she has just said.
He smiled a happy smile and said "Whatever you cook, I love them! These foods are just to taste time to time." she nodded "We will taste other dishes too but I love our cuisine and I think you too." she nodded again.

Once dinner finished, they made their way to their room to end the week-end with smiles on both of their faces.

As usual the week starts with him going to work and she, preparing lunch.
Once lunch prepared, she went to take her bath, a new habit which has became her new routine since few days.
Singing few ARR songs she has listened when her cousin sister was listening.

Not getting that the calling bell is ringing, she continued her singing.

The person entered the apartment with a bunch of keys in hands and started to move towards the couple's room, listening to the beautiful voice of the lady who is in shower.
Going to the small cupboard, the person goes through few files than pics the one important.
Madhu who came out of the bathroom just in her in-skirt attached to her body, playing with her wet hair, made her way to their room where she has already put her dress out on their bed.
As she entered the room and at the same time, the person in there got up and turned to go back, but stopped in the track with shock.
"Rishab!" she said as she held her wet in-skirt in place and eyes widen.

- What am I seeing?
What am I doing? -

He immediately turned to other side.

*** When did he came?
Why didn't he call me?
What he is going to think of me, seeing like this, half-naked?
I don't even know what should I do!
No scenes of soaps is coming to my idiotic mind!
I can't think. ***

"Sorry!" he says and gets out of their room with the file he was holding while she stays shocked of the events.

She came out of her trance with the main door of their apartment closing sound.

- How am I going to face her?
We didn't even talk about anything more then basic things and today, I saw her like that.
It's normal for an husband but we are just friends for now.
We didn't even hold hands, I didn't even held her, we didn't even kiss, a long list to go.
It will be so awkward this evening. -

*** Maa! What should I do?
I didn't know he will be coming!
You said it's not good to be like this in front of boys when I was young and now it must be the same and he saw me.
Sorry Maa! ***

The thoughts and the preparations of how to meet the other ruled their mind until the moment he came back.
Once he was inside, the air tuned to awkwardness and both of them didn't know where to start and how to react.
The evening progressed, luckily he had football practise, so they got in to their routines until the time it was to go to bed when she was called by him, after gathering all the courage possible.

"Sit here." he said her showing the place next to him on their bed.

They both sat on their bed with her left hand on the bed and right hand on the lap.
He is anxious to know her real feelings and see if they can make their life an happy one together.
He put his right hand over her left with all the precaution he can take only to feel her shiver and jolt under his touch, which made him remove it immediately and lock with his other hand which is over his lap.

*** Why did he remove his hand? Doesn't he like to touch me? ***

- I don't know how to start with her. We need to talk and it's not going to be an easy task. -

"I'm sorry! I don't know you will"
"I... I..." she interrupted him but didn't know what to say "No need for sorry! You don't know I will be"
"I should have informed you!"
"No! It was"
"Do you hate me?" he asks not knowing what else to ask to know how she is feeling.
she shook her head with a smile as thoughts run in her little head.

*** How can I hate a Man like you when you make me happy and gave me a happy life similar to what Maa told me when she was with me. ***

"Why smiling?"
She stops smiling and says "I... don't know!"
"If you feel I did any mistake, tell it to me immediately."
She bends her head and smiles shyly "I like to be here."

*** Why am I feeling shy to say that?
It's not that I'm saying I love you to him as Reshmi said to Rishi.
I like him! But Love? I don't know what it means! ***

- She likes like being here in this city, house or with me?
Why can't I read her mind?
But she is cute when smiles like this!
What am I doing?
Building a paper castle!
I need to know her thoughts about me, our marriage and our age difference fully before dreaming. -

"Do you want to work or do something here?"
"I...I never thought about it!"
"Think about it and let me know when you decide to do something!"
She nodded.

They talked for few more minutes about random things before sleeping with fast beating hearts.

Hours started to pass and Wednesday arrived!

There is party organised in his office where the family members are also invited.
As she was informed about this the day before, she took the help of her neighbour aunt who guided her for sari and jewellery.
They made their way to the venue and there Rishab introduced Madhu to his colleagues and to his friends' wives.
They asked him to let his wife with them as they will not eat her.
He leaves her there half heartedly and joins his friend.

"How is married life going Man?" his friend asked him.
"Good!" she answered to the question with her eyes travelling to her husband second to second.
"Do you like him a lot?" a lady in the group asked her.
"Can't you see that he can't take his eyes off her!" a friend of his said playfully.
The small talks continues on both sides with teasing and fun.

He lost the track of her as his boss interrupted his eye map to track his wife.
The ladies asked her if she wanted to join them as they were starting to move towards their common friends who just arrived but Madhu refused the offer as she wasn't feeling comfortable with them.

She searched all around for him but he wasn't visible in the crowd of more than 200 people.
So deciding to wait for him, she went out of the banquet hall and settled in a bench, just near the banquet entrance in case he search for her and comes out.

*** It's big here and people here are good but too noisy. ***

A drunken man comes there and tries to put his arm on her shoulder asking if she is alone as she was now standing and distancing herself from him.
"Beauty! I will give company if you are alone and you can give company to me." he said.
She started to turn but her sari got stuck in the bench and she tried to get it back.
"Tell me beauty that you are alone!"

*** It's in this time my sari has to stuck! Maa! Help me! ***

"She is here with her husband!" Rishab said removing her sari from the place and put his arm around her shoulder as he moves from there along with her shivering form.

- I left her for few minutes and these fools goes weak.
I need to learn her few kick boxing tactics to tackle them! -

*** What an heroic entry!
I didn't see him come!
He is really my hero! ***

She started to dream but still her eyes were afraid and and she was shivering.
So he said soft sweet words to her and added "I will be there for you"
Hearing this, she smiled shyly.

*** I feel like 'Majunu ki Laila(Majunu's Laila)' heroine and him hero! ***

"As a friend!" he added as he moved his hand from her shoulder and held her hand, making their way towards their bike.
Her face fell hearing him but she gained her small confidence which she has created with him and said "Husband!" and held tightly his hand as they moved forward.
