OMG you updated!!! I have been waiting since the day I read all the chapters in one sitting, I simply couldn't pull myself out of the wonderful alter world you have created in your ff. I love this better, I love how Annika is still thriving to be independent, I love how you portrayed the Tej-Shiv-Shakti bonding, I love this Pinky, Damn I love everything about this ff. Can you please be sweetheart and NOT end with cliffhangers ? I haven't read the update yet, I hope you haven't left it hanging. I'd die of anticipation else. And Keep up the great work! Loving it so far..

Omg the suspense! I love how you've been progressing the plot, subtle in your writing but already so much has happened. Please don't keep up waiting for too long! The past couple of chapters have been my absolute favorites 👏

Your ability to create that chilling effect without the loud "Daksh is back" background! Gosh! so glad you ended with Shivaay actually making it at the end..

"Ekdam eternal love stories wali stories nikli yaar tum dono ki, na?"

Sigh. So get your comment about the show taking a depressing turn! How can the creators butcher their own story and characters? So glad we have writers like you on the forum who can still keep the original sketch intact!

3.6 PART G: THE TRUTH [Annika]

"Nazdeek Hai Dil ke, Phir kyun lage milke

Jaise ho milon door ho,

Jazbat hai anjaana, Mushkil hai samjhana

Apna hai ya hai ghair woh

Ishq mai adhura sa, rooh mai hai poora sa...

Dard hai saari umr bhar ka...

O Jaaanaa

- O Jaana, Ishqbaaaz

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He was here

Shivaay

The throbbing and the exhaustion drained away and a new fire burned through her as she looked into his blazing eyes.

Maybe if it had been another time, she would have stopped and contemplated the fire burning in them but right then...it didn't matter.

Because he was here.

He had come... for her.

Seconds might have turned into lifetimes as she stared into his eyes.

His eyes spoke of every unsaid emotion and her eyes blurred because of the tears that pooled inside them

A million unsaid things... a million memories...of him...of her...of them.

But it was something warm that was slowly trickling down her arm that broke through her swirling mind. And she looked down distractedly only to be horrified to find that he was holding on to the knife in a fierce grip just an inch away from her skin.

Her heart stopping, she looked up shocked at him as he continued to stare at her as if his life depended on it.

Panic like she had never felt before gripped her, "SHIVAAY"

Her voice seemed to finally break him out of his thoughts because his face changed and she could almost see the blue melt into charcoal and steel into his eyes for a second as he thrust a powerful arm back and knocked Daksh right in his nose.

Like a man possessed, he landed blows after blows on Daksh who was still laughing hollowly.

Was he okay? His arm had already been injured -

The panic that had gripped her still held her as she cut herself sharply in her rush to free herself from the rough ropes.

She saw Daksh fall one final time before the laughter finally stopped and then she couldn't wait a moment longer because in the next minute she had pulled on his arm and ran into him... breathing him...all of him... feeling his arms slowly go around her and finally...finally... she felt her heart starting again.

He was fine.

She was fine.

He had come... for her.

She felt him bury his head in the crook of her neck and that's when she finally allowed her tears to fall.

The citrus woody scent of him washed over her like home and she felt breathless again as she felt him caress the back of her head softly...reassuringly. But words and coherent thoughts evaded her as she finally registered the now familiar but still subtle hint of sandalwood that haunted her every waking moment.

"Shivaay "

She finally managed to croak out but the sudden hollow laughter broke their moment.

Dread seeped in as she almost turned to face Daksh behind them when Shivaay suddenly turned her around and stood firmly ahead of her.

He was shaking. She could feel him shaking through his arm that was holding on to her firmly.

"Daksh your problem is with me. Let Annika go"

His voice was sharp and the fierceness was barely laced in the usual calm.

What did he think he was doing?

But Annika had had enough.

They were in this together.

He had to know, didn't he?

Mustering up her strength, she pushed herself ahead and slid her hand into his as she stepped next to him.

Surprised steely grey eyes bore into hers as she squeezed his hand softly... assuredly.

He didn't need to know that she would cease to exist if something happened to him, he didn't. Really... but he needed to know that she would stand by him... through every storm.

This she could tell him.

This was okay.

