No one respects Piyush because he doesn't respect himself

I agree the world is very fickle and ignores talent over looks but the thoughts of Piyush were far more shallow than anyone's who has ever mad fun of him.

Very well pointed out Niharika, I agree with you 200%. Piyush has no acceptance, appreciation or respect for himself...so no wonder other people also feel he's not worth anything. Whereas Dipika is quite popular and well loved in her circuits. I love how she's such a self reliant and cheerful person at core, irrespective of having faced almost similar turbulences like him, sometimes perhaps even worse..because generally a woman is put through a harsher radar when it comes to her appearance and form. Especially when her friends are all hot and slim, like in her case it's Sarika. It's only by grace of God that Deepi has a genuinely good friend in Sarika. .I hope they remain this way always.

It's also hard to respect Piyush when he always chooses the negative way of handling problems. He doesn't want to look bad in front of his mom and dad so he tries to make Dipika look bad. I really hope he is punished somehow in the show and that his parents find out all the bad plots he's been up to.

I completely agree. I really hope Dipika doesn't marry Piyush. She deserves better!

i hope so too. deepika deserves someone who loves her for her personality, not her physical appearance.

Exactly!! Piyush's main problem isn't his weight. It's his attitude; his attitude towards his weight and other overweight people (ie Dipika). It's not a big thing if he wants to marry a slim person or rather if he doesn't want to marry Dipika because of her weight but it is the complete disregard he has for Dipika that is horrible. He doesn't even consider that she is a person with feelings and emotions.

But sometimes I do wonder whether Piyush's attitude comes from his father's attitude. Although Piyush's father doesn't mind Dipika's weight and can see her nature instead but somewhere I feel in Piyush's case, he might have had a prejudice against Piyush; maybe he felt that his son cannot match his expectations. Somewhere it seems both father and son blame the weight for the shortcomings.

In Dipika's case, her own father is so positive and loving towards her and that has made her such a positive and confident person.
