Wow, thats amazing! 👏
OSO was such an entertaining, blockbuster movie!

Do the Japanese also believe in Reincarnation?

This will be an unpopular opinion. But so be it.

OSO is one of the best movies of the last 20 or so years. It's a parody and many don't realize that it was supposed to be the way it was. It's a top-5 movie of SRK's career. A wonderful homage to Bollywood; a parody of cinema during the 70s and 80s, and on top of that, it had the whole reincarnation angle - one of my favorite concepts in cinema.

I didn't appreciate all of this when I watched it for the first time. As I re-watched the movie over the years, it kept me engrossed and grew on me. I keep saying that Bollywood critics and so called film theorists cannot appreciate and understand such nuances in cinema, and OSO is one of the examples.

International critics do a far better job in appreciating these kinds of movies. Blockbuster-esque movies can also be classics, ya know. Not every movie has to be in the mold of Sarfarosh or Dil Se. Cinema is about variety and emotions. OSO had plenty. I even loved the fact how SRK overracted as Om Makhija and later as Om Kapoor, how he acted like a snooty star. It just fit hand in glove with the narrative.

Movies like OSO aren't traditionally what you'd call great cinema and not every film has to be the same. Loud musicals, comedies, action movies, etc. have their place too and they can be great when executed correctly. OSO had its heart at the right place.

OSO is like Austin Powers or Airplane , a well made parody.

This was probably the last well made film on reincarnation
After that we had Mirziya and Raabta both on the same themes
Yet both were badly made films and failed
Om Shanti Om was a good tribute to the yesteryear era of films
