I started watching this show recently, post leap only. I must confess that the only reason I am hooked is the chemistry of the lead pair Zain and Aditi and the initial episodes that I saw in which Avni/Ananya came across as a very headstrong and independent character despite all that she went through as a child. I think many of you will agree with me on this. But reading the various articles on this forum and just generally knowing how indian TV functions I feel like this show which has the potential to be different is again going to go down tried and tested roads. Although I love the Avneil scenes because they are so refreshing but the rest of the plot - with the revenge saga, the saas-bahu angle, etc are just plain bullshit! I know some of these elements are perhaps enjoyed by some other viewers and garner TRPs but personally I would like to see more realistic scenes . For example I would like to see Avni decide to apply for a job and go to work! After all that she has seen I think it is a natural progression to want to be financially independent and have her own identity. In an earlier episode she was upset about amol's fees being paid by the Khannas. So given all these facts I think it would be great to show her decide to take up a job and do well professionally. I know the creatives and directors of the show already know the direction the show is headed in which primarily revolves around dayawanti coming back for revenge etc. and while I know that they wont change it all to make a fully realistic show but at least a few scenes of avni back to being an independent person would really be wonderful. I'd also like to see her dress like earlier. I liked that look especially the nose-ring. Would be nice and more believable if she rotated her clothes to include stuff from her earlier wadrobe along with the current saree-off shoulder blouse thing which has become staple. Having her wadrobe change to only sarees only because shes now a bahu is not fitting in with her personality. I feel like if we as fans of the show put some pressure , the makers may decide to incorporate a few of our ideas into their larger plot just to keep us happy! Coz I would be really bummed if in a few weeks I could no longer tolerate the show just because they've diluted Avni's personality to a girl who just cries about her fate, tries to please her in laws and depends on her husband to help for everything. Taking help is not wrong but the independent Avni they showed in the earlier episodes was far more likeable and aspirational for me as a viewer. What do you guys feel? Do you think we can write to the show directors and creatives and put pressure on the makers to not reduce Avni to an ablanaari type person in the upcoming episodes?

I would really want her to be independent .

Yes it's high time Avni came out of SP Bahu mode. It's high time they show her not trying to please her good for nothing in laws and just get on with her life! Please Bohot huwa yeh Bahu banne Ka natak! Had enough of it. High time Avni just becomes Avni again.
