the episode was incredible. i think this is the first time when i actually am liking the relationship between leads post marriage. usually its bs. i think its in the name- neil and neela. neela has been in avni's life everything that ayesha failed to be as a mother. and neil is showing avni what a being a husband and partner is all about. he literally represents every quality that she couldnt find in ashish- hes a rock. unmovable in his convictions. his love is in his refusal to let anyone in his life go rather than in sacrificing one relationship for the other. he cares for every person in his life but can stand with them or against them depending on what he believes is right for them. he is assertive enough to get avni to a platform of discussion rather than simply take action. he restores her faith in the relationship between two humanbeings- not just man-woman relationship but that of two people who share no blood or history but only the bond of humanity. this is important for avni.
i feel like ali doesnt hold a gender for avni. he couldve been male female or trans. their relationship is beyond that acknowledgement of- "oh hes a boy"- for her. ali is a feeling of camaraderie and childhood and memories and prayers. but neil is acutely MALE for avni. something ali isnt- ali is just ali. unfortunately for ali- avni is also a girl. maybe still that little girl from his childhood. i dont think he really SEES the grown woman she is now. anyone couldve been avni and his feelings would be the same. he needs to see past that child hes so strongly attached to. i think he manages to do that to some extent with rhea- see past that bitter child. that will hopefully build that relationship.
id be completely onboard with jealous neil, if ali-rhea track actually starts and/or if ali was completely platonic with avni. right now a jealousy track will be mixed signals for ali and egg him on. that may actually lead to negativity, which i really dont want.
