SS: The History Teacher

The History Teacher



Jai Walia, the Head of the History Department, was very busy today. Today, a famous historicist was coming to visit the college. He took every necessary step to make his department look the best. The classrooms were clean and bright and he's asked the students to dress up well for the occasion.




He made sure everything was perfect in his attire as well....from his perfectly combed hair to his polished shoes. He came to the college early and went to check the teachers. They were also dressed well. Greeting them, he went to his office and sat impatiently for Dr. Amulnath Pathak.



Dr. Pathak came exactly when he was supposed to. JW greeted him as a perfect host. Later, Dr. Pathak wanted to see the classes and the students. Though JW wanted to give him a tour, Dr. Pathak was determined that he'll go himself.



He entered a classroom and the students greeted him cheerfully. To judge how good they were at history, he asked the student of the front row,


"Who destroyed Somnath's Temple for the first time?"



The girl, Bani blinked and innocently said, "Sir, I haven't done it. But it's a Raaz and I'll try to find out who did this. I'll do anything to find out who did this 'ghatiya harqaat' and it's my Kasamh."



Dr. Pathak was shocked by such an answer from a student. But he thought that probably the girl had some kind of problem or she is just seeking attention. So, he decided to try again and asked another boy this time the same question.


Puskar got up and said sincerely, "Sir, even I don't know who did it. But I'm sure that someone of our class has done it. And I'll help Bani in every way to disclose the Raaz."



Wondering whether to count this as a joke, Dr. Pathak thought of trying one last time and asked another student the same question.



Nachiket coughed and said, "You should know that I can't do anything like this by watching my face. But I'm sure Jigyasa Mam, our Indian History teacher has some CDs regarding this."



Dr. Pathak's patience ran out and he cornered the Indian History teacher,


"M'aam, I don't understand. None of your students can answer my question! And it was an easy one!"


Jigyasa smirked and said, "Don't worry so much. I know what the Raaz is perfectly. But I'll only open my mouth after knowing what you will give me after knowing the truth."



Fuming with anger, Dr. Pathak went to meet JW and complained about the students and teachers.



"It's impossible! How do you manage them? They have been joking with me throughout the time!"


JW became angry and asked, "What have they done, Dr.?"


Dr. Pathak said, "I asked them who destroyed Somnath's Temple and they started joking that they haven't done it!"



JW calmed down hearing this and said, "Dr., I know what you must be feeling. But I assure you, all my students are nice. Though they are not the smartest, but I can bet that none of them have destroyed Somnath's temple."

PS: On a serious note, Somnath temple was destroyed seven times, right?? I think Gazhini or Muhammed(something like that!)destroyed it first..

Bani at her best!! I'm sure she will find out, but will be expelled from college. She gets thrown out of house everytime she finds out something.

Haila!! Somnath Temple was destroyed by Mahmut of Ghazni, but I think that was the third temple at that site. but still Bani go look for him!! Puskar help my sweety.
