Is there a dearth of inspirational role models for Bollywood?

Itne saare ache log hai, better role models who are worthy of some movies based on them but instead yeh log criminals ke talway chaat rahe hai. The lesson to be learned here is if you are a criminal then people will write tales about you and make movies but if you are like one of those people from Logical Indian or Humans of New York then you are so out of luck. I know such people may not add typical mirch masala but its still safe to assume most audience have matured in recent years and wouldn't mind a down to earth feel good story, will they? If the directors do not have some good subjects to go on, I would love to recommend them some wonderful people from Humans of New york, Humans of bombay, The logical Indian etc whose stories deserve to be heard and appreciated.

I think movies are made on 'criminals' because people are naturally curious about whatever is controversial. So, maybe the filmmakers assume that the movie will be a success.

There are many people, scientists, social workers, political leaders, artists, some other notable personalities whose story could be told. I think some films are being made on inspirational people as well, like Dhoni, Bhaag Milka Bhaag, Dangal, Neeraja, Mary Kom, and so on.. but ya, I wish we start seeing more movies based on inspiring personalities with social message.. (not that criminal stories cannot be inspiring, one can find inspiration anywhere, but that's another topic, and I digress)

Dearth?? There are none...BW is the last place where people should look for inspiration...just because a movie is being made on Dutt...doesn't make him a role model...Hirani is making a movie on Dutt because his real life story is more exciting/interesting than any story that Javed Akhtar can ever write...full of masala..😆

No dearth of inspirational stories
But I think films on grey characters attract more audience
People are more interested in grey / back characters
Pure white characters are boring to some

You are right. Those people, and their stories are great and should be heard but to be honest, I think most people will be more interested in some drug lord, or psycho killer.

Bollywood is for movies, not for role models. Our families and friends have better people for role models.
