Bahubali 2 has brought out lots of conspiracy theories and chicken little's sky is falling down scenario. And it is true that 3 years in row, regional movies have made a bigger impact than any Bollywood movie. Bahubali and Sairat along with Jungle book have changed the way we look at Bollywood. And now with the news that Tamil industry (Bollywood's current template) is showing signs of trouble as Bollywood, it is time to review this question - Will Telugu industry with few nice dubbing artist take over number uno position from Bollywood?

It is ironic but at start of the year, I had read about how Telugu industry should learn from Bollywood who has started making content movies like Tamil industry. But now there is an article in Hindu on how Tamil industry is jeopardy. In nutshell they are blame aging superstars who take away good resources, their rabid fandom refusing to give chance to youngsters, falling footfalls because youth is not interested, stars fudging box office collection to retain position and excessively unhappy distributors. Are the older stars really to blame in any industry? Is this Bollywood's future?

One of the issue that has cropped up with Bollywood is excessive use of sex and lack of family value. Is it correct? Has Bollywood become too sexual. Nepotism is one more reason given for failure but failing ticket price means lack of money to give to outside resource. Does this statement truly hold water.

One thing is clear, Bollywood should worry about reducing footfalls, lack of loyal dedicated audience, failing content, lack of bridge between mass and class and young stars unable to bridge the gap. I have seen more interest generated in Allu Arjun and Mahesh babu's movies than in any of the current Bollywood lot.

Bollywood has not failed but it is at precipice of disaster. With lack of interesting story lines, lack of profit and retreating producers/studio, Bollywood is in a jeopardy. Should Bollywood revamp itself like Marathi industry and control the cost to generate more profit or find a niche like Telugu industry or support younger stars (and make more youth oriented movies) like Malayalam and Punjabi film industry or all of the above. Do you agree Bollywood needs PR support and few changes. Discuss. 😃

Too many questions Megs and all questions are important and urgent.
BW is becoming Page3 and Red carpet feeding industry now. Content is missing , discipline is not there and corporate entry means budgets and corruption has entered the industry.

I am sure that SI movies will begin releasing their dubbed Hindi versions and kill small Hindi movies .
Someone told me that TL has to succeed and if it fails, the tremors will shake BW foundations.

I loved Spyder (?) trailer . I don't even know the actor, but if movie is good, I won't mind watching it on big screen .

Spyder is Mahesh Babu's movie. 😃

Let me not start with on going PR wars between stars and fan wars. Instead of improving Bollywood's chances, every one is pulling everyone's leg.

Enemy is at door and they fight amongst themselves. 😭

This is the best era of filmmaking.
2016 hd Kapoor and Sons and Dangal. Udta Punjab and Neerja. Pink and Phobia.
When else did we get such high quality films? Rich in content and full of AMAZING performances and stories.
Hindi cinema today has evolved from the simple 50s, the 2-dimensional 60s, the larger than life 70s, wacky 80s, melodramatic 90s, transitional 00s to today where films are so realistic. For the first time we're seeing fully fleshed out characters. Even the "mommy" roles are real and believable characters. Not to mention all other technical aspects.
Hindi cinema is at it's strongest and still getting stronger.

Bless you Rekha Ji but foot falls have dropped tremendously and less movies are getting any kind of love. Flops put lot of pressure on producer. The cash flow has decreased.

RR, yes Mahesh Babu is very famous. He is Namarata Shirodhkar's husband if you remember her. And his father was in industry too. Ranbir sort of reminds me of Mahesh Babu. Rich looks who had to struggle to get that massive mass appeal... 😊

Rekha ji - Where are Pan India movies ? Khans are still delivering, how long can they carry on?
Only VD is able to connect to masses. Gen next is struggling with niche movies.
So many people see the trailer and put it in "tv pe dekhenge" category .

No it wouldn't. I can't believe such a question is even being asked. I hate how people keep using Baahubali for all the articles and topics to show a decline in Bollywood. Bollywood is not going anywhere. Baahubali is the exception rather than the rule. Take Baahubali out of the picture where do telugu top 10 highest grossing films stand with Bollywood's top 10 highest grossers? The mass audience still prefers bollywood.
They can't keep churning out Baahubali. This was an epic project that took years to make. Most filmmakers will never attempt such projects and even if they did people would get sick of baahubali type of sagas after awhile.

Then we also have to think about how telugu will reach everyone. Dubbed movies, and subbed movies will not reach the same amount of people. Bollywood audience also don't seem to care about south actors and actresses. There is a reason they struggle in bollywood.

I could kiss this post šŸ‘ Hindi cinema has come so far. There are commercial movies that are being written today that would've been considered art films less than a decade ago. We are getting better. The progress is slow but we are getting better.

That is true PerfectAngel but films are also business. And Bollywood's ratio is 90% failure rate.
50, 60 and early part of 70's have some of the best Bollywood movies. Later 70 and 80 may have given impression of one man army but it was balanced with parallel and art house movies. 90s brought content to fore after lot of mishaps but the truth is balance is gone. Not every one is interested in content. Where is entertainment? I am playing devil's advocate but my reason for this post far transcends Bahubali. I have zero interest in upping Telugu industry but their hit rate and footfall is higher than Bollywood.

If there is no money how will those lovely content movies get made? 😊
