No fault of his own. This usually applies to most actors.
1. His age. Most actors the latest they debute in BW is their late 20's or early 30's. Prabhas is 37.2. Connections and Nepotism. You need to be related or friends with someone to sign films. I don't think Prabhas knows many producers etc3. If you have no connections you can enter by looks. Former fashion models, Soap Opera actors. Prabhas is neither. I doubt he would do the roles these guys usually get anyway.

...if an actor is hit among regional masses, there's no guarantee that he'd be a hit at national level, despite the raving success of Baahubali - it worked nation-wide 'cos of the genre(or other reasons but definitely not solely because of Prabhas), strictly speaking. We telugu audience look for different things, firstly. If a movie or a hero is successful here, its because they fulfilled our criteria of what we're looking for.For example, most commercial hits here in telugu industry are that successful and look ridiculous to audience elsewhere in the nation because we look for different things in a movie. We look for good dialogues. Most commercial hits have nice dialogues(whether it's a comedy or satire or dramatic), mostly comedy. The movie may be utterly ridiculous, but if it has good dialogues(mostly comedy) with strong sentiments and cultural values(local culture) thrown in, we go crazy over such movies. Such movies may not be any better than hindi Kick or Ready, but somehow we can gloss over ridiculous scenes and still enjoy dialogues, songs, sentiment, culture. No one but a telugu person or one who has grown up in Telugu speaking states will understand that..It is the same with heroes as well, we look for one that represents a "telugu boy" or one that represents our culture no matter how "modern" or stylish he may be. There's not one successful hero that does not speak/act telugu like a telugu person(okay, movies do tend to exaggerate everything, but still).. we need to get that 'local' feel. Speaking doesn't mean uttering some lines, it has to be strong in culture/slang/expression.. intonation in words spoken by a local person is much different than... say a telugu person who has had an upbringing in Delhi or USA. We strongly feel for such things, it cannot be explained....Prabhas is all what I've explained, that is why he is a hit here... and Baahubali movie just happened to be a genre or a type of movie that was accepted by everyone.. But I cannot imagine him being just as successful in BW, unless he plays a telugu boy in a hindi-speaking world, and the BW audience is still accepting of him.Although I totally support a healthy flux of actors between various film industries, I feel that cultural identities should be preserved, that is, such actors should be allowed to play South Indians in hindi movies.. Such actors should be allowed to play characters that speak english/hindi with or without SI accent... Afterall, we live in a country where telugu peeps are everywhere, it would make a realistic representation of Indian world.

What Prabhas is 37? Cant believe he still isnt married when most Telugus I know marry by mid-20s.
Anyways back on the topic...another outsider who made a mark from another industry...again attempts start on this forum to bring him down by the same people. If more of his films click the film industry itself will be after him. But this time I put my feet up and rest and laugh at others trying to defend him. Not that it matters to Prabhas in any way. He is well settled in Telugu film industry and doesnt need BW or its starkid crazy audience.

Why is this forum so biased about men's looks? They think people like Shahrukh Khan and Prabhas are sexy. What about Farhan Akhtar? He looks...

Wow, this is the new heartthrob of the nation. He is better looking than overrated Vicky and Prabhas! Is this forum in love with him? I sure am....
