Distance Graduates can appear in Civil Services

This is a query regarding the confusion over distance graduates and regular graduates. I have heard that distance degree holders are eligible for appearing in civil services or any other government services exam but is there any partiality done to them while final selection after interview? If they have scored good marks enough to get selected, will they face any discrimination in the interview or final selection?
