One of the best movies of Ranbir Kapoor IMO. I liked it more than Barfee and wake up Sid. I was initially skeptical whether I should watch this one as I am not too fond of Ranbir. But I am glad I watched. This is one of its kind for Hindi movies. It is a visual treat as well as songs and musical narration all throughout gives it a refreshing look. If will be more popular among kids for sure. Relationship between father/son is so beautifully made. Katrina was good too, except for her introductory scene which looked more like advertisement/ promotion for toys and books. Her comical timing with Ranbir and how she reminds him of his dad is endearing. My only gripe would be its climax. On the whole movie is engaging and charming. It is a musical treat with adventure in backdrop!

Jagga Jasoos should not be missed for the unique story, performance and exceptional music.

Jagga was an orphan and grew up in a hospital. One day a man came to the hospital with a broken leg. He is a main witness to the Purulia arms drop case. He introduces himself to Jagga as Tooty footy, he adopts him and takes him to his house. Although, in a matter of few days, he gets Jagga admitted into a boarding school and disappears mysteriously, leaving Jagga behind to deal with life alone. Jagga grows up in the boarding school. He was troubled by the unsolved mysteries that intrigued him and he started helping the local police inspector in solving cases.

Shruti is a school teacher who narrates Jagga's story to the children. Jagga's story also features her in a major role. This is a unique and interesting story. Anurag Basu writes an intriguing saga of a father-son story. But there is a lot more to it than just father-son relationship. Jagga's father Professor Bagchi's secret mission and Jagga's search for his missing father is the essence of the story. Katrina Kaif's character is interesting but till the end the viewers are confused about her relationship with Jagga.

Ranbir Kapoor as brilliant as Jagga. He is a the main character in the film and glues each scene with his unique expressions. Katrina Kaif as school teacher Shruti is good and gives a decent performance. Saswata Chatterjee as Professor Bagchi is exceptional, Rajatava Chatterjee as police inspector and Saurabh Shukla as the antagonist are very good. Anurag Basu offers a musical adventurous journey. The movie is interesting and engaging from the very beginning. The film moves at a decent pace towards the climax. Anurag Basu has chosen outstanding and veteran actors in the form of Bengali actors Saswata Chatterjee, Rajatava Dutta, and Bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla, all of who play pivotal roles in the movie. S Ravi Varman is great with the camera. The film showcases scenic landscapes and nice sets. Pritam has given excellent music and weaved the dialogues into songs and enchanting poetry.

Highly recommend to watch this musical, enjoy the freshness and interesting script and brilliant music. This is definitely one of Ranbir Kapoor's best performances.
