Anjali Abrol is extremely nervous about her first show Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat which was premiered on January 21 on Star Plus.
The show replaced Meri Aawaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni. We spoke to the 17-year-old actress to know more about her role
"I am playing the role of a poor girl Rani who lives in a village and has to struggle a lot in life. She is a simple girl who loves her mother and brother a lot. She is not aware about town life but circumstances force her to come to town," says Anjali.
Asked how she bagged the role, the actress reveals, "I gave my auditions in Jammu and after a month they called me here in Mumbai. After the look test I got selected."
How was the first day of shoot? "I was very scared. I did not know anyone here so it was a very heavy day for me. But now I have started knowing everyone and they are like family for me."
Anjali is doing her 11th Science from Jammu. On how she manages studies and shooting, she says, "I carry my books on the sets. My parents support me a lot and I am here because of them. They allowed me to come here and both of them are here with me so now it is my turn to fulfill their dreams. I will be appearing for my exams in March."
The young actress admits she is missing Jammu though. "I am missing my childhood friends and relatives from there but they call me every day and chat with me on phone. If you want to achieve something you have to sacrifice something."
Anjali is the latest new 'kid' on the block. Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat went on air on January 21 at 8 pm.
