Enough: An Open Letter

Hi,

To all those who do not know me, I am Sam, a irrelevant fiction writer on this forum!

I am an established Rudy lover-ardent Shivika shipper, OBro moment enthusiast, a AniRi fan and a 100% admirer of Om's poetic essence!

So now that I have covered all grounds, I have watched IB from the beginning, all 322 episodes, some multiple times as I have done with DBO! I didn't watch for rationality or logic (it doesn't exist in this drama 😆 I watched for each individual character, I love them all for completely different reasons!

Now why am I writing this, well it had been no surprise by the consistent topics floating around the IB forum that RiKara fans are not at all happy with their favourites being "sidelined"- now this isn't the issue, for one can express what they feel, however while one has the freedom of expression you must understand that it comes with a responsibility, as well as repurcussions!

I have seen each individual episode ripped apart since the merger with scenes being weighed in relation to their length, how much time did RiKara get, why did RuVya get more, how comes ShivIka are getting daily time!

It's quite silly if you think about it! Because nobody seems to be talking about the other relationships now being explored with the merger! AniRiYa! The girls are fabulous as is getting the beautiful OBro moments back! How about Priveer making a return? And Tej being explored once more, Svetlana is back for gods sake! Nothing has changed much apart from the fact that the show is now bigger, more inclusive!

Go ahead and show your disdain for RiKara not getting enough time but WITHOUT COMPARISON! Stop comparing STOP BASHING! I have personally witnessed that DBO fans are a lot more cynic towards IB from the beginning, AND I UNDERSTAND! I LOVE RIKARA so it's tough to get over having a 30mins show dedicated to them (though Svetlana was eating away 15minutes) ! but bringing the chain of hate into what is now ONLY known as IB is uncool! Because I think it's high time we accept that we're all one fandom! Yes we all love different couples but don't we love them all as a whole! They are all Ishqbaaaz's and their ishqbaaazi is what we are waiting for!

Let's put a hold on measuring the time of the scenes and enjoy them instead!

Remember ShivIka PriVeer and RuVya are Ishqbaaaz babies, thus the audience are already well adapted to them whereas RiKara are being eased in! If you notice we have been getting A LOT of RuVya because for so long Rudy wasn't being giving great scenes, so his character and relationship is being explored a lot more! This will happen in turn with all the couples! RiKara have Svetlana to deal with as with Gauri's mother- spoilers show that their seperation track is due too! We have the baby track to look forward to! Bhavya comes with heavy baggage being a Cop so RuVya are also going to be highlighted- ShivIka (which personally I think are on a backburner) they haven't had a serious SERIOUS conversation, it's all games galore at the moment so their is SO MUCH potential! Have patience and honestly can we stop with the same topics of who got more time!

They are getting there so let's all try and be more of a full Khitkitod family because all the hate is doing my gangaram and I am no Gauri so no Jhaap for anyone but nonetheless let's not do an Oh my Mata of the show and create fan wars! 😆

P.S. Is is just me or does anyone think that Anika and Om's wardrobe is looking FABULOUS

With all due respect I completely disgree with you, while it's true that prior to the merger Rikarians were angry and didn't want the merger due to SS but in our defence we had every right to because we didnt want history repeating it self after what happened in MS back in May where Rikara were pretty much sidelined infact on Friday of that week we barely got a Rikara scene
Secondly why are Rikara fans always blamed for causing problems as if people who ship other couple are completely innocent? There were people on this very forum that argued against the merger because they didn't want their leads to be sidelined and were openly bashing Rikara, yet I didn't see anything against them in your post so why just blame the Rikarians?
Thirdly the merger so far has proved to be pretty good although we didn't get a single precap of Rikara until Wednesday yet I saw no Rikaraians complaining about that oh and the best of all Gauri who's meant to be a parallel lead got a hardly 1 minute scene on Wednesday and people expect us to stay quite why exactly? although the last two epi have been well balanced so that's good hopefully that can carry on.

Btw I think your post was really good, it's nice to have healthy discussions hope I didn't offend you or anyone else

Thank you so much for this much needed post. I agree with each and every word of yours. This merger has to be Gul's best decision. After ages, I feel like I'm watching Ishqbaaaz again. The story was initially about the 3 brothers and their love lives and I'm glad we are back to the original story line. Moreover, it will be no fun to watch all three couples romancing without them interacting with other characters. As you mentioned, AniRiYa bonding is being explored and it is needed to build up the arc of Annika's past provided either Gauri or Bhavya will be her chutki in near future. Also, with this merger, there is consistency in every character (no more goody Tej in IB and baddie in DBO).

I'm sorry but I can't accept Priveer anymore, specially with kamweni free!
If it was a slightly grey ACP and Prinku pehalwan then it would have been great, but their story is dead as of now!
