Om and Gauri - The Silent Chemistry

Harneet was writing for IB so just for the sake of the magic she creates with her writings, I watched few epis of IB but couldn't connect to it so left it. Then came DBO and I was not a bit interested in it Shrenu was FL so watched it here n there initially and surprise i liked it 😆
Omkara and Gauri have a amazing relationship where there are hardly any words and its just silence which eventually is biggest plus point of their relationship for me. I love the silence they have in their relationship.😳
Om gets this wrong impression of Gauri as gold digger due to her marriage set up with Kaali Thakur. She tried to clear this MU to him but he was least bothered. Then he went on to marry her to save her from villagers and that chapter was close for him. He was back in his nest to solve his own issues.
Gauri and Om both were indifferent to each other. They were mere strangers who crossed each other paths.

They were destined to be together hence Gauri ended up as chulbul in his home, the place where she belongs. Initially Gauri had no problems with Om marrying Svetlana. She is oblivious to it. She was there just as a servant, she was on job - to earn money to save her mother.
She got to know why Om was marrying Svetlana and how evil is Svetlana. She supported Om not because he was her husband but the right one. When she saw his love for his family especially his mother, she started liking him as a good person. The bond of friendship was pure and selfless.
Om finally had a confidant in whom he can have his trust and faith, in whom he found a support whereas Gauri was happy that she can atleast be of some help to her husband(This friendship track was the one where Gauri accepted him as her husband and was ready to do anything for him and his family as Patni Dharm)

She never ever expected anything from Om but trust. She wanted him to trust her truth and goodwill for him but destiny was always against her.

Then started the drama of pati-patni and they were back to square one. Gauri lost all the trust and friendship of Om she gained as Chulbul.
Om bought her back just to get rid of Svetlana and She came back to help him and also as a payback for paying hospital bills.

Whole point of repeating this is to say that Gauri never loved Om (dont kill me😆)
Gauri was always selfless in this relationship. She is someone for whom her husband is Pati Parmeshwar and she will protect him, support him(in right things) with all her heart.
The best quality of Gauri have to be her being selfless yet never compromising her self respect. She took all the trash from Om just because he was her husband else she would not have.

When Om started behaving nicely, it confused her. She never wanted his ehsaans and him acting out of way was irking her simply because she was unable to decipher him. He was always indifferent towards her and she understood but when he flipped his behavior she cannot. His GOOD behavior towards her made her vulnerable and fragile which she never was. She was someone who could survive anything and any situation but failed miserably infront of Om's behavior. She can still easily leave home and go but she is obliging Om, why? Because she is still not sure. She hopes that Om will accept her yet she is afraid that her hopes will be crushed. So better to be still and go with the flow and give Om a chance that he asked for.

Coming to Om, he never got to know who Gauri is actually. He is totally confused and unaware of real side of Gauri. Needless to say he never loved her😆(love toh dur like bhi nhi kiya)

He was and is still grateful for all what Gauri did to save him and his family. When Daadi reminded him of his list about his would be wife(one who will always support him, protect his family), he had glimpses of Gauri doing all this. And it was the very scene which made Om to think "if she is the one?"😳
And this was the particular reason he stopped Gauri from leaving him alone forever. Ah it reminds me how beautiful that scene was.❤️
Om is introvert, someone who keeps things in his heart and never shares with anyone. And this very aspect makes his character interesting and intriguing for viewers and Gauri too

He have major trust issues and that is reason he wont give entry in his heart to anyone easily. He needs time. He is lost somewhere and Gauri have to bring him back

Gauri wants acceptance as wife as that is very important to her. Love is far away for her too. When she herself does not know if she loves Om, how can she ask or seek same. Her whole point is to know if Om accepts her as his wife or not.

