What an epi? Starting from rakhi celebration to everyone's dance, then Kaira's slight tashan (in between the small scene where Naira confesses that in Kartik's presence her wishes can never remain unfulfilled) to their romance/moment and back to cute Kaira fights...everything was great.
But today what I really left me awestruck was Kartik leaving the house and once again Kaira's unspoken understanding.
Despite his father's taunt and Dadi's hidden double-meaning remark, Kartik left with his in-laws. But did he really leave with his in-laws? No I saw a Damad cum Beta leaving with Singhanias in order to fulfill the duties of a Beti.
Kartik knows Goenkas have their Bahu, but what about Singhanias and Naira? If Goenkas can have both their Son and daughter-in-law to shoulder them, can't Singhanias also have their Daughter and son-in-law doing the same for them? Unfortunately this is not how the society works. As we people put it, something as such is unconventional to the culture and our tradition.
His wife, who wishes to fulfill her both duties as a daughter-in-law of Goenkas and Daughter of Singhanias, she is somewhere lost between Dadi's demands and under the pretense of so called tradition. After all this is against the rules of our society! Once you become a daughter-in-law, your in-laws become your main priority and Myaka is somehwere forgotten behind your duties towards your in-laws. That is, if so how the people see it.
We usually see the main female leads struggling with their responsibilities or juggling between duties, and being put through dilemmas to choose between Sasural/Mayka every now and then. They usually share their sorrow with their partners and find a shoulder to lean on. Most of the time the male leads always stand by them and be their support system. Even don't hesitate to fight against the society, culture or their families.
But this man Kartik sets a new example for us today. He takes the relationship of a husband-wife or two people in love a notch higher. Yes, he has already done all that for his Naira. Yet, today he decides not to only be a support system to his wife, but to share her struggles as well. To share her responsibilities and fulfill her duties of being a Beti.
Of course he can't replace the Beti of Singhanias, but he can still be their Beta and do her share towards the family. So his wife won't be stretched thin being a Beti and Bahu, whereas Singhanias will have that one shoulder, which they require the most.
And he does all that silently under the pretense of being angry with his wife. For once, he doesn't show off it to others or believe he is Mahan because he is doing something incredible and unorthodox. All he has to offer is unconditional love and care. A pure soul indeed.
And Naira being his soulmate, she understands her husband without him uttering a single word to her. She knows it's a facade. He is masking his true intention under the act of being "I am angry with my wife. So I will go with my in-laws.
Their "self-giving" yet "standing against wrong" nature is applaudable, whereas their understanding level is something worth appreciating. And this once again proves that, Kaira's relationship is so unique.
Truly commendable. Hats off to the writers as well for penning it down so well.