He was about to push her back. She could see it... but just then Daksh started his rambling again and their attention was pulled towards him.

She could see the exact bruises that were forming on Daksh's face... but he still had that glint in his eyes that chilled her.

Subconsciously, she inched closer to Shivaay whose grip immediately tightened on her hand.

"What is with you guys? Ha? Shivaay?

Daksh's voice was now laced not with bitterness but something much more venomous.

And for a second, she felt like she wanted to step in front of Shivaay.

What if-

"NO!"

"Stop it Annika...he is here... he is fine. We are going to make it out of here "

Her heartbeat quickening, she pushed a mask on her face as she readied herself to face the threat in front of them.

And through the corner of her eye, she noticed Shivaay too was standing up more squarely like he too was readied for the fight.

"How dare you? How dare you bring her into this Daksh?

Shivaay's voice was soft but the softness only added to the threat as he gave her hand a final squeeze before leaving it and slowly walking towards him.

Her instinct was to pull him back stand in front of him... but the fire in Shivaay's now charcoal steel eyes stopped her.

He was on a blood-hunt and to mess with his plan... she shuddered as she remembered a similar look in his eyes during the wedding.

Daksh didn't look frightened... in fact it was the chilly ice-cold look that he gave them that assured her that this really was not a sane person.

"How dare I? Really, Shivaay?"

Both men stood there...facing each other. And she looked on almost helplessly with her heart in her mouth as her eyes never left Shivaay's face.

"Mangetar meri... Shaadi meri... meri aur Anni "

And then Shivaay had held him by the collar as he whispered menacingly into the cold dark room "don't you dare... don't you f**king dare bring her name to your lips."

Horrified, she ran to stand behind him as Daksh burst into laughter.

"So much possessiveness within 3 days of the wedding, Shivaay?"

Where was the security?

Police?

He had to have called them. He had to have. Didn't he?

And then Shivaay's patience seemed to have snapped... because he had landed a punch on his stomach. And then a few more and then within the next three minutes...she saw him fall backwards in front of them.

The laughter ceased but the glint... the glint still unnerved her.

This madness... she should run away with Shivaay...now.

Shivaay was nursing his arm, and distracted with that, she turned to him fiercely as she cradled his arm in both her hands.

"He is okay"

"Let's go from here please... "

Her eyes bored into his, deeply. She saw the sapphire emerging in the fire of his eyes and she knew that he wanted to listen to her.

Shivaay squeezed her hands assuredly. "I am fine... really."

"Don't you want to know why Shivaay married you, Annika?"

The words were a hoarse whisper but the way they echoed in the silent room... the words seemed to bounce around the slightly dimmed room in waves.

What was he talking about?

Shaking her head, she ignored the foreboding in her stomach as she turned firmly to Shivaay.

But the look in Shivaay's eyes stopped her short.

There was still the blazing fire...but underneath the layer of anger...there was something more. Much more... pain... fear and regret... all of these were there plain as day... and the churning in her stomach lurched slightly.

The foreboding tightened its knots.

We need to get out of here.

Daksh is insane...

This is madness -

She started looking around frantically... the door that Shivaay had come through was still open... and she turned one last time and then firmly held on to Shivaay's hand as she started pulling him shakily towards the one exit.

"They had to get away from here"

"Are you sure you don't want to know, Annika?"

Shivaay had gone completely still and this frightened her.

Every survival instinct was screaming inside her that she needed to get them out of there but it seemed that with the words... with just those seemingly innocent words...Daksh had imprisoned them both.

Her because a part of her was curious...anticipating... what if this was finally the answer to the questions that her mind had been screaming for the last week?

Him because it seemed that he was amidst some sort of an inner battle that rendered him incapable of moving... his face was twisted in pain so bad that Annika's instinct led her to run her hand softly down his face... down those lines that hunched him.

What had happened?

The foreboding inside her was stronger than ever before.

Pushing every thought aside she concentrated on stroking his face lightly assuring.

"Shivaa-"

The panic inside grew.

What was happening? What had happened?

She was interrupted by him.

"I told him that we had slept together. I told him that you had asked me for 15 lacs as the price of..."

The words trailed off...and the laughter... the hollow crazy laughter filled the room once again.