But for Om its not the case. For Gauri its about self respect whereas for Om its about heart. He is not sure what he feels for Gauri. He wants to know her inside out. She, somehow, unknowingly have triggered his heart beat which was non existent long back. She, somehow, have managed to touch his heart and soul. He is confused at this point and when his confusion will be over, he will accept her. When it will be a "yes" for his heart, he will answer all her valid question. Or may be, his soul and heart knows how he feels but his mind dont have the words to express it. This can be made a bit clear with Om's POV and I am not in hurry to get one soon 😳 suspense and varied possibilities acche lagte hai 😆
He is definitely drawn to her but he dont know why. All that he know is HER presence matters to him.

Their relation, as of now, is of awkwardness. They are awkward with each other.
Upto Buama track, all that Gauri knew about Om was he is a good human. And now slowly she is seeing layers of Om and his personality. When he treated her mother nicely and respectfully, she melted a bit. He again melted her heart when he praised her and her acchayi in front of her mother. She was all along thinking his goodness to be payback for what she did for him. And thankfully she has stopped thinking that stuff now. She realized whatever he is doing for her is from "dil se"

Pinky's scene were outright weird n hurtful but I guess purpose of those scenes is attained. One to surface fears in Gauri-fear of going away from Om. She was always ready to leave him and she still says same but when pinky pointed out same, she became vulnerable and badly wanted to know where she stands in Om's life. And other to make it clear to Gauri that Om is least concerned about her education or her inability to speak English. I hope no such scenes are shown again.

Gauri's mother was bought in just to show Gauri that Om is nice person and he behaves nicely with everyone not just his family 😆 And this means that initially Om had wrong perception of Gauri but now he is getting to know her. In all this, somewhere, Gauri too had formed a opinion that Om will never like anything associated with her and maaji was chosen to prove Gauri wrong 😆 They could have utilize maa ji more...I was thinking that Maa ji's presence will start sister's track🤓 cos i remember reading that Gauri and Anika are long lost sisters 😳

Coming back to Om-Gauri,
It is the small moments that matters most in building up of relationship and I am glad that Om, Gauri are getting those small moments. Om have finally started to open up in front Gauri. He is sharing his problems with Gauri. Hoping to get more raw conversations where Om is carefree and letting down his guard. The first step towards friendship is taken. There is a line I read that people who guard their hearts fiercely are waiting for a better thief and in Om's case that thief have came long back and unknowingly have started her work her too. 😳

They have this maturity in their relationship which makes it endearing. Their scenes have been good quality wise. Actors playing Om and Gauri are good. They are so in character even when they are in background. For example, when bros refused DNA test, Gauri was not at all okay and it was evident on her face. She was bothered if Om is dad of that kid. Sign of good actor. Always in character whether they are main focus of scene or not. And it was good to see that awkwardness every time they were alone in that baby track. When with family, they were just being themselves and when alone the awkwardness was evident.
Beautiful things wait for us but sometimes we have to walk to them and this reveals how much we think that things belong to us. Om and Gauri have to walk towards each other by breaking barriers or overcoming their awkwardness and the process has started up. From leave my house to yeh tumhara bhi room hai, Journey have already begun😳

I just want 10-15 mins of meaningful Om and Gauri scene. I am watching just for them. Its difficult and irritating to tolerate one hour epi to watch 5 mins of Om-Gauri
Also watching on hotstar doesn't helps...their scenes are sandwiched making it difficult. DBO was good for me cos Om and Gauri used to come in either starting 15 mins or last 15 mins 😆 can the show again split up 😆 I think nothing can be done
Harneet is so so good when it comes to handling "shaadi ke baad wala pyar tracks" and it makes me hope for brilliant scenes for Om and Gauri and I dont mind if its for 8-10 mins only. Bas Harneet should keep the flow and not butcher their track

would wind up with a request to make up artists that please dont deck up Gauri like christmas tree...she looks much better with minimal make up. Gul's fashion is super duper Bokwas but happy that atleast Gauri's dresses are not that bad...I loved her coton suits during pregnancy track or may be its just that she carries them off well 😆

P.S: Would love it if anyone will make a VM on Gauri Om for song "Koi Fariyad" from Tum Bin. It is so apt for them
