L ast Saturday is a day Deepti Devi won't forget in a hurry. The actress who plays Radha in Par- rivar, met with an accident in Film City. Ironically, an accident sequence was being shot which required Devi's car to be hit. It was.. and went tumbling down the slope. Thankfully, the actress let herself out in the nick of time. "If I had been a second late, I'd have been dead," she says. Sustained injuries Devi has been badly injured but she can't afford to take a couple of days off because Parrivar is a daily soap. The actress explains that she had to get back to work within an hour after the accident, after swallowing three painkillers. "Do daily soap actresses ever get an off ?" she asks. Devi has requested the production house to use body doubles for action sequences. Really worth it? Working round-the-clock has taken its toll. "Yes, it means more name, fame and money.. but is it worth risking your life for?" she asks. Devi's also having problems facing the camera. The lighting has damaged her cornea and she needs an operation pronto. "I have to take a few days off but that won't happen till next month," she sighs.