The words rang in her ears.

"I told him that we had slept together. I told him that you had asked me for 15 lacs as the price of...

"15 lacs

"I told him that we had slept together. I told him that you had asked me for 15 lacs as the price of..."

"Slept together..".

"I told him that we had slept together. I told him that you had asked me for 15 lacs as the price of..."

"Price of..."

The words were true. She could see it in Shivaay's eyes that bored deeply in hers then. Her hand fell off his face... limply...lifelessly.

"You know slept together right? I mean - "

Daksh's words didn't finish because suddenly Shivaay had turned and in one stride he had taken Daksh's collar and was now dragging him towards another screen.

A punch and a push... another screen shattered as Daksh spit and coughed out blood.

"Sex... Slept "

She didn't have to see Shivaay's eyes then. She could feel the fire in them as he rendered blows after blows on a maddeningly persistent Daksh.

"I told him that we had slept together. I told him that you had asked me for 15 lacs as the price of..."

Flashbacks and memories played on loop in her mind... Shivaay's changed behavior the day before the wedding... the wedding... the blast... the mind-numbing...confusing accusations in his eyes... the betrayal.

All of it had a reason.

"Tum mujhse shaadi karogi"

"Sahil"

The burning fire in his eyes of accusations...of betrayal...

He had believed the accusations... after everything... after all that they had been through in the last six months... he had believed all of it.

Unseeing eyes saw that Daksh had fallen to the ground. His eyes were half closed but Annika couldn't have moved then even if she wanted to.

He had believed it.

The back of her mind did register that he was now moving slowly towards her...shakily.

He had believed it.

His eyes bored into hers and the sapphire in them added to the anguish inside her. And just like that, she felt herself slowly breaking, all over again. Because, he had believed it... Despite them... despite every single instance of having had to prove herself to him...again and again... he had believed the worst of her.

He hadn't even asked her once... He had believed it.

The specks of honey cocoa in the sapphires of his eyes burnt her soul as she felt him come up to her.

How could he have believed it?

Another memory played then... this time of a new scene. Tia walking up to her and handing her a bundle of bills... payment... a tip... extra... for going away from him.

The pain turned into anguish as the burning inside her engulfed her.

"You believed it."

It was not a question.

The foreboding in her stomach had grown uncomfortable as she felt pieces of herself break - agonisingly slow - like they were each taking their time with the dismantling.

So her voice was a whisper and she didn't try and hide the anguish from him then. He had already broken her... twice... once on their wedding day... when he had broken his own image in her eyes... her love... but now... she was breaking... herself.

He didn't refute it.

She stared at her own reflection in his eyes and there it was... the image of a broken woman stared back at her... again.

His face reflected her own pain and for a second that stopped her... was it possible?

Stop

She shrugged dejectedly once before moving past him towards the open door.

But his hand clasped her wrist softly and she stopped in her tracks... Unmoving.

"I... I-"

His own voice was unmasked. There was burning inside him too and she turned to him fully... the fire inside her stronger now.

"How could you have?"

"After all of it? You couldn't even have asked me once? Once?

"I slept -"

She couldn't finish the sentence. And she fell to her knees at his feet...and she felt him succumbed down to her as well as his arms wrapped around her unsurely... unsteadily...

"Ann- No... No...I-"

Her voice grew shakily stronger as the tears that were building up now flowed freely. "It's because I didn't have the Naam, Paisa... Khandaan?"

She saw his face contract painfully at that and she knew that it had been all down to that.

Daksh had been right because he had them... Tia was right because she had them... in all those scenarios... every single time... she was/is the wrong one because despite everything... she didn't have it.

She couldn't have it.

She could never have it. T

his was not something that she could change or adjust herself into... this was a fundamental truth of her being that contradicted directly with his.

And just like that... Her heart broke all over again.

She would never have been enough. She could never be enough.

At last the revelation!!! Inspite of everything, Annika stood up with Shivaay against daksh. Daksh atlast hit the raw nerve, hit the bull's eye.

Daksh is a complete maniac. Jitna bhi maar khaaye, dil hai ki maanta nahi, aur dil maange more...

Eye opening for Annika, atlast her doubts and questions are answered. Waiting for Shivaay's reaction and action
