^^ So true. Neil's acting in that movie was quite something. I actually felt sorry for him even though he was a fictional character. Not constipated at all.

that look in Neil Nitin Mukesh's face is the predecessor to all the "Chenna Mereya" and "Mai Phir bhi tum ko chahubga" rotlus of the world.

aww, he looks very pitiable! and more so because he's not successful... TFS, never noticed this before :p
he's not any less than most A-listers, why didn't he get any success :(

Niel is a very good actor, dunno what happened, maybe because he was too white. but seriously his Johnny Gaddar is one of the best movies BW ever made. But sadly usko kuch nahi mila, aur saari waah waahiyi Ranbir le gaya.

Kabhi Na Kabhi (1998) ...the movie, songs are forgotten but I recently discovered it and found that most songs are very nice.. If you are 90s kid, you'd remember because a couple of songs like "Mere dil ka woh shehzada" and "tu hi meri saari subahon mein" were overplayed during those days! :)
I think it was flop btw 😆

...and...

Daud and Mast ⭐️ (those movies flopped no?)

Johnny Gaddar was amazing. Not a lot of people have watched that movie courtesy Neil. I too wonder what happened to him. Definitely not because he was white looking. Ugh, Ranbir can act but majorly rose to success thanks to fangirls. I witnessed it firsthand at primary school when Sawariya released. God! So much swooning and obsession. YJHD did wonders for him so he stayed despite bad movie choices.
Neil on the other hand, great actor, but few bad choices esp PRDP. Hopefully, Indu Sarkar will fare well for him.

I don't think that the songs featured in movies which turned out to be commercially superhit or blockbusters, are in anyway let down by the movie. It just shows that album and movie proved mutually beneficial to each other and boosted each others popularity.
One great album which was actually let down by the movie would be Papa Kehte Hain. Every single song was pure gem, but the movie was a dismal failure.

Shit, I just realised I've been spamming this thread with albums that were hit despite bombing at BO, while OP asked about good albums that were let down because of BO failure...
