Part 6- Avni's POV
a short update

Avni had organized the party in 24 hrs along with DD. It was funny how much you could achieve in a day when you were trying to hide yourself from your own internal thoughts.

Neel had even come early from work that day, to help Avni in putting up any decorations if needed. But she had everything covered along with DD and some helpers. Avni plastered a smile on her face and told Neel to get ready himself. Whether the smile was real or fake, she herself didn't know.

Somehow something had changed in the atmosphere here recently. For some reason, Avni felt more at peace with Neel around, even amidst her own turmoil. Maybe it was because there was no secret left behind from Neel anymore. Maybe it was because the way Neel had supported her in the last couple of days, whether it be from with Ali's fallout or from Shweta's tantrums.Maybe because she was back to considering Neel as a good friend.

For some reason, following the husband-wife responsibilities didn't seem as hard lately.. With time, their friendship had made the act bearable.

Avni went up to their room at 6pm, to get ready herself ready for the party.

"Tum ab tak tiar nahi huye, Neel! Avni exclaimed to Neel. "Maine itne sab kham kar liye, and Mr supercop tillu still isn't dressed. Aur mujhe pata hain, tumne mujhe hi taana marne hai ki ladkiyan itni dher koi laati hai tiar hone me. Don't even get me started about Shweta, aunty. Woh mujhko hi dhate gi ki hum hi tumhari party mein late ponche!"

Neel looked up from laptop screen in confusion before realizing what the time was, and replied calmly, "Main khaam kar rahe tha. Don't worry.Mujhe itna waqt nahi chahiye. He went to their wardrobe and picked up a formal black suit ensemble. "Waise tum kya pehen rahe wali hon, Neel enquired.

"Whatever I find first, Avni shrugged, in a rushed state as she went to her side of the wardrobe.

Neel face brightened, which confused Avni. Why was he happy about that?

"Well, let me decide. Waise bhi, mera style better hai, Neel joked to Avni, in which Avni scrunched her face as a retort.

"Bade aaye. Tumhe yaad hai nah, your blue over the top attire during your engagement with Riya. Avni genuinely laughed recounting the memory.

Neel looked back to glare at her before turning his attention to her side of the closet. Instead of rummaging through her clothes, he got a bag that was placed on the bottom right corner. Avni didn't recognize the bag.

"Here you go, you have an outfit, Neel let out, placing the bag on the bed. Before she could state her confusion or even look at what was inside the bag, Neel all but ran to the bathroom.

Looking in the bag, Avni found a stunning deep red saree with a beautiful black border and black patch work. Avni looked confused. She didn't have that saree before.

As she continued to look at the saree in her hands, Neel popped his head out of the bathroom door, and smiled, "As a thank you for actually planning this party for me. Avni smiled back.
