The main character is Kanya. She worked at Devika's hotel as a maid. Devika is a hotel owner with a daughter named Shanaya. She wants her daughter to get married to Ayan. Ayan is the nephew of Ranbir Nanda...Ranbir is a RICH guy who NEVER wants to get married. So everyone thinks Ayan will get all of the money bcuz he is Ranbir's favorite nephew. Shanaya and Devika get stuck at an airport in another country when Ayan comes to visit them at their hotel. Devika tells Kanya to be Shanaya for a few days...(i think) Ayan and Kanya (Shanaya replacement) start to fall in love w/ each other. Ranbir comes to approve Shanaya and meets Kanya on the way. They have a heated argument, and they start hating each other. Kanya wants to tell Ayan that she is NOT shanaya. She writes him a letter, but it doesn't get to him. He proposes to her, and she thinks he is ready to accept her as Kanya, the middle class girl. Devika and Shanaya get out of the airport and arrive in time to stop the engagement. Kanya is exposed, and she finds out that Ayan never got the letter. Kanya's WHOLE family gets disgraced.
A man named Guru is a goonda, kind of. He sees Kanya suffering and rmrs that she helped him when he was hurt long time ago. He then started calling her his sister. He decides to kidnapp Ayan and blackmails Ranbir and tells him to get his sister, Kanya, married. That is the only way he'll release Ayan in time for his marriage to the real Shanaya...which STUPID Ayan had agreed to. Ranbir doesn't tell his family members about Ayan getting kidnapped...bcuz he doesn't want to hurt them. His mother, Mallika, tells Ranbir to get married so he has someone to look after him after she is gone...she blackmails him to get married. Otherwise, she will cut off his money. He won't get any money and he'll be on the streets.
Kanya's family continues to suffer...her sister, Adita, gets kicked out of her husband's house bcuz of the disgrace kanya brought to her family. Kanya is sad to see all of this happening.
Ranbir's brother Aditya suggests that he and Kanya get into a contract marriage to solve all of their probs. Kanya later on agrees and they tell Guru. He releases Ayan and he gets married. then they try to trick the world about the news of their marriage. They hope the parents will turn it down...but obviously that didn't happen according to today's episode...and you'll see what happens next!
