I dont know if anyone remembers, but there was this interview ('Never have i ever' with Nakuul, Kunal and Leenesh) where the interviewer asks if anyone has been turned on for real during shots for intimate scenes. And what Kunal says is that the entire shot is very technical.
And just as Priya said, the director keeps yelling in the background and although what we get to watch onscreen is an extremely intimate scene, the behind-the-scenes is tiring and repetitive. At every movement made, the director expects to hold the pose still, there are retakes after retakes, it is boiling hot on sets with harsh lights and huge fans, there are several people watching every movement. Of course, actors do improvise, but it is all done in a professional way. And background musics and editing helps us watch a scene which is mushy and romantic. It only becomes awkward for a very few actors when media asks them awkward questions. For the actors and everyone on set, it is as normal to wprk on intimate scenes as working on any other scene. And better the offcreen rappot and friendship, more beautiful is the result onscreen.
