and when i started watching this serial i thought this character would be epic. he is epic alright. epic disaster.

VJ is a brilliant actor. the man has been pulling one man army for so long propping up Suraj the character and adding layers and depths to it.

but this track is so disastrous that even VJ can't pull off a miracle here. only hardcore Suraj and VJ fans can make sense of him. haters, bashers, floaters, neutrals and the rest are wearing.. kya quitayapa hai expressions at him and his 'sacrifice'.

earlier we used to write thesis and essays trying to make sense of this character. then finally enlightenment dawned upon me.

if we have to pen down essays and thesis to give excuses, justifications and reasons for the actions (and lack of it) of the character either the character is too complex or the character is shoddily/nonsensically/horrendously written.

take a wild guess which category i will place Suraj in?

Apart from the actress playing Imli other 3 are pretty good when it comes to acting. No actor can create magic if his character is poorly written. This whole idea of Suraj sacrificing his marriage for greater good is absolutely lame and illogical. Even if we ignore the Chakor angle, then also his method of saving Imli & her child is only going to ruin/hurt them more in future. Unless truth is revealed or he moves of out of that place with Imli there is no way that kid will have a peaceful childhood.
