Kanak: Young, genuine, loving soul. Forced to marry a beautiful and dread dharmic stranger mesmerized by her beauty, smell and fated arrival in his life.
Blinded by their faith, he and his family urge her to follow the alienated rules of the house and even punish her when she is not able to adjust. She stays in this marriage trying to do justice to her Bhabho in order to win her love. Agrees to do many compromises in order to reach her goal. Being a fighter, she often confronts her husband, applies to many tricks, cheats, lies, makes him belive that she accepted this marriage- not him, but never reveals her true intentions because she doesn't trust him.
Uma: Handsome, cultivated, simple, honored ayurvedic doctor in that region, totally devoted to his dharm. Otherwise he is an enigma. He strongly believes that she came in his life send by Lord so he doesn't consider he was wrong marrying her forcibly or punishing her according to dharmic customs and rules. He even starts feeling for her, but he is still afraid to accept it. He thinks he is always right.
While he is more and more touched by love for her and more confident about their lifetime commitment, one day he finds out the truth.
We know the whole story.
Is he legitimate to be angry on her for being cheated? Is he legitimate to ask her loyalty?

Long intro because i tried to be neutral (so hard for me)
I tried also to ask neutral questions (even harder).
Your honor, let's judge!

He can b angry on her bcoz its human to bbangry on someone who cheats u bt does he really have that moral ground NO nowhere kanak saud she will accept him as her hubby(As far as i have seen) n whatever lies n pettiness/stupidity kanak has done till date are mistakes which she regrets especially the alchohol one said sorry too bt where as Uma he never regrets n still dont think that forced mrg was wrong n to say that its nt a mistake bt a sin is anither thing n expect her to follow his rules n get punished if she diesnt follow expect her to win the prestigious title of Mrs uma shankar Lol!
I really hope somebody really wake him up n shw him a mirror n he sees what a paakandi he actually iss!
Unlike other shows i expect him to regret get punished n earn resoect n love from kanak!

Yes, he has all the right...cause he has given 2 opportunities to walk out the relation...once with and second without the papers...kanak lost both opportunities to walk away...giving him the impression that she is willing staying with him cause she is giving this relationship a chance while she is deceiving him...
Yes we can go on that he forced her...but did he forced her to have sex with him...nope...neither till date did he touch her improperly...while kanak herself has put her own safety and izzat herself n the line...and all that for the shop...

Forcefully marrying someone is as bad as getting physical n in our society mrg means alot n he giving two chances woahh one by insulting her family? There she dint accept her mrg dint promise infront of god bt jus said u urself will throw me out or something on the line where did she give hope? N in second time its her regret of almost breakung his dharam n why should she leave without her shop papers? If uma n family can force their dharam on her n force marry her withput informing her family this cheat kanak doing to them is just mistake!
No where kanak n una is on same line!

@phoenixD...
I'm not agreeing to his action...they are wrong...but question is he right to be angry...and in mine opinion he has the right...cause she by staying back kanak gave it to him...
So I blame her...

And her stupid way to get the paper...did she really considered bhabo opinion here...why is it that ppl think they can make the the best decision for there loves ones...don't they have the right not to know the truth and make the decision their self...and is Kanak doing all this without a motive...no she is expecting love and acceptance...doesn't makes her that selfish and blind towards bhabo...

I have to say I'm totally biased in favor of Kanak.

I mean...maybe it is because she is SurYa's daughter...but I can't help but look at things from Kanak's point of view.

She's an orphaned child who was raised in a house where her brothers and uncle and aunt tried to give her as much love as possible. But you know how human nature works...it always desires that which one doesn't have. In Kanak's case that was Bhabo's love.

Imagine being a child and running around and playing, and then hearing your grandmother scream at the top of her lungs in front of the entire Hanuman Galli that she needs to purify the shop because Kanak stepped into it by mistake.

Imagine wondering all your life...why? Am I impure? Am I a jinx? What sin did I commit? Why am I always being sent away to boarding school in the name of education...when it is really to get rid of me...It's a wonder she didn't turn into a basket case.

Then imagine getting all the blame for your parents death laid on your shoulders...that too for an incident that occurred when you were a baby. Imagine someone you love hating you so much for something you had no control over.

Kanak was so traumatized by this revelation that she was going to commit suicide. Ironically, it was Umashankar that she overheard giving Payal a brainwashing pep talk...that made her rethink her action. She decided that she was going to redeem herself in the eyes of Bhabo by giving her the one thing that Bhabo worships the most...her Suraj and Sandhya's sweet shop.

I see nothing wrong in Kanak's thinking.

You also have to remember that Kanak didn't come to Ladno to deceive anyone. She came in search of Gabasa, to find out how he could lay a claim to the sweet shop. It was at the festival there Uma saw her and "signs from God" and decided that they were going to get married. She refused and he stated..but I have chosen you...and then he picks her up and takes the pheras...with her biting and kicking him and pleading to the onlookers for help to no avail.

Once Uma learns the truth...he may be angry. He may be justified...because Kanak could have confronted him and demanded the truth from him long ago.

Yes, Kankak is immature. She put her hand in something that puts her at risk...and she should have told someone in her family...at least her brothers. Perhaps she thought they would stop her. Or maybe after she saw Ved getting beat up by Uma's loyalists, she decided he could pose a threat to her family. She already thinks he defrauded Bhabo of the shop. For her...he's Raavan...Daakoo Singh, a kidnapper. If anyone should be angry it is her. I'm with Kanak on this one. No matter what the misunderstanding about the shop is...there is no justification for what Uma did.

He and his thinking is like from the stone ages...I don't know how someone like Kanak has survived with him that long...I would have told him, Bhabo, and the shop to kiss my !@#$% long time ago.
Yet Uma never finds fault in anything he does.

Sometimes I feel Kanak is trapped in a never ending game like...the Hunger Games...where no matter how much you're told otherwise...the odds are never in your favor.

first if all is there any instance where kanak was punished by uma...he asked her to walk away from marriage n that is not punishment since she herself wanted him to do it...but no she preferred not to walk away and ready to take the punishment for sticking with this forced marriage...and before there were instances like kanak eating onion n uma tried to hide it from his family saving kanak...
yes uma was wrong in marrying her nobody can deny it...but he asked her to call her family she could have done that so what if she has seen ved getting beaten he is a police officer he can come with police force and rescue her and punish uma but no once she saw bhabho's shop papers with him she started pretending to have accepted this marriage and hide her family...she made herself a victim of his dharm rules but uma gets blamed for whatever she is undergoing *biased logic*
when the truth comes out uma will be angry not at kanak but her stupidity...she herself assumed things and the victims of her assumptions were his and his family's feelings and reputation...if uma is blind in his dharms kanak is blind for gaining bhabho's love...both were wrong...if kanak can be angry at uma for marrying her for his dharm uma also can be angry at her for cheating him and his family for bhabho when the base for it is nothing but his goodness of not touching her..so along with kanak blaming him for marriage she should be grateful to him for not misbehaving with her due to which she was/is able to fight for shop papers..

For me things look simple: I can't have expectations from someone whom i forced to accept me. At least not in one month of relationship. If at a certain time in this short period things seems to go better but it turns to have been an illusion i have the right to be sad, disappointed, even angry.,but not on the other person . He owes me nothing.
Can we still blame Kanak for choosing to stay in order to make her bhabho happy, even after we saw how much means for her a blessing or a hand touch which were not actually for her?

for me marriage was the only mistake of uma rest everything kanak called for herself...if kanak can't be blamed for staying in this marriage uma also can't be blamed for expecting her to be his 'dharmpatni'...
