The word toilet and pads/sanitary pads or Stayfree(its a brand but we Indians synonymous brands with stuffs😆) are words hearing which people either cringe or tell us to lower our voice. Toilet at least can be laughed off, as some sort of humor. But pads?? well it is still taboo discussing them in public. So the main question is will Akki earn big because of this? or they will turn out to be disasters or underachievers? Toilet had the most positively received trailer since Dangal's came out last October/September. But still I find many people shocked/cringe/uncomfortable with its title. While the context is great and hype is good, if the movie as a whole is a miss there is huge chance they might fail to score at either BO or Critics. What is in its favour is its message, but what might not work will be packaged as an entertainer and might become a. preachy boring movie.
Padman is a bigger risk and audience will be absolutely embarrassed to discuss the movie at home. Although the message of this movie is also amazing but there is still a certain discomfort from certain section of people.
Personally I think it should work as Akki has bow gotten a certain multiplex base and both the movies look masssy so launde lapade will also be excited. Plus Akki is supported and liked by majority of people nowadays due to his social works toward soldiers and others. These movies just need good WOM.
So what does IF think, will it work for Akki or not?
