Neil is crazy in love there is no doubt about it. This is not friendship. The way he looks at her? He's crazy for her. He realised it gradually, but he fell for her almost on their first meeting. As in, he was very attracted to her and her kick ass ways. Her attitude and how she didnt care for a toss what he thought. He was thinking of her the next day and even told Ali and Ali teased him. I think Juhi was that ideal "first love" type love. But Avni is that once in a lifetime love. The kind your not looking for but just happens to you. Avni was the last girl he wanted to fall in love with, coz right from get go he was suspicious of her and he was right to be so. He told himself he was following her around and taking an interest in her affairs coz he thought she was a criminal or hiding something. But the actual fact was he was very much "Into" her and that's why he couldn't stay away from her even when he wanted to.

That day after the Phag Phera he told her (As a joke) that from the day he met her, there hasn't been a day he didn't think of her. That when he danced with her and she hugged him it did something to him. That was actually all true. Everything he said was true, but he just laughed it off seeing how shocked she looked, and she said she has "No place for love" in her life. The issue is Neil has no idea where he stands in her life. He could not be more obvious of his feelings after the Dayavanthi arrest and how upset he was when he heard Ali say that now Avni can be "free" of the marriage. How he broke down thinking that he had to let her go. How he was thrilled when she helped his family and organized her birthday like an excited kid. Only to have it all dashed when instead of saying she's staying for him, she said she's staying for Bebe.

Neil Khanna is one guy in love that we don't have to even guess or question. It's totally obvious. As for Juhi, he hasn't forgotten her. But unlike before Avni came into his life, he doesn't have to think of her daily. Because he is in love again for real. That "void" in his life has been filled where Juhi used to be. Even that sequence of Humari Adhoori Kahani showed that Juhi herself asks him to move on with Avni, and now he has. He just needs to say "I Love you". But he has shown it a 100 times already.
