Part 15: Family Dinner
"Dad! We have already talked about this!" Suraj said to his father avoiding all the gaze he was receiving.
"Ahan ahan, I just said my wish Son!" He turned his head to face Chakor "Marathon runner!" He called Chakor who was busy in thinking what he is going to ask next.
She lifted her head to face him and smiled "Please call me Chakor Uncle!"
"You call me Papa or Dad like your sister, however you wish and I will call by the name you want!"
To this words of his father his mind was like 'Even if you try your best, your father is ruining it for you!'
She smiled and nodded.
"I wanted to ask you if you have any elders from your parents side."
"Maa and Papa's marriage was against Maa's family wish. Papa was in orphanage until he became doctor and then they said that they met while Papa was in a medical camp. Maa never talked about her family and Papa too, so I'm the one for Imli and she is my solo family." She finished with a sad smile as everyone from Rajvanshi family looked at her with an expression which said 'Life is hard and you have achieved a lot in this young age!' while Imli was saddened with what she heard since childhood.
To change the topic, Chakor initiated the talk about her sibling's marriage.
"Suraj! Did you told him about their internship?"
Hearing his name to be called, he nodded and listened to her question "Yeah! Dad what did you thought about that?" He demanded his father's view.
"Everything is good! We will talk with the flow! Imli and Chakor, you are also my daughters from The moment one of you is related to Rajvanshi family. So as the elder, I want to know what you have thought about your future Chakor? Elder daughter comes first in list!"
Both the sisters melted with each affectionate words of KN.
"I want to achieve more in sports field and I want to adopt few children in future with whom I can grow older!"
"But what about your marriage and life?"
She smiled her lovely smile while Imli felt sad, Suraj had an expression saying he isn't understanding her reasoning and Vivaan in a similar state but happy that Imli accepted their marriage proposal.
"For now I'm not in for it, the moment I think about my future, Imli and you will be the first person to know." Smiling her simple smile.
"I'm happy to know that!" He exhaled a heavy breath and continued "I have to wait I don't know how many days, weeks, months or years for my two other children to settle in their own life." He sipped water "I talked to our family priest and he told me that there is an auspicious date in less than a 1 month and I want you all to be at home to prepare for the marriage!"
"Papa" Suraj tried to interrupt his father but got himself interrupted.
"Let me talk son! It's our family first marriage and I don't know when the next one will happen, I want my son's Marriage to be held in our mansion with all the rituals. I know that your exams will end in less than 2 weeks, so I want you all in our home the next day itself.
And Chakor, if you take us as your family, I wish that you stay with us after your sister's marriage." Chakor opened her mouth to object but KN smiled and asked her to let him continue with his hand "As I said, we are your family and when one daughter lives with us, I want my other daughter to live with us. I know that they will be gone for their internship. I understand that but I don't know why I feel like that but since 2-3 weeks I felt like my time is coming an end!"
"Dad!" Vivaan and Suraj echoed in the same time while the girls where a bit taken aback with this situation which is something they have never imagined as the notions of parents are long lost.
"Sit Suraj!" KN said as Suraj got up to go by his father's side "I have this feeling and I need my family to be near me! Life was happy when I was with my parents, sister, wife and son. With time few relations came and few went away. I want my sons to feel a bit of life I lived."
"Dad! We are there! Nothing will happen!" Suraj assured his father who was smiling at him.
"All rituals will be held in our mansion. For now, you two concentrate on your studies, we aren't going to pass you for being part of Rajvanshi family." A smile broke on everyone's face and a satisfaction look turned out in KN's eyes "Chakor! Final decision will be yours! Let me know about it when you want to talk. Here is my personal, in case you want to talk to me about marriage arrangements or someother things." Putting the spoon down, he slide out a card from his pocket and passed it to Chakor who is hesitantly nodding her head, accepting the card but hesitating to accept the offer of being under the roof of Rajvanshi when it will be only her sister's house.
KN is offering her to be with them with a big heart but ho can she accept an offer like this. What is running in her head? Even she doesn't know if she is for this or not fully.
After that, KN got back to the main topic in their hands, which is the marriage.
He asked about the type of marriage the young couple would like to go through and if they have any special wishes.
As the dinner came to the end, the discussion too ended for the day.
KN ordered his son to not think a lot and he isn't obliged to move if he doesn't want. When Suraj and Vivaan proposed to go with their father, KN refused saying he is strong, no need for black cats and asked his sons to take his daughters safely to their place.
Bidding bye, 4 the people made their way to the quarters while KN traveled in his car, accompanied by his driver.
As his car moved to his mansion, flashes of his family happiness reflected in his eyes.
