💔

This is so disappointing. I had butterflies in my stomach from the 25th over to till the end. Can't believe we lost. 😭 Avoided any social media or forums to concentrate on the match but it was in vain. This WWC 2017 has been great. Closely fought matches.

India vs Australia was our peak.

The thing about this match versus the CT17 final was that we were always in with a chance, dare I say, even in the driver's seat but nerves got the best of us. If we were outplayed in CT17, we were outsmarted here. That's what hurts, 'cause it wasn't about skill on the day but about nerves. We definitely had the capacity to win the match but lack of composure in the face of pressure let us down.

A win for India would have opened the floodgates of funds from BCCI's side. Regardless, being the richest cricket board, I don't get why BCCI doesn't invest more in women's cricket. If Australia, England, NZ, SA can despite not being as rich as us, we definitely can. I hope to God this bunch of talented players gets the infrastructure and guidance they deserve.

I hope we can do it once more on the big stage. WWC'21, here we come.

India vs Sri Lanka test series next but that's not really interesting at this point. An opportunity for our players to pad their stats. CT'17 still hurts, as you can tell, but this one hurt me more since we were mostly down and out in the CT'17 final from the first ball of our innings.

Congrats England and well-played India!
